Background: Paper mulberry has been regarded as a potential protein resource for relieving the forage supply crisis, and ensiling has become the most important method for preserving it. An in-depth analysis of the fermentation characteristics of paper mulberry silage could provide a theoretical basis for producing high-quality silage. In this study, we aimed to investigate the dynamic fermentation quality and bacterial community of paper mulberry silages harvested from different regions in China. Results: The results showed an increased trend in ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N) concentration, despite a decrease in pH with prolonged ensiling days. Furthermore, fermentation patterns varied among paper mulberry silages from three regions. Paper mulberry from Zhuozhou, Hebei (HZ) showed the highest dry matter (DM) content and a slight decrease in pH during ensiling. While the lowest DM content was observed in Hechi, Guangxi (GH), which exhibited abnormal fermentation in the silage. In particular, silage from Lankao, Henan (HL) exhibited the best fermentation quality, with lower pH and NH3-N concentration, and higher lactic acid concentration than others (P < 0.05). The bacterial richness and evenness also declined with prolonged ensiling. Among all samples, Enterobacter was the most abundant in all silages, with a trend of increasing and then decreasing during the fermentation process. Pseudocitrobacter dominated in GH silage with abnormal fermentation. Although the bacteria community during ensiling varied widely among silages from different regions, Enterobacter cloacae and Lactobacillus plantarum were the main differential bacteria in silage quality of paper mulberry. Conclusion: Ensiling days and regions had significant effects on the fermentation patterns and bacterial community of paper mulberry silage which might be due to the differences in DM content. Notably, silage quality showed a close relationship with Enterobacter cloacae and Lactobacillus plantarum. Inhibiting the proliferation of Enterobacter and Pseudocitrobacter could be critical for improving the fermentation quality of paper mulberry silage. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The total amount of sugarcane planting in China ranks third in the world, and Guangxi is the largest sugarcane planting base in China. In order to help the Guangxi government and industry better understand the annual planting distribution and scale of sugarcane in the whole region, it is convenient to optimize the planting structure and improve the efficiency of resource utilization, so as to ensure the stable development of Guangxi sugar industry. Based on the satellite-based hyperspectral image data of ' Zhuhai No.1 ', this paper carries out sugarcane recognition and area extraction, which fills the application gap of satellite-based hyperspectral image data in extracting sugarcane area in China. A globally optimized extended random walk model was used to identify and extract sugarcane by combining the spatial-spectral information of hyperspectral imagery. Firstly, the Initial probability estimation is performed using the LOR classifier, and then use the data after MNF dimensionality reduction to construct a weighted graph, and finally the probability optimization and recognition are carried out based on the extended random walk model. The results show that the spatial-spectral joint method based on extended random walk can effectively identify sugarcane, and the sugarcane recognition accuracy of 2021 year image can reach 91.4%, the misrecognition rate is 2.8%; the sugarcane recognition accuracy of 2020 year image can reach 90.5 %, the misrecognition rate is 3.1%. The utilization efficiency of land resources is an essential embodiment of economic development, social development, and ecological development and is a critical core to measure how to maximize the efficiency of land resources under limited conditions. The land is an important content and essential carrier of the research of tourism development level. This paper selects Panel Data from 2010 to 2019 to research the Guangxi regional tourism development. The entropy weight method and stochastic frontier production function (SFA) model were used to evaluate the development level of urban-rural tourism and the utilization efficiency of land resources in Guangxi. This paper uses the Panel Vector Autoregression (PVAR) model to analyze the internal relationship between urban-rural tourism development. The results show that: (1) Guangxi has a good level of tourism development and a high land use efficiency. (2) There is a reciprocal causation relationship between the regional tourism development level and land use efficiency in Guangxi, with significant levels of 0.005 and 0.034 respectively, indicating high credibility. This indicates that there is a mutual promotion and interaction between the two, which rely on and drive each other, promoting the joint sustainability of tourism development and land use efficiency. (3). The tourism development level is greatly influenced by itself, with impact values all above 0.99. At the same time, land use also has a significant self-impact, with impact values all above 0.87. Their internal optimization system is solid and endogenous impetus is robust, which can drive their development. Establishing an effective strategy for developing and protecting land use is beneficial to promote the long-term effectiveness of sustainable tourism development, enhancing high-quality development of the tourism economy and improving people's living standards and quality. This paper reflects on the concept of the Plantationocene through an analysis of sugarcane plantations in Guangxi province, China. It argues that although these plantations are owned and operated by local villagers, they are de facto controlled by corporations, and subject to state intervention through a 'zoning scheme'. They are constructed and operated according to the same logic as other plantations all over the world, namely, the logic of extraction based on cheap land and labor. By demonstrating that plantations are not necessarily large-scale and do not always entail the alienation of land and labor, this paper hopes to empirically broaden the concept of the Plantationocene and to highlight the extractive nature of and the power relations around plantations. The underground pressure disaster caused by the exploitation of deep mineral resources has become a major hidden danger restricting the safe production of mines. Microseismic monitoring technology is a universally recognized means of underground pressure monitoring and early warning. In this paper, the wavelet coefficient threshold denoising method in the time–frequency domain, STA/LTA method, AIC method, and skew and kurtosis method are studied, and the automatic P-phase-onset-time-picking model based on noise reduction and multiple detection indexes is established. Through the effect analysis of microseismic signals collected by microseismic monitoring system of coral Tungsten Mine in Guangxi, automatic P-phase onset time picking is realized, the reliability of the P-phase-onset-time-picking method proposed in this paper based on noise reduction and multiple detection indexes is verified. The picking accuracy can still be guaranteed under the severe signal interference of background noise, power frequency interference and manual activity in the underground mine, which is of great significance to the data processing and analysis of microseismic monitoring. The shadow price of carbon emissions can measure the marginal output effect under the carbon emission regulation and is also one of the key indicators to construct a low-carbon development path for production units. Currently, international research on shadow price is focused on the industrial and energy sectors. However, in the context of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality targets in China, the use of shadow price to study the cost of reducing emissions from agricultural production, especially forestry fruit industries, is significant. In this paper, we use a parametric approach to construct the quadratic ambient directional distance function. Using the input–output data of peach, we then calculate the environmental technical efficiency and shadow price of carbon emissions from peach production in Guangxi, Jiangsu, Shandong, and Sichuan provinces, and further estimate the values of green output in each province. The results show that (i) the environmental technology efficiency of peach production in Jiangsu province, located in the coastal plain area of eastern China, is the highest among the four provinces, while that in Guangxi province, located in the hilly area of southeast China, is the lowest. (ii) Guangxi province has the smallest carbon shadow price of peach production among the four provinces, while Sichuan province, located in the mountainous area of southwest China, has the largest. (iii) The green output value of the peach production in Jiangsu province is the highest among the four provinces, and that in Guangxi province is the lowest. In order to effectively reduce carbon emissions in peach production without affecting economic benefits, the paper puts forward the following suggestions: for peach-producing areas in the southeast hills of China, it is necessary to increase the application of green environmental technology while reducing the input of production factors in peach production. For peach-producing areas in the northern plains of China, the input of production factors should be reduced. It is not easy for peach-producing areas in the southwest mountains of China to reduce the input of production factors while increasing the application of green technologies. High and steep sandstone slopes along highway line are at high risk of disasters such as landslides, cracking of support structures, and so on. The monitoring, early warning, and emergency response of such slope disaster face enormous challenges, especially during the rainy season. In this paper, intelligent monitoring, early warning and forecasting system were carried out for the high steep sandstone slope with a transmission line tower at the slope crest along the highway under construction in Guangxi, China. The automatic monitoring data, emergency rescue program and rescue effect were analyzed, and emergency rescue measures for high steep slope protection were taken. The research results show that timely access to disaster warning information can effectively support the analysis of disaster causes and the evaluation of disposal programs. Deep-hole monitoring of deformation characteristics can determine the stable state of slopes, and the tangent angle warning criterion can be used for early warning and prediction of high steep slope landslides. By analyzing the location of the sliding surface and taking timely emergency disposal measures such as layered counterpressure method and micropipes, the landslide activities can be effectively controlled to prevent further acceleration of slope collapse. Featured Application: In this paper, a fast construction method for a composite girder cable-stayed bridge is proposed. The method is used on the Xiangsizhou Bridge, and it complies with all bridge rules while reducing the entire construction time of the bridge by 4 months. This paper presents a comprehensive study of the Xiangsizhou Bridge, a double-tower double-cable steel–concrete composite girder cable-stayed bridge located in Pingnan, Guangxi, China. A finite element model of the full-bridge spatial truss system was established using a dual main beam simulation of the steel–concrete composite girder. To obtain the initial reasonable bridge state, the minimum bending energy method was employed, followed by optimization of the state using the unknown load coefficient method to attain the final reasonable completion state. This paper proposes an innovative construction scheme for the erection of the main girders, which is designed to address the issue of excessive tensile stresses in the bridge deck slabs that can arise in conventional construction schemes. This scheme can save about 4 months of construction time and shorten the construction cycle of main beam erection by 60%. Furthermore, the study derived and verified a formula for the intermediate cable force during the construction process, which demonstrated its effectiveness. Public space as an extension of private living spaces carries the different social life and customs of human settlement. To analyze the spatial distribution characteristics of traditional villages in northern Guangxi based on spatial syntax and its influencing factors, this paper analyzed and compared the spatial structure and morphology of traditional villages in northern Guangxi by using the theory of spatial syntax and linguistics as the quantitative analysis method of spatial syntax, and verified the feasibility of expanding the application of spatial syntax, finally, the generality and characteristics of the spatial structure and form of traditional villages in northern Guangxi were put forward. Protection has been implemented. According to the comprehensibility data in this paper, the comprehensibility of the village 1 in northern Guangxi is 0.52, the village 2 is 0.40, the village 3 is 0.35, the village 4 is 0.48, the village 5 is 0.55 and the village 6 is 0.50. It showed that in the selected 6 village samples, except for the 3 ones in northern Guangxi, the local space of the other 3 villages could better perceive the overall space, which also reflected the overall space permeability of most traditional villages in northern Guangxi was good. [Objective] Sb deposits are characterized by simple mineral assemblage. The ore-forming ages, sources of ore-forming materials, and genesis of Sb deposits are controversial owing to the absence of suitable minerals for analysis. Sb resources in the South China Sb metallogenic region account for over 83% of the national total, with the Dian-Qian-Gui Sb belt in the southwest being an significant component of this region. [Methods] Taking the Longlin-Xilin Sb-Au mining district of western Guixi in the central part of the Dian-Qian-Gui Sb belt as an example, this paper systematically summarizes the ore-bearing strata, lithology of ore-bearing wall rocks, ore-bearing structures, and the coexistence relationship of Au and Sb deposits in 86 ore deposits (points) in the area. Combined with the geological characteristics of three typical deposits (Maxiong, Longtan, and Mahao) and the spatiotemporal distribution of Jurassic felsic intrusions, the inherent connection between Sb mineralization and clastic rocks and felsic intrusions was explored. [Results] (1) Statistics and field works show that the most favorable ore-bearing stratum in the Longlin-Xilin mining district is the Lower Devonian Yujian Formation (D1y), followed by the Lower Triassic Luolou Formation (T1Ll) and the Middle Triassic Banna Formation (T2b). The lithologies most conducive to mineralization are carbonaceous shale, pyrite-rich sandstone, and siltstone. The Sb content in these strata or lithologies is tens or even hundreds of times higher than the crustal abundance, which has the potential for Sb mineralization. (2) Within the NWW-SEE trending Nongsang-Shijiazhai fault zone in the Longlin area, the middle and late Jurassic felsic intrusions, which have consistent spatiotemporal occurrences with Sb and Au deposits, can directly contribute to antimony mineralization (as sources of Sb and S) and indirectly influence it (as a heat source), both favoring the formation of antimony deposits. (3) Statistical results show that Sb, Au, and Sb-Au deposits account for 48%, 46%, and 6% in the Longlin-Xilin district, respectively. This suggests that the ore- forming fluids for Sb and Au in the study area may originate from different sources. We also can not rule out the possibility that Sb and Au deposits derive from the same fluid. In the latter case, the precipitation of stibnite consumes H2S in the ore- forming fluid, destabilizing the Au complex in the solution and resulting in localized Au precipitation. This competition between Sb and Au in the fluid for H2S leads to a negative correlation in the grades of Sb and Au in coexisting deposits. (4) The study area experienced NS-striking compression in the Indosinian period, followed by the NW-SE shortening in the middle-late Jurassic. The intersection of NWW-SEE and NE-SW faults is the favorable ore-bearing space. The NWW-SEE faults displayed strike-slip movement in response to the NW-SE shortening, whereas the NE-SW faults exhibited transpression. Consequently, the NE-SW faults are less conducive to Sb mineralization compared to the NWW-SEE faults. The distribution direction of the NWW-SEE Douhuang-Xilin fault aligns with the axial direction of the main folds in the area, with most fault planes trending northward, displaying horizontal scratches, silicification, and extensional characteristics. The intersection of the Dohuang-Xilin fault and the NE-SW fracture exhibits significant Sb anomalies. [Conclusion] Based on the above studies, the promising areas we propose for Sb prospecting in Longlin-Xilin mining district are (1) Black shale and pyrite-rich siltstones of the Yujiang Formation in the core of the Xinzhou anticline as the key strata; (2) The periphery of the concealed intrusions within the NWW-SEE Nongsang-Shijaizhai fault (Longlin County) and the intersection area of the NWW-SEE Douhuang-Xilin fault and the NE-SW fault as the favorable areas. [Significance] The findings provide new insights into the genesis and metallogenic regularities of Sb-Au deposits in the study area, enriching the theoretical understanding of Au mineralization processes. Illicium verum Hook. f. is a globally significant spice, which is recognized in China as a food-medicine homolog and extensively utilized across the pharmaceutical, food, and spice industries. China boasts the world's leading resources of I. verum, yet its comprehensive utilization remains relatively underexplored. Through a resource survey of I. verum and the application of bibliometric visualization using CiteSpace, this study analyzed 324 papers published in the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) from 1962 to 2023 and 353 core documents from China's three major databases (CNKI, Wanfang Database, and VIP Database). I. verum from Guangxi province towards various southern provinces in China, with autumn fruits exhibited superior quality and market value over their spring fruits. Literature in WOSCC emerged earlier, with a research emphasis on food science technology and pharmacology pharmacy domains. WOSCC research on I. verum could be divided into two phases: an embryonic period (1962–2001) and a growth period (2002–2023), showing an overall upward trend in publication. The three major Chinese databases contain a larger number of publications, with a focus on the food sector, which could be categorized into three stages: an embryonic period (1990–1999), a growth period (2000–2010), and a stable period (2011–2023), with an overall downward trend in publication. Both Chinese and international research hotspots converge on the medical applications of I. verum, with antioxidant bioactivity research emerging as a prevailing trend. This study delineated the resource distribution of I. verum across China and identified the research hotspots and trends both in China and internationally. The findings are beneficial for guiding researchers in swiftly establishing their research focus and furnishing decision-makers with a comprehensive reference for industry information. Based on the survey data of hydropower immigrants in Yantan, Guangxi, the combination empowerment method and Topsis model are used to quantify the sustainable livelihoods composed of three abilities, and variance analysis is used to explore the impact of follow-up supports and their specific measures on the sustainable livelihoods for the overall and three types of immigrant households in order to evaluate the effectiveness. The results show that the overall sustainable livelihood level of immigrant households is lower than the medium level, and the sustainable livelihood level of non-poor households, general poverty alleviation households and low-income poverty alleviation households decreases successively. Comprehensive assistance has significantly improved the sustainable livelihoods of overall immigrant households. The involvement of specific measures has different effects on the sustainable livelihoods for different immigrant households, among which education and training have significant effects on the improvement of the sustainable livelihoods of three types of immigrant households. The number of measures involved has a significant impact on the sustainable livelihoods of non-poor households and low-income poverty-stricken households, but has no meaningful impact on ordinary poverty-stricken households. This paper expands the research methods in the field of of evaluating the effectiveness of follow-up support for immigrants, which can provide a basis for accurately and efficiently promoting immigrants support. In order to study the influence of bimodal pore structure on the mechanical properties of unsaturated soil, two typical bimodal pore structure clays in Nanning and Guilin in Guangxi were selected as target materials and the shear strength characteristics under different saturation conditions were analyzed. The effect mechanism of pore water distribution status on the strength of two kinds of soils with bimodal pore structure was explored by filter paper method and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) technique. The results show that the T2 distribution curves of the two samples have bimodal structure under saturated condition. Moreover, on the whole, the water retention characteristics of soil samples show bimodal soil-water characteristic curve. The stress-displacement relationship of the two kinds of soil is similar and the shear strength is closely related to saturation. The change trend of soil sample cohesion changes when the saturation is 40%, while the internal friction angle reaches the minimum at a saturation of 80%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The genus KirinuaLi & Lin, 2021 belonging to the family Symphytognathidae was established based on the type species, Kirinua maguaiLi & Lin, 2021. A total of three cavedwelling Kirinua species were recorded from Guangxi, China. In this paper, another new troglobitic spider species from the limestone Jinlong Cave in southern China is described under the name Kirinua jinlong sp. nov. Detailed descriptions, illustrations, and diagnosis are given to this new species, as well as a distribution map for all known species of the genus Kirinua. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

China is highly rich in diversity of Begonia, and in which Guangxi Zhuangzu Autonomous Region, following Yunnan province, has the second highest number of Begonia species. As a distribution center of Begonia sect. Coelocentrum, Guangxi already had 58 species recognized in this section. In this paper, Begonia ornithopedata, a new taxon of B. sect. Coelocentrum from southwestern Guangxi is described. With the bird-foot-shape lobed leaves, the new species is easily distinguished from any of other taxa, excepting few similarities only in leaf morphology of B. laminariae Irmsch. and B. circumlobata Hance. In Guangxi, Hainan, and Fujian Province in southern China, β-thalassemia is a frequent monogenic hereditary disorder that is primarily defined by hemolytic anemia brought on by inefficient erythropoiesis. It has been found that ineffective erythropoiesis in β-thalassemia is closely associated with a high accumulation of Reactive oxygen species, a product of oxidative stress, in erythroid cells. During recent years, ferroptosis is an iron-dependent lipid peroxidation that involves abnormalities in lipid and iron metabolism as well as reactive oxygen species homeostasis. It is a recently identified kind of programmed cell death. β-thalassemia patients experience increased iron release from reticuloendothelial cells and intestinal absorption of iron, ultimately resulting in iron overload. Additionally, the secretion of Hepcidin is inhibited in these patients. What counts is both ineffective erythropoiesis and ferroptosis in β-thalassemia are intricately linked to the iron metabolism and Reactive oxygen species homeostasis. Consequently, to shed further light on the pathophysiology of β-thalassemia and propose fresh ideas for its therapy, this paper reviews ferroptosis, ineffective erythropoiesis, and the way they interact. Sugarcane is an annual or perennial persistent rooted tropical and subtropical herb that grows in tropical and subtropical regions. As China's production ranks among the world's leading, sugarcane industry is an important part of agricultural economy in China. As the largest sugarcane production center in China, Guangxi is one of the most suitable areas for sugarcane cultivation in China and even in the world. Sugarcane industry, as an agricultural advantageous industry in Guangxi, not only has a significant image to the national economy of the region, but also is closely related to the issue of security of national sugar supply. Continuous cropping of sugarcane is very common in Guangxi, which is very helpful for the concentration selection of sugarcane samples. The wide application of satellite remote sensing monitoring technology has become an indispensable means of natural resources monitoring. Using optical satellite remote sensing image to identify and extract sugarcane planting areas is of great significance to quickly and conveniently grasp the information of sugarcane distribution and yield. In this paper, the precision of sugarcane extraction from GF1 and GF2 satellite images is analyzed by using deeplab V3 + model, the effect of optical remote sensing images with different resolution on sugarcane extraction accuracy was studied to provide better data support for dynamic monitoring of sugarcane planting. Accurate modeling for power-electronic devices requires power systems to be simulated with considerably small step sizes (typically several microseconds), which causes unnecessary computational burden and reduces efficiency, especially for large-scale power systems. To achieve a balance between simulation precision and efficiency, this paper introduces an innovative multi-rate interface strategy based on the modified time-domain simulation (TDS) method and multi-area data exchange method. The modified TDS method transforms the initialization process into exchange of electric data among different subsystems, while the multi-area data exchange method is able to ensure numerical stability and simulation universality during the multi-rate simulation. The proposed strategy provides a robust interface that allows different subsystems to be engaged in simulations with different step sizes while exchanging data. To validate this strategy, simulations on an integrated system of IEEE 14-bus and 33-bus systems is conducted. In addition, the strategy is further applied to a real-world scenario of the subsystem in the Guangxi Power Grid in China. Analysis of the results indicates that the proposed multi-rate fast simulation strategy can significantly boost simulation efficiency while maintaining accuracy, which marks a notable improvement compared with the traditional single step size simulation. The condition monitoring system of the hydropower generator unit (HGU) contains a vast amount of monitoring data related to equipment performance. It is challenging to reveal the HGU performance change law from these data. This paper constructed a correlation transmissibility damage indicator (CTDI) to analyze HGU degradation performance based on the transmissibility function (TF). Unlike traditional TF damage indicators, CTDI can use different types of monitoring data to obtain system TF to increase TF combination and improve detection sensitivity. The analysis is performed using actual monitoring data from a hydropower plant in Guangxi, China. Firstly, a new frequency concept is defined based on the characteristics of HGU obtaining data every 10 minutes. Then, the HGU is considered a system and divided into three subsystems according to the sensor installation locations of the monitoring system. The damage indicator is used to analyze the system and its subsystems at the time scales of day, week, and month to locate and quantify the damage of HGU. The final results of this analysis show that the method can accurately detect and locate faults, applies to different operating conditions, and reveals the HGU performance deterioration pattern, which is of great significance for HGU maintenance. This study challenges the notion of Saek as an aberrant member of Tai by proposing that certain features previously considered archaic are, in fact, contact-induced innovations. Specifically, it argues that multiple correspondences involving /j-/ and the alleged split of the Proto-Tai *A1 tone can be traced back to Vietnamese and Lao or Thai influence. Additionally, this paper asserts that Saek is closely related to Fusui, a Northern Tai dialect spoken in southwestern Guangxi. Stand dominant height has a close relationship with stand productivity and is not much affected by stand density and thinning within a reasonable density range, making it an excellent indicator for estimating stand site quality. Topographic factors (altitude, aspect, slope, etc.) have a significant influence on the growth process of stand level, and the combination of different site factors increases the randomness of the evaluation of forest productivity. In this paper, with one-way ANOVA, it was determined that the effects of density and management mode on the Masson pine stand dominant height were not significant. The data on the Masson pine stand dominant height in the southern subtropics in Guangxi, China, were analyzed, and the GADA model was established using the nonlinear least squares method, the Bayesian approach, and the one-level nonlinear mixed-effects model with the topographic factor as the random effect, respectively. The results indicated that the nonlinear mixed-effects model had the best fitting performance and the highest prediction accuracy for stand site quality (a 0.27% improvement in R² compared to the least squares method and a 1.30% improvement in R² compared to the Bayesian approach), while the model obtained by the Bayesian approach had more elasticity and biological significance. In summary, when the data distribution is uniform and comprehensive, introducing terrain factors into the establishment of site index models can provide a more scientific basis for estimating the productivity of southern subtropical Masson pine stands under different site conditions. When the data distribution is uneven, applying the Bayesian approach can make the site index model more biologically meaningful. The stand site quality model can predict the potential production capacity of forests, which is an important basis and can support forest management and harvest prediction. Purpose: This paper, with the tobacco industry as the background, establishes an indicator system for tobacco supply chain performance evaluation using the FAHP method. Design/methodology/approach: Based on the relevant data of tobacco enterprises in Guangxi, the paper calculates the performance values of tobacco companies in various cities of Guangxi, and through the analysis of each indicator and the performance values of each city, the authors find that the improvement ability has a major impact on tobacco supply chain performance. Then, the paper establishes a system dynamics model to further demonstrate the impact of information digitalization on the performance of the tobacco supply chain in Guangxi, thus providing theoretical support for building digital tobacco logistics in Guangxi. Findings: The findings of the study show that the performance of the tobacco supply chains in various cities of Guangxi is generally at the level of "Pass–Good," which can barely meet the requirements of tobacco supply chain operation, but there is still plenty of room for improvement. Conducting suitability assessment for sugarcane cultivation is of great significance for optimizing the sugarcane cultivation structure and industrial layout. In this paper, based on the requirements of sugarcane growth and development on climate, terrain, and other environmental conditions, as well as the influence of natural disasters, a total of 11 specific indicators in terms of climate factor, terrain factor, and disaster factor were selected to construct a sugarcane cultivation suitability assessment system based on the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Then, using Guangxi Province, China, as an example, a suitability assessment for sugarcane cultivation was conducted using multi-source data on climate, terrain, and hazards over the past 30 years. The results showed that among 11 indicators, including annual average temperature, elevation had the largest contribution rate, followed by precipitation during the period of ≥20 °C, slope, and the autumn drought frequency. From the spatial distribution, 37% of the provincial regions were suitable for sugarcane cultivation, mainly distributed in Chongzuo City, Nanning City, Qinzhou City, and Beihai City. In total, 44% of the provincial regions were moderately suitable for sugarcane cultivation, mainly distributed in Hezhou City, Laibin City, and Liuzhou City. Additionally, only 19% of the provincial regions were unsuitable for sugarcane cultivation, mainly distributed in Baise City, Hechi City, and Guilin City, with the terrain factor being the main influencing factor of sugarcane suitability assessment. In order to make reasonable use of land resources and increase sugarcane yield, it is suggested that sugarcane cultivation areas should be adjusted to the central and southern regions such as Chongzuo City, Nanning City, Beihai City, and Qinzhou City, and other industries should be developed in the northern regions which are not suitable for sugarcane cultivation. China tends to be a dominant figure in the literature on global land grabbing. It is either cast as a major land grabber in distant places such as Africa, or as a key player in crop booms elsewhere because it provides for massive market demand, such as for soya from South America. These are all important issues and are well covered in the literature. However, the crop booms inside China that involve transnational capital and investors - and have provoked conflict around land politics - have been overlooked. Spotlighting the issue of land grabbing inside China reminds us that capital accumulation is principally interested in geographies and settings where it can generate profit - regardless of nationalities, boundaries, structural or institutional conditions. Karst environmental issues have become one of the hot spots in contemporary international geological research. The same problem of water shortage is one of the hot spots of global concern. The peak-cluster depression basins in southwest of Guangxi is an important water connotation and ecological barrier areas in the Pearl River Basin of China. Thus, studying the spatial and temporal variations and the influencing factors of its water yield services is critical to achieve the sustainable development of water resources and ecological environmental protection in this region. As such, this paper uses the Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Tradeoffs (InVEST) model to assess the spatial and temporal variabilities of water yield services and its trends in the peak-cluster depression basins in southwest of Guangxi from 2000 to 2020. This work also integrates precipitation (Pre), reference evapotranspiration (ET), temperature (Tem), digital elevation model (DEM), slope, normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), land use/land cover (LULC) and soil type to reveal the main factors that influence water yield services with the help of Geodetector. Results show that: 1) in time scale, the total annual water yield in the study area show a fluctuating and increasing trend from 2000 to 2020, with a growth rate of 7.3753 × 108 m3/yr, and its multi-year average water yield was 538.07 mm; 2) in spatial pattern, with high yield areas mainly distributed in the south of the study area (mainly including Shangsi County, Pingxiang City, Ningming County, Longzhou County and Jingxi County), and low yield areas mainly distributed in Baise City and Nanning City; 3) the dominant factor of water yield within karst and non-karst landforms is not necessarily controlled by precipitation, and the explanation degree of DEM factors in karst areas is significantly higher than that in non-karst areas; 4) amongst the climatic factors, Pre, ET and Tem are dominant in the spatial pattern of region water yield capacity. among which Pre has the highest explanatory power for the spatial heterogeneity of annual water production, with q values above 0.8, and each driver showed a significant interaction on the spatial distribution of water yield, with Pre exhibiting the strongest interaction with LULC. Phaeocystis globose (P. glo) are the most frequent harmful algae responsible for red tides in Qinzhou Bay, Guangxi. They pose a significant threat to the coastal marine ecosystem, making it essential to develop an efficient indicator method tailored to P. glo outbreaks. In remote sensing water quality monitoring, there is a strong correlation between P. glo and cyanobacteria, with phycocyanin (PC) serving as an indicator of cyanobacterial biomass. Consequently, existing research has predominantly focused on remote sensing monitoring of medium to high PC concentrations. However, it is still challenging to monitor low PC concentrations. This paper introduced the BP neural network (BPNN) and particle swarm optimization algorithm (PSO). It selects spectral bands and indices sensitive to PC concentrations and constructs a PC concentration retrieval model, in combination with meteorological factors, offering a comprehensive exploration of the indicative role of low PC concentrations in predicting P. glo red tide outbreaks in Qinzhou Bay. The results demonstrated that the PC concentration retrieval model, based on the backpropagation neural network optimized by the particle swarm optimization algorithm (PSO-BPNN), demonstrated better performance (MAE = 0.469, RMSE = 0.615). In Qinzhou Bay, PC concentrations were mainly concentrated around 2~5 μg/L. During the P. glo red tide event, the area with undetectable PC concentrations (PC < 0.04 μg/L) increased by 4.97 km2, with regions below 0.9 μg/L experiencing exponential growth. Considering the variations in PC concentrations along with meteorological factors, we proposed a straightforward early warning threshold for P. glo red tides: PC < 0.9 μg/L and T < 20 °C. This method, from a remote sensing perspective, analyzes the process of P. glo outbreaks, simplifies PC concentration monitoring, and provides a reasonably accurate prediction of the risk of P. glo red tide disasters. Camellia wumingensis, a neglected species known only from limestone areas of Guangxi, China, is formally described and illustrated here. It is morphologically similar to C. flavida var. patens in having current-year branchlets purplish red, petiole adaxially grooved, flowers axillary or terminal, ovary glabrous, capsule oblate, and seeds brown, but is readily distinguished by the leaf texture and size, number of secondary veins, flower size, flower bud shape and size, number of petals, degree of fusion of the outer filaments, and pericarp thickness. Other related species C. flavida and C. pinguoensis var. terminalis are also compared with C. wumingensis in the paper, and the differences between them are obvious. In addition to a diagnosis and detailed description, information on the geographical distribution, images of morphological characters and pollen grains, and a provisional conservation status assessment are provided for this species. China's construction industry has assumed an important role in China's urbanization process, improving China's urban landscape and the level of national production and living facilities, but the productivity of the construction industry in some regions of China is still at a relatively low level. Taking the construction industry in Guangxi province in southwest China as an example, this paper analyzes the relevant indexes affecting the total factor productivity level of the regional construction industry and composes the statistical relationships among the indexes using dynamic measurement methods, and obtains that: (1) The number of employees, enterprises, labor productivity and construction profit have positive influence on the total factor productivity of Guangxi construction industry, but the improvement of regional construction gross product does not drive the improvement of technical equipment rate; (2) There is a dynamic equilibrium relationship between input and output indicators of total factor productivity of Guangxi construction industry, and the positive driving effect of output indicators on input indicators is not obvious; the influence of input indicators on output indicators is greater, and the positive influence is more. Accurate and effective wind power prediction plays an important role in wind power generation, distribution, and management. Inthis paper, a hybrid algorithm based on gradient descent and meta-heuristic optimization is designed to improve the accuracy of prediction and reduce the computational burden. The hybrid algorithm includes three steps: in the first step, we use the gradient descent algorithm to get the initial parameters. Secondly, we input the initial parameters into the meta-heuristic optimization algorithm to search for the "best parameters" (high-quality inferior solutions). Finally, we input optimized parameters into the RMSProp optimization algorithm and conduct gradient descent again to find a better solution. We used 2021 wind power data from Guangxi, China for the experiment. Objective - The research objective of this paper is to establish an efficient awareness model of emergency supplies dispatching for tropical cyclone disasters, so as to timely deliver emergency supplies to each disaster area at the lowest cost. Methodology/Technique - Taking the disaster caused by super typhoon No.1409 "Rammasun" to cities and counties in Guangxi as an example, 24 counties (districts) belonging to 7 prefecture-level cities with more than 1000 people in need of emergency transfer and resettlement are selected as the research objects. Findings- The linear programming method is used to establish two kinds of emergency supplies dispatching models: level-by-level centralized dispatching model and unified dispatching model of provincial emergency management center. By comparing the calculation results of the two models, it is found that the level-by-level centralized dispatching model adopted by Guangxi government departments is relatively high in cost although it is simple and convenient. Novelty- The total cost of the improved unified dispatching model of provincial emergency management center is 31.72% less than that of the level-by-level centralized dispatching model, which has greater promotion value. The research results can provide a better reference for the government departments at all levels in Guangxi to formulate the emergency supplies dispatching scheme for tropical cyclone disasters. Prior to this study, no species of Pseudophanias Raffray had been reported from Nanling, a vast biodiversity conservation area that spans five provinces in southern China. In this paper, three new species of the genus are described: Pseudophanias furcilobus sp. nov. (Guizhou, Guangxi), P. leigong sp. nov. (Guizhou), and P. mulun sp. nov. (Guangxi), suggesting that additional study on the diversity of this group in the area is required. A new species of freshwater mussel belonging to the genus Pseudocuneopsis, namely Pseudocuneopsis wuana sp. nov., is diagnosed and described from Guangxi Province, China. This paper provides a detailed shell morphological description, soft-body anatomical characteristics, and partial sequences of mitochondrial COI as DNA barcode data for the novel species. The new species can be distinguished from its congeners (Pseudocuneopsis sichuanensis, P. yangshuoensis, and P. capitata) by shell shape, beak position, and surface sculpture. Phylogenetic analyses based on the mitochondrial COI gene reveal that Pseudocuneopsis wuana sp. nov. forms a sister group with P. yangshuoensis and exhibits an interspecific genetic distance of 5.1%. When large-scale common land is taken from villagers by investors with little compensation, their labour unneeded, villagers' livelihoods tend to be largely destroyed. This implies a tendency to focus on what has been taken from villagers during the land-based change, which has valid and has far-reaching social relevance. But as the rise of the industrial tree plantation (ITP) sector in Guangxi shows, some villagers are capable of having their livelihoods maintained and even expanded when big investors come and acquire massive amounts of land. This seems to be an anomaly at a first glance, considering what has been taken from villagers, but these unexpected and positive livelihood changes can be explained when one closely examines the dynamic of what is taken and what has been left to villagers. During this ITP boom, although large-scale collectively owned forestland is taken by investors and few work opportunities are created to incorporate those affected, villagers' control over farmland plots and their access to off-farm work opportunities remain (including the land system and labour dynamics). Most scholars believe that transgression events can contribute positively to organic matter enrichment and shale gas sweet spot development, while whether or not regression events are conducive to shale gas sweet spot development remains to be further discussed. Variations in organic carbon content (TOC), and major and trace elements at the Rhuddanian–Aeronian stage in the Luzhou area, the southern margin of Sichuan Basin, were analyzed in this paper. We discuss differences in paleoenvironment organic matter enrichment and shale sweet spot development during transgression and regression. A transgressive system tract (TST) occurred during the early Rhuddanian stage, while early highstand system tracts (Ehst-1 and Ehst-2) occurred during the late Rhuddanian stage and Aeronian stage, and a late highstand system tract (LHST) developed during the late Aeronian stage. A rise in sea level during the TST in the upper Yangtze resulted in an anoxic environment, where a continuous upwelling current brought about a large number of nutrients in the seawater, significantly increasing paleoproductivity. Strong tectonic subsidence, weak chemical weathering, and a rising sea level together led to a low terrigenous debris supply in the catchment area. Therefore, paleoproductivity and redox conditions were the primary controlling factors of organic matter enrichment at the TST stage, with a clastic supply of secondary importance. With the advance of the Guangxi orogeny, the organic matter enrichment at the EHST-1, EHST-2, and LHST stages was mainly controlled by redox conditions and debris supply. A comparison of the key physical parameters and geochemical indicators of shale reservoirs from these four system tracts suggests that two shale sweet spot types (type I and II) were developed during the Rhuddanian–Aeronian stage, occurring in the TST and EHST-2 stages. High TOC and high microcrystalline quartz content are key to developing type I sweet spots, while enhanced anoxic conditions in the bottom water caused by ephemeral, small-scale sea level rises are the main determinant of class II sweet spots in the later EHST stage. China has a vast scale of hydropower, and the small hydropower stations account for a large proportion. In flood season, the excessive inflow keeps these stations at a high reservoir level, leading to a worse condition of hindered power output and a great error in the calculation of power generation. Therefore, this paper proposes a mid-term optimal scheduling model for low-head cascaded hydropower stations considering inflow unevenness, in which the power output is controlled by the expected power output curve and daily inflow–maximum power output curve. A case study of nine hydropower stations on the Guangxi power grid shows that, regardless of considering the fitted curve or not, there are different degrees of error between the planned and actual situations. However, the error and power generation are decreased when considering the fitted curve, which reflects the impact of hindered power output. Meanwhile, according to the comparison, the weekly plan is more in line with the real condition when using this model to solve the problem. The results indicate that this model improves the accuracy of power output calculation for low-head hydropower stations with uneven inflow, playing a key role in the process of scheduling. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and recurrent neural networks (RNNs) have gained improved results in remote sensing image data classification. Multispectral image classification can benefit from the rich spectral information extracted by these models for land cover classification. This paper proposes a classification model called a hierarchical convolutional recurrent neural network (HCRNN) to combine the CNN and RNN modules for pixel-level classification of multispectral remote sensing images. In the HCRNN model, the original 13-band information from Sentinel-2 is transformed into a 1D multispectral sequence using a fully connected layer. It is then reshaped into a 3D multispectral feature matrix. The 2D-CNN features are extracted and used as inputs to the corresponding hierarchical RNN. The feature information at each level is adapted to the same convolution size. This network structure fully leverages the advantages of CNNs and RNNs to extract temporal and spatial features from the spectral data, leading to high-precision pixel-level multispectral remote sensing image classification. The experimental results demonstrate that the overall accuracy of the HCRNN model on the Sentinel-2 dataset reaches 97.62%, which improves the performance by 1.78% compared to the RNN model. Furthermore, this study focused on the changes in forest cover in the study area of Laibin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, which was 7997.1016 km2, 8990.4149 km2, and 8103.0020 km2 in 2017, 2019, and 2021, respectively, with an overall trend of a small increase in the area covered. The Changpo–Tongkeng tin polymetallic deposit in Dachang, Guangxi, is a world-class, superlarge, polymetallic tin deposit consisting of lower skarn zinc–copper ore bodies and upper tin polymetallic ore bodies. Garnet is the main gangue mineral in the skarn zinc–copper ore bodies and has a granular texture. Based on hand specimens and microscopic observations, the existing garnet can be divided into two generations: an early generation (Grt I) and a late generation (Grt II). The results of electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) and laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) in situ microanalysis show that the contents of SiO2 and CaO in the garnets from the two generations present limited variations, while the FeOT and Al2O3 contents vary significantly, indicating the grossular–andradite solid solution series (Gro29–82And12–69). Compared with Grt I (Gro72And25), Grt II (Gro39And59) is Fe-enriched and oscillatory zoning is developed. The total rare earth element (REE) contents in the two generations of garnet are relatively low, showing light rare earth element (LREE) depletion and heavy rare earth element (HREE) enrichment patterns. Grt II has higher REE content than Grt I and exhibits significant negative Eu anomalies (δEu = 0.18–0.44). The contents and variation characteristics of the major and trace elements in the two generations of garnet suggest that there were variable redox conditions and water/rock ratios in the hydrothermal system during the crystallization process of garnet. In the early stage, skarnization was in a relatively closed and low-oxygen fugacity system, with hydrothermal diffusion metasomatism being dominant, forming homogeneous Grt I lacking well-developed zoning. In the late stage of skarnization, the oxygen fugacity of the ore-forming fluids increased, with infiltration metasomatism being dominant, forming Grt II with well-developed oscillatory zoning. The contents of Sn, As, W, In, and Ge in the garnets are relatively high and increase with the proportion of andradite. Sn in zinc–copper ore bodies mainly exists in the form of isomorphic substitution in garnet, which may be the main reason for the lack of tin ore bodies during the skarn stage. This paper compares the trace element contents in garnets from domestic skarn deposits. Models for bathymetry retrieval from multispectral images have not considered the errors caused by tidal fluctuation. A rigorous bathymetric model that considers the variation in tide height time series, including the tide height calculation and instantaneous tide height correction at the epoch of satellite flight into the bathymetric retrieval model, is proposed in this paper. The model was applied on Weizhou Island, located in Guangxi Province, China, and its accuracy verificated with four check lines and seven checkpoints. A scene from the Landsat 8 satellite image was used as experimental data. The reference ("true") water depth data collected by a RESON SeaBat 7125 multibeam instrument was used for comparison analysis. When satellite-derived bathymetry is compared, it is found that maximum absolute error, mean absolute error, and RMSE have decreased 54, 45, and 30% relative to that of the traditional model in the entire test field. The accuracy of the water depths retrieved by our model increased 30 and 56% when validated using four check lines and seven checkpoints, respectively. The logistics industry is a basic and strategic industry that supports the development o f national economy and society. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the logistics efficiency of 22 cities in Guangxi and Yunnan provinces in China, and to grasp the problems and constraints and present policy proposals to promote the transformation and upgrading of the industrial structure in Guangxi and Yunnan provinces. In this paper, five input indexes and four output indexes were selected and the data from 2016 to 2018 were analyzed through DEA method. According to the analysis, the logistics efficiency of Guangxi and Yunnan provinces is not bad overall, but the development of each region is not balanced and the level of logistics efficiency is quite different. And it is found that each city needs to further improve the level of scale because the input and production structure of logistics resources is unreasonable. The limitation of this study is that it is difficult to generalize the analysis results because only the data over the past three years have been analyzed.
