The article presents a study which examines the possible transfer of introduced parasites to the abundant native syntopic Mulloidichthys vanicolensis found in the Hawaiian Archipelago. For the study, 8 monogenean species have been introduced with Lutjanus kasmira and Lutjanus fulvus into the archipelago. Researchers gathered a total of 446 fish off the north coast of Moorea Island. There were no important differences demonstrated in mean parasite intensity between treatment with and without copper sulfate for the total number of monogeneans and every monogenean species.
