Piper peepuloides a well-known medicinal plant of Piperaceae family is used by many tribal groups to treat inflammation and diabetics in India. In the study, different extracts such as petroleum ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate, ethanol and aqueous of Piper peepuloides fruits are evaluated for its secondary metabolites, in vitro antioxidant and Anti-bacterial activity. Among various extracts, Piper peepuloides fruits ethanol extracts showed the maximum amount of phenolics (1394.64 mg GAE/g extract), tannin (1365.21 mg GAE/g extract) and flavonoid (797.89 mg RE/g extract) content. It also revealed the presence of highest antioxidant property by estimating DPPH% (IC50: 55.28 µg/mL), ABTS (32055.56 µM TE/g extract), FRAP (248.33), Phosphomolybdenum (196.13 mg AAE/g), Superoxide (65.6%) radical scavenging activity and Piper peepuloides ethyl acetate and ethanol extract of fruit sample showed a significant zone of inhibition for Citrobacter freundii (14 mm), Enterobacter cloacae (13 mm), Burkholderia cepacian (16 mm), Klebsiella pneumonia (14 mm) and Escherichia coli (17 mm) at a concentration of 10 mg/ml. Piper peepuloides fruit extracts have a tremendous amount of antioxidant potential, making them a good source of natural antioxidant supplements for food to protect against oxidative stress-related diseases.
