This special issue on Indian logic consists of nine research papers dealing with different aspects of Indian logic by nine distinguished authors. It is divided into three sections, such as Nyāya logic, Buddhist logic and Jaina logic. The papers deal with the issue of inference and allied concepts from both historical and conceptual considerations. The role of memory in one's cognition of sentential meaning is a pivotal topic in Indian philosophical debates on the nature of language. The Bhāṭṭa Mīmāṃsakas claim in their doctrine of abhihitānvaya that words denote word-meanings which in turn lead one to sentential meaning, with memory playing only a limited role in this process. The Prābhākara Mīmāṃsakas however assign memory a central role and assert that each word in a sentence denotes the connected sentential meaning. This paper is a philosophical and philological study of the arguments presented by the influential Prābhākara thinker Śālikanātha in his Vākyārthamātṛkā-I (VM-I) in order to substantiate the role of memory as part of the doctrine of anvitābhidhāna. The VM-I commences these discussions with an objection of the Bhāṭṭa pūrvapakṣin against this Prābhākara doctrine (often quoted even in recent scholarship), and thereafter proceeds to refute this objection by demonstrating the role of memory, specifically in regard to word-meaning. Śālikanātha lays out his refutation by means of several layers of intricate argumentation, and this paper attempts to follow the text closely and present cogently his philosophical reasoning. The aim of this paper is thus to not only demonstrate the early pre-empting of this Bhāṭṭa objection by Śālikanātha himself but also his own responses to this, thereby enabling one to understand with greater clarity a cornerstone of the elaborate doctrine of anvitābhidhāna. The need for technology in classrooms, particularly language classrooms, was envisaged way back in the 1970s, and ever since there has been attempts to blend socio-constructivist theories of language learning using a technological interface. The last decade witnessed an unprecedented digital penetration across the world, resulting in demand for agility in approach and outcome-driven curriculum. This led to revisions in classroom pedagogy, pedagogic principles, and the concept of classroom itself. Digital revolution in India coincided with economic liberalization and attempted to update the curriculum to achieve global standards. In fact, in the urban quarters of the nation, the classrooms have been growing smarter with learners having access to worldwide information network and teachers acting more as facilitators than sources of information. However, the needs and readiness of learners are as diverse as the vast socio-geography of the nation. This paper probes into the diverse learning contexts of India and analyzes the technological intervention in the language classrooms. Discussing the manifold challenges to be overcome at every level, the paper surveys the effectiveness of Technology-Enhanced Language Learning (TELL) in the Indian context and studies its future scope in transforming the education system. In this article we want to argue that mission models of inculturation and contextualization are not apt responses to the enlightenment model of mission or colonial mission and that the 'mission as translation' model is one way forward. We propose this explorative model of mission by engaging mission studies with translation studies in philosophy of language. The realization that mission studies, with its focus on the gospel text, missionary-interpreter and receptor community, shares structural commonalities with the central categories of translation studies inspires this engagement between disciplines. Our proposal is that mission as translation is necessarily a fusion of these three horizons. Finally, we test this model in the Lotha Naga context, ending with broad implications for mission studies. The article examines the language of Urdu literature. It explores the misunderstanding regarding the consideration of Urdu as the language of Muslims and Hindi for Hindus in Pakistan, noting the issue of not considering Urdu as a national and official language of the Indian Union. He says researcher Prator's work reflects world of heresies in Teaching English as a Second Language( TESL) and describes it as "the seven attitudinal sins." He says that the research work of Prator is a sociolinguistically important document because it shows an attitude of an educated speaker and his perception of how his language should be used by those who use it as a foreign or second language. It establishes an identity with the speech community of another language based on the identical language attitudes.
