Wheat is one of the major staple cereal food crops in India. However, most of the wheat-growing areas experience several biotic and abiotic stresses, resulting in poor quality grains and reduced yield. To ensure food security for the growing population in India, there is a compelling need to explore the untapped genetic diversity available in gene banks for the development of stress-resistant/tolerant cultivars. The improvement of any crop lies in exploring and harnessing the genetic diversity available in its genetic resources in the form of cultivated varieties, landraces, wild relatives, and related genera. A huge collection of wheat genetic resources is conserved in various gene banks across the globe. Molecular and phenotypic characterization followed by documentation of conserved genetic resources is a prerequisite for germplasm utilization in crop improvement. The National Genebank of India has an extensive and diverse collection of wheat germplasm, comprising Indian wheat landraces, primitive cultivars, breeding lines, and collection from other countries. The conserved germplasm can contribute immensely to the development of wheat cultivars with high levels of biotic and abiotic stress tolerance. Breeding wheat varieties that can give high yields under different stress environments has not made much headway due to high genotypes and environmental interaction, non-availability of truly resistant/tolerant germplasm, and non-availability of reliable markers linked with the QTL having a significant impact on resistance/tolerance. The development of new breeding technologies like genomic selection (GS), which takes into account the G × E interaction, will facilitate crop improvement through enhanced climate resilience, by combining biotic and abiotic stress resistance/tolerance and maximizing yield potential. In this review article, we have summarized different constraints being faced by Indian wheat-breeding programs, challenges in addressing biotic and abiotic stresses, and improving quality and nutrition. Efforts have been made to highlight the wealth of Indian wheat genetic resources available in our National Genebank and their evaluation for the identification of trait-specific germplasm. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relation between well being of individuals (in terms of life satisfaction) and their financial risk perceptions. Also, this study attempts to understand the investment behaviour of middle class in India belonging to 3 occupational categories- public sector employees, private sector employees and the self employed (entrepreneurs). Due to the changing demographics, economic and social landscape of the Indian society, it is essential to determine whether the present well-being of the citizens is related to their attitudes towards financial risk. This becomes all the more imperative as the Indian society becomes more risk-tolerant over the years. Financial Risk attitude describes affective feelings of like or dislike towards a scenario involving financial risk that have an influence on financial decision making and behaviour. Well being indicates the level at which an individual is satisfied with the present conditions of his/her life. Investment Behaviour reflects an individual's investment patterns. In our analysis, we divided our sample into 3 groups of self employed, private sector employees and public sector employees and proceeded to study the financial attitudes and investment behaviours of each group. We believe that studying risk perception and investment behaviour in the context of Indian economic environment can offer fresh interesting insights on the changing financial attitudes and responses of citizens of developing India. A strong and statistically significant positive correlation was found between life satisfaction and financial riskseeking attitude. Certain differences were noted in the magnitude and statistical significance ofthe correlation of the 2 variables for the 3 occupational categories. Primary Ewing sarcoma (ES) of the urinary bladder is a rare and aggressive small blue round cell malignant neoplasm associated primarily with translocation involving EWSR1 and FLI1 genes located in the 22nd and 11th chromosomes, respectively. To date, 18 cases have been published in the literature as single-case reports, based chiefly on CD99 positivity (17 patients). Molecular confirmation by fluorescence in situ hybridization was performed in 9 patients, and FLI1 immunohistochemical (IHC) analysis was not performed in any of these published cases. Herein, we present thirteen patients of more comprehensive primary round cell sarcomas of the urinary bladder with EWSR1 rearrangement. Clinicopathologic parameters including demographics; clinical presentation; histopathologic, IHC, and molecular profiles; and management and follow-up data of 13 patients with primary round cell sarcomas with EWSR1 rearrangement (Ewing family of tumor) of the urinary bladder were analyzed. The studied patients (n = 13) included 6 females and 7 males; their age ranged from 4 years to 81 years (median = 30 years). The most common clinical presentation was hematuria (n = 7), followed by hydronephrosis (n = 2, one with renal failure). The tumor size ranged from 2.9 cm to 15 cm in maximum dimension. Conventional ES architecture and histology was observed in 6 cases, and diverse histology was observed in 7 cases (adamantinomatous pattern [n = 1], alveolar pattern [n = 1], ganglioneuroblastoma-like pattern [n = 2], and small cell carcinoma-like pattern [n = 3]). All the tumors were muscle invasive (invasion into the muscularis propria). IHC analysis showed that all tumors expressed FLI1, CD99, and at least one neuroendocrine marker. Focal cytokeratin staining was positive in 2 patients, and RB1 was retained in all patients. EWSR1 rearrangement was seen in 12 of 12 tumors (in 12 patients) tested. A combined multimodal approach that included surgery with chemotherapy was instituted in all patients. Follow-up was available for 11 patients (ranging from 5 to 24 months). Six patients either died of disease (n = 3) or other causes (n = 3). Five patients were alive with metastases to the liver (n = 1), liver and lung (n = 2), liver and abdominal wall (n = 1), and kidney (n = 1). Based on our experience with the largest series to date and aggregate of the published data, ES/round cell sarcomas with EWSR1 rearrangement occurring in the bladder have bimodal age distribution with poor prognosis despite aggressive therapy. The paper emphasizes on nature of duties for nursing Informatics practicner, desirable skills, challenges and finally implementing nursing Informatics concept in India, in All india Institute of Medical sciences. For the first time the nursing informatics concept is used and implemented in India, and I am the part of this concept. I will be further sharing my experiences of Nursing informatics practice in India.

Background: Surgical site infections (SSI) are among the most commonly reported health care-associated infections; however, there is a paucity of data on SSI from India. This study aimed to determine the incidence of SSI and explore its associated factors at a teaching hospital in India., Methods: Direct and indirect surveillance methods, based on Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, were used to define SSI. Patients were followed up for 30 days postsurgery. Prescribing and resistance data were collected., Results: The SSI rate among the 720 patients investigated was 5%. Risk factors for SSI identified were as follows: severity of disease (P = .001), presence of drains (P = .020), history of previous hospitalization (P = .003), preoperative stay (P = .005), wound classification (P < .001), and surgical duration (P < .001). Independent risk factors identified included wound classification (odds ratio = 4.525; P < .001) and surgical duration (odds ratio = 2.554; P = .015). Most patients (99%) were prescribed antibiotics. Metronidazole (24.5%), ciprofloxacin (11%), and amikacin (9%) were the most commonly prescribed antibiotics. Most commonly isolated bacteria were Staphylococcus aureus (n = 14), of which 34% were methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (n = 6), which showed resistance to ceftazidime (70%), ciprofloxacin (63%), and gentamicin (57%)., Conclusion: Incidence of SSI at the hospital was lower than reported in many low- and middle-income countries, although higher than reported in most high-income countries.
