Abstract

The article focuses on the plans of the Indian telecom department (DoT) to take a view on the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India's (TRAI) demand for a national "priority call routing" (PCR) system to distress during emergencies. It adds that the committee formed under the plan will examine TRAI's recommendation on priority routing of calls to people engaged in response and recovery operations during disasters.
