The oral health of children in Indonesia is still worrying and needs serious attention from health workers. In Indonesia, only 2.8% of children brush their teeth the right way. It is recommended for children to brush teeth with fones technique. The fones technique is a tooth brushing technique at an early age that is easy to do. Interruption with audiovisual media can attract more children's attention in understanding the topics. The aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness of fones technique education using audiovisual media on student's knowledge in maintaining oral health. A quasi experimental study with pre-test and post-test one group was conducted on among students of a primary school at Payakumbuh, West Sumatra, Indonesia. The pre-test and post-test were carried out guided by the studyer using an electronic questionnaire. Students were provided with audiovisual media after being given a pretest. The results of this study were tested by SPSS using the Mann Whitney test which showed significant results with a p <0.001 The frequency distribution for each question in the pretest ranges from 21.2% to 97%, increasing to 40.9 to 100% in posttest after intervention with audiovisual media education. Each year, approximately 12 million girls worldwide enter into marriage before reaching the age of 18. In East Kalimantan Province, data from the 2020 National Socio-Economic Survey revealed that 11.54% of women aged 20-24 had experienced early marriage, surpassing Indonesia's average. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of audiovisual and printed health education media in enhancing the knowledge of young women about early marriage. A quasi-experimental approach was adopted, involving 32 young women aged 15-18 from a public high school in Borneo. The study measured the knowledge change in young women and their parents through questionnaires. Data analysis consisted of descriptive and inferential procedures, including normality tests, homogeneity tests, paired t tests, and analysis of variance tests. The findings demonstrated that audiovisual media significantly improved young women's awareness of early marriage (p<0.005). The study encourages midwives and healthcare professionals to employ effective health education media, particularly audiovisual tools, in educational settings to combat early marriage practices. Aerosol therapy, a treatment for children with disorders of the respiratory system, often causes distress, especially in young children. Distress during aerosol therapy can decrease the effectiveness of the treatment. This study aimed to determine the effect of audiovisual distraction on distress levels and oxygenation status (measured by oxygen saturation and respiratory frequency) in children who receive aerosol therapy for disorders of the respiratory system. A quasi-experimental design was employed, specifically a non-equivalent control group, pre-test–post-test design. The study sample consisted of 38 children who were divided into 2 groups (control and intervention), each group consisting of 19 children. The results of this study showed that there were significant differences in distress scores between the control group and the intervention group (p = .0001). There were also significant differences in the mean value changes in oxygenation status before and after intervention between the control and intervention groups. These findings could be used to prevent distress and increase oxygenation status in children who receive aerosol therapy. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]

Background and Objective: Low motivation to quit smoking affects individual smoking behavior. Health education using audiovisual media can increase smokers' motivation to quit smoking. The objective of this study was to determine the effectiveness of health education using audiovisuals on the Santri smokers' motivation to stop smoking., Methods: This quasi-experimental study was carried out using a pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study included Santri smokers studying at the Traditional Islamic Boarding School in Aceh Besar . This study consisted of 4 groups. Three groups were given intervention (audiovisual health education with different themes) and one group received just health education. Groups were compered in terms of difference in the mean smokers' motivation to quit smoking. The data analysis was done by running paired t-test and one-way ANOVA., Results: The results of statistical tests showed that there was a difference in the mean motivation to quit smoking before and after the intervention in each group (mean ± SD for group 1 to 4 was 11.52 ± 4.76, 15.39 ± 6.06, 22.57 ± 6.23, and 9.84 ± 6.42, respectively). The highest increase in the mean motivation to quit smoking was allocated to group 3 who received audiovisual health education with the theme of risk of developing cancer due to smoking., Conclusion: Health education using audiovisuals could increase the motivation of students to quit smoking, especially interventions on the risk of developing cancer due to smoking. Therefore, health workers are suggested to use audiovisuals to implement various intervention in order to change smoking behavior in students.
