This article explores the relationship between digital finance, human capital, and urban innovation in Indonesia. The study uses data from 98 cities in Indonesia from 2000 to 2021 and employs a two-step system generalized method of moments estimation model to analyze the data. The results show that digital finance has a significant positive impact on urban innovation, with the level of impact varying across different cities. The study also emphasizes the role of human capital in driving innovation and highlights the importance of traditional finance in moderating the effect of digital finance on urban innovation. The findings suggest that city governments should focus on developing digital financial infrastructure to support urban innovation, particularly in cities with low commercial attractiveness.
