Since 2015, sustainable development has become the leading goal of all development at the global level. Human development is a crucial aspect of sustainable development planning and strategies. This study analyzes the impact of public policies on the Human Development Index (HDI) in 34 Indonesian provinces from 2015-2020. The study examines budget allocations for education, health, general allocation funds, population, and employment factors. This study employs panel data regression models for different province groups, including all provinces, non-expansion provinces, and expansion provinces. The results indicate that the education budget and population have a positive effect on HDI, while the health budget does not affect HDI in any of the models. However, the general allocation of funds and labor force participation rate have different effects in different models. Therefore, it is suggested that education policies have had more impact than health policies on improving human capital in Indonesia. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs of Indonesia, has issued the latest 2017 Map of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. The 2017 NKRI Map is the proposed naming of the sea space, which was previously known as part of the South China Sea (SCS), to the North Natuna Sea. Therefore, this study aims to: (1) analyse how the legality of the sovereign rights of the Republic of Indonesia in the North Natuna Sea-based United Nations Convention on the law the Sea 1982; and (2) analyse how the Indonesian government responds in the North Natuna Sea. This research uses normative research methods. The results show that based on UNCLOS 1982, Indonesia has the legality to exercise sovereign rights in the North Natuna Sea. The Republic of Indonesia confirms that there is no dispute with China in the North Natuna Sea because China's claims are not legal or not based on United Nations Convention on the law the Sea 1982. There is a need for a study on the seismic performance of foundations to facilitate the implementation of performance-based design for bottom structures in Indonesia. To address this need, two series of experimental studies were conducted specifically on spun pile-to-pile cap connections, which are commonly used in Indonesia. The objective of the study was to analyze the performance of these connections and their post-repair behavior. Two specimens were tested: one with an empty pile (SPPC01) and another with a concrete-filled pile (SPPC03). Despite the limited confinement of the piles, both specimens exhibited ductile behavior, achieving displacement ductility within the range of 3.0 to 6.0. The test found that the connections were capable of developing the inelastic stage of the prestressed bars. Both specimens experienced irreparable damage due to fractures in the bars. They were repaired using Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) and retested. The specimens showed some differences in their behavior. SPPC01R exhibited rocking with uplift because the connection was merely embedded, while SPPC03R, which had sufficient embedment, experienced FRP fracture. Although the stiffness of the connections could not be fully restored, the repaired specimens demonstrated a strength recovery of 71% and 86% compared to the original specimens and were able to reach 87% of the design strength. Additionally, they exhibited ductile behavior with ductility ranging from 3.43 to 6.9. To conclude, the typical spun pile connections in Indonesia show ductile behavior. For optimal repairability, it is advised to fill the pile with reinforced concrete, particularly in the connection area. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Religion-motivated terrorism still substantially affected Indonesia in recent years. Whole-of-government and whole-of-society had attempted counter-terrorism efforts to combat radical-terrorism from all possible aspects. Nevertheless, analyses and studies regarding mental disorders are still neglected in Indonesian counter-terrorism policies. The current law for dealing with perpetrators of terrorism does not consider their mental disorders. The writing reviews the experiences of two former terrorism convicts in Indonesia who experience mental disorders from law and psychological perspectives. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study model through in-depth interviews and document studies. As a result, the research prioritizes the development of studies on the issue of mental disorders in terrorism prevention policies in Indonesia while building social awareness. This paper is an initial finding in providing an overview of the correlation between countering terrorism and mental disorders. It also encourages psychological intervention as a basic need and the government, professionals, and academics to collaborate in conducting further research as a foundation for formulating mental health-based counter-terrorism policies in Indonesia. This study aimed to introduce Nusantara culture based on educational games by adjusting students' learning styles. Culture as an ancestral heritage tradition needs to be preserved by introducing it to the younger generation from an early age. However, the survey results found that less than 26% of student respondents understood Nusantara culture well. Compared to previous research, the model of cultural introduction through adaptive educational games is more fun because it is adapted to the way students learn. This research was carried out using the Design-Based Research (DBR) method through 4 stages of the procedure. The feasibility test and application effectiveness test were carried out on a group of students from several elementary schools in Indonesia, who were taken using a cluster random sampling technique. The results of media design and content validation obtained an average value of 0.76 and 0.82, which means that the media is declared valid. The feasibility test used the System Usability Scale (SUS) with an average value of 80% in the acceptable category. The results of the research obtained a description of the comparison of the final scores of the control class and the experimental class, which was 55 compared to 75. This study concluded that learning media for introducing Indonesian culture based on adaptive educational games had a positive impact by effectively increasing learning outcomes on students' understanding of Indonesian culture. Experimental study was carried out on three low confinement spun piles to pile cap connections. The detail followed the typically fixed connection in Indonesia. Reinforced concrete was filled to the spun pile to strengthen the connection region, except SPPC01. Different concrete types were used, shrinkage and non-shrinkage for SPPC02 and SPPC03, respectively. SPPC02 and SPPC03 could reach the targeted drift of 3.5% whereas SPPC01 was stopped at a drift of 2.75%. There was no shear failure detected during the test. The connection behaved as a fixed connection indicated by the fracture failure of the prestressed bars near the connection region. Analysis of the test results focused on displacement ductility. Two definitions of yield and ultimate displacement were employed to seek the possible ductility values. It varied from 3.05 to 6.04 for SPPC01 and from 3.01 to 4.95 for SPPC02 and SPPC03. The non-shrinkage concrete did not affect the strength of the connection but slightly improved the post-peak behavior. The ductility is 6-12% higher than spun piles with ordinary concrete. According to the limited ductility referring to ATC 96, JRA 2002, and AASHTO 2011, all specimens could achieve target ductility 3. Damage to fixed offshore platforms can affect their structural integrity in addition to environmental conditions. Inspections are important because they aim to detect and control defects or damage to make repairs and carry out maintenance, if necessary, to reduce the possibility of failure. This study aims to determine the factors that affect inspections of fixed offshore platforms in Indonesia. To determine these factors, questionnaires were distributed to experts, including senior practitioners and Ph.D. academics, involved in offshore platforms. For data processing, we first used descriptive statistics based on the mean and SD to indicate the ranking of a factor's importance. Secondly, we performed factor analyses to summarize the information contained in multiple factors. The two methods are carried out to complement each other in determining the factors formed from the respondents' assessments. This study finds three factors in inspections of fixed offshore platforms based on the percentage variance: the first factor is environmental conditions, the second is structural design, and the third is anomalies and defects. By knowing these factors, such comprehension can be used as a consideration in conducting inspections. Purpose - This paper analyzes the determinants of micro and small enterprise company performance and its employees in Indonesia using a data set covering 2010 - 2019. Method - This study uses the robust estimation of the panel data regression method to estimate an alternative least squares regression that does not require strict assumptions and is not sensitive to outliers. Findings - The study's findings are as follows: 1) Improving resources, markets, entrepreneurs, and institutions has different impacts on business performance and workers' compensation due to the complexity and size of businesses, 2) The formal education of micro and small business entrepreneurship and institutionalization of partnerships have improved workers' compensation but not business performance, 3) Improving resource access, market orientation, and policies indirectly implemented by the Creative Economy Agency have improved business performance but not workers' compensation. Therefore, programs aimed at enhancing productivity of entrepreneurs and workers through partnerships are a key factor in improving the competitiveness of micro and small enterprises. Originality - Four determinants of the business environment of micro and small enterprises were analyzed to determine their impact on entrepreneur and worker performance, in order to identify the key factors contributing to the successful empowerment of these businesses. This study investigates the influence of sectoral financing concentration on the profitability of Islamic banking in Indonesia. The data is aggregated by Indonesian Islamic banks from January 2015 to June 2021. Islamic banks are divided into two, namely Islamic commercial banks and Islamic window banks. The study used Autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) and Panel Mean Group (PMG). The results showed that sectoral financing concentration increased the profitability of Islamic commercial banks while diversification of sectoral financing boosted the profitability of Islamic window banks. In addition, this study also showed that size and inefficiency negatively affected the profitability of Islamic commercial banks and window banks. This result implies that the right sectoral financing policy for Islamic commercial banks is financing concentration. This strategy implies that Islamic commercial banks must build competitiveness in certain sectors of the economy. For this reason, there is a need to increase the skills of the worker to build a competitive advantage in the sector that is the focus of financing. In comparison, sectoral financing diversification is more applicable for Islamic window banks. Use of antibiotics using qualitative methods from January to December 2021 there is 53 case patient which has observed, rated from the accuracy of the indication, the dose of antibiotics, duration gift, long gift, route, intervals gift and price antibiotics obtained results 74 % use antibiotics already correct/rational and 26 % prescription which still not yet right/irrational. Use antibiotics which rational could prevent happening antibiotic resistance. use which right/right will optimizing effectiveness antibiotics in hinder the development of good bacteria in the right indication, the right dose, the right administration, the right route that benefits in process service use therapy antibiotics which true/correct. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of school zoning policies on equal access to education for underprivileged students in Yogyakarta City. This research was motivated by the low quality and inadequate access to education for underprivileged students in Indonesia. Starting in 2018, the Central Government implemented a school zoning policy to improve the quality and equitable access to education for underprivileged families in every region. This research was carried out in 16 State Junior High Schools in Yogyakarta City. This was the research location because it was one of the national pilot areas chosen by the Central Government. A quantitative approach was used to evaluate secondary school data before and after the implementation of the zoning policy. The results showed that: (1) there was an increase in access to education for underprivileged students; and (2) the imbalance in the quality of favorite and non-favorite schools did not change and this was influenced by the economic conditions of each region. It can be concluded that the school zoning policy increased equal access to education for underprivileged students, but the next challenge for the Yogyakarta City Government is ensuring equal quality of education across junior high schools. Mansonia is a genus of mosquitoes of which several species are confirmed vectors of lymphatic filariasis. Many countries including Indonesia are still struggling to eliminate lymphatic filariasis. Report of the Mansonia mosquito diversity and its distribution is essential to develop the control strategies. Six of eight Mansonia species have been confirmed as lymphatic filariasis vectors in Indonesia. This paper aims to update the distribution of the Mansonia mosquito in Indonesia. Species distribution data were summarized from various literature regarding the Mansonia mosquito. The data is complemented by the results of the National Research on Disease Vector and Reservoir (Rikhus Vektora) results conducted by the National Institute of Health Research and Development (NIHRD) in 2015-2018. There were new distribution records for four species of Mansonia mosquitoes in Indonesia. Mansonia annulata Leicester, Ma. annulifera (Theobald), and Ma. indiana Edwards are now recorded distributed throughout the archipelago. Meanwhile, Ma. bonneae Edwards has a new distribution record in the Moluccas. The illustrated identification key for female Mansonia mosquitoes in Indonesia is provided in this paper. This research examines how social solidarity is formed in cyberspace virtually through the crowdfunding platform Kitabisa.com. This research was conducted using qualitative descriptive methods. The research was carried out through two stages, namely analyzing web content, and after that, a phenomenological stage was carried out to discover how the social solidarity of funders was formed in the crowdfunding of Kitabisa.com. The results of the study found that the development of the crowdfunding movement in Indonesia was on a good track in accordance with the values of social solidarity which involved the community to help each other in the form of social participation based on information and communication technology innovation that was linked through social networking and interactivity in cyberspace. Social solidarity formed through crowdfunding platforms is organic social solidarity. Naturally, not all researchers can develop their own software to search for academic publications from digital libraries. Nevertheless, at several stages of their research, they will need to search digital libraries for relevant scientific publications and bibliometric information. There are typically two approaches used by researchers to search for scientific publications: (i) using Google Scholar search, or (ii) using publication metadata available from several sources, such as CrossRef and publishers. However, in developing countries like Indonesia, neither option provided users with complete information, since (i) Google Scholar does not provide bibliometric details, and (ii) complete bibliometric information from other sources is often not available due to incomplete data (e.g., CrossRef) or the necessity to pay a subscription fee (e.g., Springer and Elsevier). The development of Search Engine for Research Articles (SEforRA) is a solution to this issue which provides researchers with bibliometricready publication metadata. SEforRA extracts and processes data from CrossRef, publishers, and other sources to provide an integrated platform for researchers to search and retrieve publication metadata, which is ready to use further in their research. The approach towards disasters in Indonesia was initially responsive, sectoral and centralized, but this has changed to one that is preventive, multi-sectoral, decentralized and centered on disaster risk reduction, including through disaster education. Such education should be given to everyone in Indonesia. In addition, disaster management is conducted with a territorial approach, not one based on administrative areas. Disasterprone areas in Indonesia have been mapped, including those susceptible to geological disasters, such as earthquakes, tsunamis, liquefaction, volcanic eruptions and landslides. However, not everyone understands spatial information related to disaster. The spatial information learning for disaster will be able to increase knowledge, capacity and skills, in order to be able to build awareness of disaster hazards to reduce disaster risk. Disaster mitigation efforts through the spatial information for disaster learning include activities such as 1) preparing and describing the spatial information for disaster; 2) socializing the spatial information for disaster understanding to increase disaster awareness; 3) knowing the benefits of the spatial information for disaster for self-rescue; and 4) conducting spatial analysis to organize disaster-prone areas and reduce disaster threats. The strategy for disaster learning is conducted through learning by doing, including conceptual and practical approaches, and having a strong conscious attitude. The spatial information for disaster will provide basic knowledge of disasters to determine their forms, processes, potential threats, vulnerabilities, capacities and disaster risks. Rubus spp. (wild raspberries) is one of genera belongs to Rosaceae, also distributed in the mountain forest of Indonesia. It has a high potency to be cultivated plant. Although, some of the potential of Rubus has already known, information of about fruit nutrients of species that distribute in the mountain forest of Indonesia are not known yet. This study was aimed to determine the fruit nutrients of five species of wild raspberries that was collected in Cibodas Botanical Garden. The results of our experiments demonstrate that the fruits nutrients contents varied among five species of wild raspberries from Indonesian mountain's forests. Rubus fraxinifolius has the highest content of sugar (5.05 g sugar per 100 g fruits) compared to Rubus rosifolius , Rubus chrysophyllus , Rubus lineatus and raspberry. During the ripening and ripe period, there were a different value of vitamin C and iron contents. The highest vitamin C of R. fraxinifolius (83.65 mg/100 gram) on the ripening fruit stage II. On the other hand, the highest vitamin C of R. rosifolius (54.30 mg/100 gram) found on the stage of ripe fruit. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purposes of this study are to analyze source of SME competitiveness in selected industry clusters in Indonesia and to develop a theoretical model of SME competitiveness. This study employs quantitative design with multivariate model. We develop three models of estimation by using multiple regression analysis. Our models are based on Porter Model of Competitiveness (1990) which contains factor condition, demand condition, related and supporting industries and business strategy. Findings in this study idenntify sources of the competitiveness of SME in the level of innovation, entrepreneurship, human capital, financial resources, potential market and business strategy. Limitation of this study lies in the SME model of competitiveness based on cross sectional data which is not feasible for analysis of the dynamic aspect of competitiveness sources. [Display omitted] • Reducing global warming through cofiring involves supply flow analysis to gradually replace fossil by oil palm fibre. • Supply flow is modelled using linear programming for oil palm mill, pellet plant, and power plant. • At a 1% cofiring rate, 6 of 7 pellet plants are needed to reduce 1.57% impact compared to single firing of coal. • Ranges analysis implies the tolerable emission of 6 pellet plants for supply stability. • Economic consideration reveals 3 of 7 pellet plants can be constructed with slight impact changes. This study addresses the supply flow optimization to reduce global warming in a cofiring system, using the example of oil palm empty fruit bunches converted into pellets for use in power plants in Indonesia. Four oil palm mills, seven pellet plants and five coal power plants in the West Java Region were considered in this study to select the optimal supply chain. The study was performed using a life cycle assessment (LCA) for evaluating impact of single firing of coal and linear programming (LP) for optimizing the impact reduction of cofiring of coal and pellets. Our study indicates that the optimal environmental reduction can be achieved by constructing six of the seven pellet plants, which can substitute up to 1 % of the coal supply in five power plants. Accordingly, the emissions could be decreased by an average of 0.018 kg CO 2 eq/kWh for the power plants, which is equal to 0.2 Mt CO 2 eq/y or a 1.57 % reduction per year. By varying the emission factor of the pellet plants, our analysis showed a tolerable range in which the supply would not be affected. The sensitivity analysis at a 1 % cofiring rate showed that the increase in biomass supply from the oil palm mills had the highest reduction, whereas the reduction in transportation emissions provided much less impact. By adjusting the cofiring rate, the impact would not change after the 3 % cofiring rate because of the limited availability of Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) feedstock. However, if sufficient supply could be provided, the environmental impact would be further reduced significantly. Furthermore, the scenario expansion indicated that only three pellet plants would be required for the minimum economic scale of production, although the environmental impact increased by 0.47 % compared to using six pellet plants. Therefore, this study can be used to determine the optimal supply chain scenarios by constructing an appropriate number of economically feasible pellet plants according to the biomass demand and cofiring rate of the power plant.
