Introduction: A nursing rehabilitation Kardex and reports could act as a framework to facilitate and organize rehabilitation programs. Objectives: This study aimed to design a special Kardex and a structure to rehabilitation nursing reports. Methods: This study was carried out in two phases consisting of literature review and Delphi method in Rofideh Rehabilitation Hospital, Tehran, Iran. In the first phase, a diverse literature review was done. PubMed, Elsevier, Web of Science, and Google Scholar as a search engine were searched using the keywords of Kardex, "nursing report," "nursing note," "nursing rehabilitation," "nursing Kardex" from 2010 to 2020. After a literature review, the first draft of the Kardex was made. In the next step, using the Delphi method, the initial Kardex was sent to rehabilitation nursing experts in four rounds, and their comments were applied on that. Results: The rehabilitation nursing Kardex was prepared after four rounds. The Kardex content included "Evaluation of nutritional needs," "Requirements for daily living," "Patients' education," "Examination of bedsores," "Fall prevention," and "communication with rehabilitation departments (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy)." Conclusion: Rehabilitation Kardex and nursing report sample can be used as a suitable tool to promote patients' independence in rehabilitation centers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective Neurogenic bladder (NB) is one of the most common causes of urinary incontinence, and its many long-term problems negatively affect patients' quality of life, especially women, due to a lack of social roles. Due to the chronic nature of this disorder, the implementation of rehabilitation nursing interventions to improve the quality of life of these patients has been recommended. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of multidimensional rehabilitation nursing intervention of urinary incontinence on the quality of life of young and middle-aged women with neurogenic bladder. Materials & Methods The present research was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test-post-test design that was conducted in Rofeideh Rehabilitation Hospital, Tehran, Iran, in 2021. Data were collected from 30 young and middle-aged women aged 18 to 60 years admitted with neurogenic bladder. The samples completed the demographic questionnaire and incontinence quality of life questionnaire (I-QOL) before and 6 weeks after the intervention during follow-up. Multidimensional rehabilitation nursing intervention of urinary incontinence included two-part training sessions: 1) clean intermittent catheterization and 2) behavioral therapy (Time voiding, delaying urination, diet, and medication) in 7 30-minutes sessions of training conducted daily and individually face-to-face in the first week and then a follow-up of patients in 5 weeks (second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth weeks), one session per week in the form of virtual classes and online video calls in WhatsApp application. The collected data were analyzed in SPSS software version 25 using one-way ANOVA and paired t-test at a significance level of 0.05. Results Most participants were 20-30 years old (30%) and married (53.3%). Before and after the intervention, the quality of life of patients with neurogenic bladder disorder increased from 46.46±11.07 to 66.23±9.46, which was statistically significant (t=14.20, P<0.0001). Also, psychosocial impacts due to the disease were reduced based on one of the three subscales of the quality of life questionnaire. In addition, quality of life was significantly lower in younger, unemployed, single, spinal cord injury, body odor, and people with a neurogenic bladder disease diagnosis period of less than one year (P<0001). Conclusion According to our findings, clean intermittent catheterization and behavioral therapy could significantly improve patient's quality of life with NB. BACKGROUND: Safety climate is a common insight of staff that indicates individuals' attitudes toward safety and priority of safety at work. OBJECTIVES: Nursing is a risky job where paying attention to safety is crucial. The assessment of the safety climate is one of the methods to measure the safety conditions in this occupation. The aim of this study was to assess the safety climate of rehabilitation nurses working in hospitals in Tehran. METHODS: This is a cross-sectional study which was carried out on 140 rehabilitation nurses selected from all hospitals and clinics in Tehran in 2019. To collect the required data, a two-section questionnaire was used. The first section was related to demographic factors and the second part (22 statements) was to measure the safety climate using nurses' safety climate assessment questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS V16 using independent t-test, ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney U test at the 5% level. RESULTS: Findings showed that the total mean of safety climate was 3.06±0.56. According to the results, a significant difference was found between the positive and negative satisfaction of nurses with safety climates (P-value = 0.03), communication with nurses (P-value = 0.01) and supervisors' attitude (P-value = 0.02). Furthermore, a significant difference in safety climate between the individual with the second job and the individual without second could be observed (P-value = 0.01). CONCLUSIONS: The results indicated that the safety climate was not at an acceptable level. Thus, it is essential to introduce safety training courses (e.g. safety, work-rest balance, and so on) and to improve the safety performance at work. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Adherence to rehabilitation regimens is a major issue in the treatment of stroke. Despite the agreement on the importance of adherence, there is still no clear definition of this concept in rehabilitation. The aim of this study was the concept analysis of the concept of adherence to rehabilitation regimens in stroke patients. Materials and Methods: This qualitative concept analysis was performed using Walker and Avant's method. English and Persian articles were searched using keywords such as "adherence", "compliance", "rehabilitation", "stroke", and other related keywords among articles published from 1997 to 2018 in PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, Iranmedex, Magiran, and Scientific Information Database (SID). Related textbooks were also searched and all articles containing definitions, attributes, antecedents, and consequences of the concept were included in the study. Results: The attributes of the concept included complex, multidimensional, and dynamic behavior in the treatment process, personal experience, and adaptive behavior in patients, changeable, situational, voluntary, and collaborative behavior, and active communication between the patient and the healthcare provider. Common antecedents of the concept of adherence to the rehabilitation regimen were classified into patient-related and environmental-related categories and the consequences were classified into the three categories of patient-related, healthcare professional-related, and healthcare system-related. Conclusions: This concept analysis can be useful in eliminating any ambiguity of the concept of adherence to rehabilitation regimens. It helps clarify the vague concepts used in nursing rehabilitation instead of adherence. The results of this study can be helpful for researchers for further studies in this context. Background/purpose: Hemodialysis contributes to changes in lifestyle and the health status of patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of participatory rehabilitation on the quality of life of patients.Methods: This quasi-experimental before and after study was conducted on 30 patients in the hemodialysis center at Hazrat-e-Rasoul Hospital in Javanrood during 2013. The rehabilitation program was executed with participation of experts in the fields of nursing, physiotherapy, and clinical psychology for 8 weeks. The instrument used for data collection was the hemodialysis version of Ferrans and Powers Quality of Life Index (QLI) which was completed by the research assistant by interview before and after the rehabilitation program.Results: The mean age of patients was 55.8 ± 14.3 years, 60% were male, and 93.3% were married. The average duration of hemodialysis was 3 ± 2.4 years. The quality of life score of all patients before the intervention was between 10 and 19 (moderate level), which after intervention, improved to a good level in half of the patients (p < 0.001).Conclusion: Rehabilitation programs improve the quality of life of hemodialysis patients. By this finding, implementation of rehabilitation programs is recommended in hemodialysis centers with participation of experts from different fields including nurses, physiotherapists, and clinical psychologists. Nurses play a key role in providing rehabilitation care. In this regard, identifying the factors that affect their practice can be useful in planning to improve the quality of rehabilitation nursing care. This study aims to explore the experience of nurses and members of the rehabilitation team about barriers and facilitators of rehabilitation nursing care of patients with disability in the rehabilitation hospital. This qualitative study was conducted in the main public rehabilitation hospital in Tehran, Iran. Eighteen persons including 12 nurses in clinical and managerial positions, an occupational therapist, a physical medicine specialist, a patient, and an informal caregiver participated in this study. Participants were selected based on purposeful sampling. Data were collected through 18 in-depth semi-structured interviews and analyzed based on qualitative content analysis principles. Three themes were derived from the data analysis, which represented Barriers and facilitators related to nurses (specialized knowledge and skills, psychological status, mentoring, professional communication), barriers and facilitators related to the work environment (nurses' performance evaluation, nursing workforce, comprehensive care facilities, workplace design, specialized unit), barriers and facilitators related to patients and caregivers (patient's participation in nursing care, patient adaptation, efficiency of formal caregivers). The experiences of the rehabilitation team shows that not only nurses, but also the environment, patients, and caregivers can affect the provision of care and change the quality of care. Purpose: To evaluate quality of life (QOL) of caregivers of severely disabled war survivors and identify variables threatening caregivers' QOL., Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed on 532 caregivers of Iran-Iraq war related injured survivors by using Persian version of 36-item Short Form Health Survey (SF-36)., Findings: Caregivers had lower QOL compared to the Iranian female population (p < .001). Caregivers of amputees had better SF-36 scores compared to caregivers of two groups of chemical warfare survivors (p ranging from .01 to <.001). Caregiving to chemical warfare and being married at the time of trauma were the independent predictors of poor QOL in both the physical component summary (OR = 5.08, 95% CI = 3.35-7.7; OR = 0.57, 95% CI = 0.37-0.89) and the mental component summary (OR = 4.12, 95% CI = 2.68-6.32; OR = 0.63, 95% CI = 0.40-0.98)., Conclusion and Clinical Relevance: Caregivers of war veterans suffer from poor QOL.
