An innovated engineering management platform has been adopted to limit the factors affecting epidemics spread, predicting future infection, and development of crowded, healthy, smart, and self-sufficient (HSSS) cities. The platform has proven to be effective in redesigning the city's infrastructure structure according to a developing city and the international standards of HSSS city to insuring a minimum number of infections. The platform itself is based on Weka Software and generalized extreme value distribution for prediction missing historical data of the case study (Covid-19 in Hillah city, mid-Iraq). The output results reveal that the percentage decrease in the number of infections of developing city scenario was between 39.3% - 100% on Jan and between 6.5% - 25.7% on Jul in the year 2030. While for HSSS scenario, the percentage decrease in infections number was found between 60.3% - 100% on Jan and 30.5% - 75.2% on Jun. The findings are that the infections number reducing is mainly depended on the possibility of infrastructures reframing and climatic conditions which are unfortunately uncontrollable. The effects of electromagnetic interference on people health, plants, electrical and telecommunications devices, and transmission lines. Electrostatic effects are caused by a wide range of high transmission line voltages, whereas electromagnetic effects are because of high short-circuit and lines flow currents. 132 kV double circuit tower topologies may be simulated using a mathematical model where it used in this work to examine electro-magnetic fields in 132 kV High Voltage Transmission Lines (HVTL) and calculate their levels and thus estimate generated Electromagnetic Interference (EMI). Based on Computer Assisted Analysis (CAA), Fields and Corona Effects (FACE) software were used to calculate that. Transmission lines of frequency 50 Hz in Iraq create a sturdy magnetic field, which varies depending on the spacing from HVTL and the line arrangement according to this study. An increase in current causes them Magnetic Field (MF) and Electric Field (EF) to make the distance between the tower and the conductors decrease. Voltage is directly related to the intensity of EF, whereas MF are directly related to the flow of current. Magnetic field which created by a distribution line that carries a high current load may be as strong as that of a high voltage transmission line. This study can be utilized to evaluate a harvesting strategy for these effects as a micro-power source for small consumption devices like sensors and monitor cameras for Iraq's HVTL towers. The study aims to demonstrate the health and environmental impact of cell phone towers and device radiation, which is an electromagnetic radiation of the type of non-ionizing radio waves within the electromagnetic spectrum. In Iraq, the towers were erected randomly by luring the citizens with some privileges, for the purpose of erecting towers over their homes, which led to health and environmental damages and also led to the distortion of the features of cities. The study dealt with the effect of these radiations by conducting a number of experiments, studies and interviews with those who were affected by those radiations that caused many diseases and disorders, in addition to their impact on the environment. For the purpose of reducing the health and environmental impact of radiation emitted from cell phone towers and devices, The study touched on a set of technical and legal controls, as well as a set of recommendations, where the study clarified the technical controls in the installation of mobile phone network communication towers, the most prominent of which is that the height of the building to be constructed above its roof is in the range of 15-50 meters. In addition to legal controls, and position of the Iraqi legislator on the impact of radiation emitted from mobile phone towers and the protection of the affected citizen through several laws enacted by the Iraqi law. Also the study touched on the most important of which is the environmental impact assessment within the Iraqi Environmental Protection and Improvement Law. The study concluded with a set of recommendations and Suggestions, most notably preventing the establishment of new mobile phone networks within population centers or near public service places such as schools and universities, although moving them outside cities is better. This study will focus on the Kurdistan region of Iraq. Irrigation is an essential of agriculture, and the process of irrigation takes place by transfer of water from water source to farm. However, energy is the main aspect to consider when carrying out the irrigation process. Due to shortages of electricity and the high cost of diesel, there are difficulties in meeting the demands of irrigation. In this study, solar energy is considered as one way to design a solar water pump that can be used on farms in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. Photovoltaic solar panels have been assessed as a way to provide a successful solar water pump system with a minimum cost. The weather conditions for Duhok city in Kurdistan have been analysed to assess the solar water pump system for local use. The outcome of this study revealed that the solar water pump is applicable and can provide many benefits for the use of clean and renewable energy to transfer water from a water source to farms in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. 8. Implications of strategic photovoltaic deployment on regional electricity self-sufficiency by 2050: A case study in Iraq.

The study explored the impact of strategic photovoltaic (PV) deployment on regional electricity self-sufficiency in Iraq, offering key insights into the advantages and challenges of transitioning towards an energy-independent system by 2050. Findings indicate a noteworthy contribution of rising PV supply towards improved self-sufficiency, with a PV supply of 83.1 TWh catering to a total demand of 66.2 TWh in 2022, achieving a 76% self-sufficiency level. This suggests PV generation covers 76% of the districts electricity needs, thus bolstering energy security by reducing external energy source reliance. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the significance of expanded rooftop PV capacity to augment self-sufficiency and decrease dependency on conventional energy. Predictions suggest a potential rise in rooftop utilization for PV installations from 66% in 2022 to 88% by 2050, accentuating the need for policy initiatives to endorse and incentivize rooftop PV system adoption. The paper offers several recommendations, including the creation of supportive regulatory frameworks for PV integration, the introduction of financial incentives, capacity building initiatives, public awareness campaigns, grid modernization efforts, and regional energy planning which incorporates PV deployment considerations and sets self-sufficiency targets.. 9. Re-evaluating first impressions: Melanism in Hemorrhois nummifer (Reuss, 1834) from Kurdistan Region, Iraq.

We conducted genetic and morphological investigations on a snake specimen initially identified as the venomous species Walterinnesia morgani (Mocquard, 1905) from the family Elapidae, primarily based on its dark colouration. However, subsequent genetic analysis revealed a clear affiliation with the family Colubridae, specifically Hemorrhois nummifer (Reuss, 1834), which shares a partially sympatric distribution with the previously mentioned species in Iraq. This discovery represents the first documented record of such a coloured specimen of H. nummifer in Iraq, raising additional questions regarding possible mimicry and the possibility of confusion in species identifications. Systems for distributing electricity should be able to handle requirements such as high efficiency, low voltage fluctuation, and the integration of Renewable Energy Generators (REGs) into an intelligent grid. This paper depicts the operation of a power distribution grid that represents solutions for three optimization problems by finding the acceptable power loss configuration of the grid, the second is the so-called volt/Var optimization problem, finally compensating the voltage drop through the feeders far from the main source by sharing power from nearby REGs. A suggested developed configuration for a real radial system to make it more dependable and efficient is studied. Al-Block district as part of the Mosul province Distribution System (DS) is to be integrated with REGs besides switching spare feeds (spikes) to the main radial feeds considering fault occurs. The suggested method effects are assessed by comparing the grid performance before and after adding REGs and the spike feeders, where power flow calculations are carried out to find the best configurations for the developed grid after adding the feeder. The findings prove the enhancement of voltage profiles across feeders, voltage conservation, and power efficiency. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Rainwater Catchment System Reliability (RCSR) is the chance that a system will deliver the required water for an interval of time. Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) is gaining popularity as a potential alternative water source for household or agricultural use. The reliability of the Al Abila dam in the western desert of Iraq was analyzed using a water budget simulation model and two explanations of reliability, time-based reliability, and volumetric reliability. To evaluate rainwater harvesting system performance, comprehensive software utilizing a method for everyday water balance using data from 20 years of daily rainfall. According to the findings, volumetric reliability, and for the three climate scenarios (wet, average, and dry year), increased as the storage volume increased until a threshold accrued on the storage capacity of 11.7 × 10
5 m3 . While time-based reliability shows an increase up to a storage volume of 10.2 × 105 m3 . Volumetric reliability of roughly 34–75% may be achieved, while only 14–28% time-based reliability may be achieved. Water saving efficiency decreases with increasing demand fraction, while the runoff coefficient has no significant influence on water effectiveness. While growing storage fraction value increases the effectiveness of water conservation and the value of the runoff coefficient influences the water saving efficiency. For both cases, water saving efficiency for the dam does not reach 50%. Using daily rainfall data, the technique given in this paper might be applied to predict water savings and the RWH systems' reliability in different arid and semi-arid areas. Technological developments in recent decades in multiple fields have revolutionised the actions of armed forces, as recently confirmed in the war in Ukraine where NATO countries' artillery and missiles have undeniably outperformed the outdated spectrum of previous counter-insurgency actions, and the counter-battery fire of self-propelled weapons systems far exceeded the limits of the Iraq and Afghanistan theatres of operations, where such a response was easy to achieve because insurgent forces had no idea that such precise, coordinated and effective action was available at discovered targets. Drones have also become an inseparable part of military operations and have developed in an unprecedented way, being hardly detectable, precise, equipped with weaponry, radars, optoelectronic search means with sensors and modern communication and computer systems. Today, but especially in the future, the actions of drones and artillery means executing counter-battery fire will become indispensable in military operations to achieve desirable effects, and at the same time modern armies must have active and passive means of engagement and countermeasures against them to achieve effective force protection. The current research demonstrates the ERI method's effectiveness as a supplementary engineering site investigation approach. Engineering site research is important to indicate the subsoil of proposed production sites. The benefit of the dipole-dipole array for ERI electrical resistivity imaging is that it provides informative records of subsurface geology and condition along with profiles. The dipole-dipole array was performed along with three parallel profiles at the Diyala University site to identify the buried facilities (pipes and cables) in the area. The buried electric cable embedded in a plastic tube was used for simulation to report and verify the field resistivity results. Interpretation of field facts confirmed that the used ERI method was robust in locating buried structures. The dipole-dipole array's strong horizontal sensitivity to subsurface resistivity releases made it possible to provide greater certainty of site characteristics concerning the buried systems. Limestones have considerable commercial importance because they are used as building stones and are widely used for flooring and interior and exterior facings. On the other hand, the reserve calculation reveals the economic effectiveness of the investigation. This study aims to calculate the reserve of the middle Miocene limestone for engineering purposes. The limestone beds of the Nfayil Formation in Central Iraq have been studied over 15 outcrop sections. The Nfayil bed has an average thickness of about 1.64 m, while the overburden has an average of about 0.93 m. The average bulk density of limestone is 2.1 gm/cm3 . Kriging and triangulation method has been adopted and used in the calculation and assessment of reserve. The industrial layer was calculated based on the American classification, where the assessment is from the inferred reserve, which is according to the geological characteristics of the industrial layer, as well as the presence of a few wells obtained for the studied area (15 wells). The industrial bed's total reserve (tonnage) is 253,245,195 tons, which is acceptable for accuracy and reliability compared to the American system. Attending to connections between serious health conditions (cancers and congenital disorders) and weapons residues in Iraq, Afghanistan and Gaza, this article develops a geographical agenda for examining power in late modern war from the perspective of the ground and the life it sustains. A case is made for understanding the time-spaces of war as not compressed, vertical or remote but enduring, terranean and proximate in which violence emerges through processes (carcinogenic and teratogenic) that transcend boundaries between 'life' (bios) and 'nonlife' (geos).
