Due to gender inequality, women produce, nurture and educate generations by looking at the family's children, elderly and patients, as well as domestic work. Although the woman works in a paid job, she fulfills these duties arising from the patriarchal structure. Therefore, for the woman who is disadvantaged in urban life due to her gender roles, all the elements in the city should be planned by considering the woman. The women-friendly city project is a solution to overcome women's difficulties in urban life. The application ensures that women would not be deprived of urban facilities. in other words, they can be present in all areas of the city and they can participate in all the events within the city as citizens, voters, employees, mothers, the elderly, disabled people, etc. this paper evaluates the main factors affecting the use of urban open green spaces from the perspective of women-friendly city project and identifies certain criteria for urban open green spaces in which women's needs and demands are taken into full consideration. In determining these criteria, analyses, evaluations and inferences have been made regarding the existing urban light green areas in Bornova district in İzmir which is a woman friendly city. As a result, design suggestions were made in accordance with the light green space criteria determined within the scope of women friendly city. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
