A classification‐based control approach is proposed for wireless networked control systems with lossy multipacket transmission. This approach takes advantage of a state reconstruction process to deal with the distinct feature of partial failure of data transmission caused by multipacket transmission, and then classifies the difference of the latest received system states and reconstructed ones to design a classification‐based controller. The closed‐loop stability of the system is proven using the switched systems theory. By considering more communication characteristics of multipacket transmission, the proposed approach is shown to give rise to a better system performance by a numerical example. © 2019 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.
