Abstract

the article presents a study conducted by Toshiaki Sunazuka and Satoshi Ōmura, researchers in Tokyo, Japan, regarding the total synthesis of a novel bioactive microbial metabolite α-pyrone meroterpenoids. It emphasizes that a collection of microorganisms has been evaluated for metabolites that selectively inhibits a specific chemical compound, which has also led to the isolation and identification of novel Ō-pyrone meroterpenoids.
