Arcyria monticola was found in Hokkaido, northern Japan. This is the first record of its locality, except for the type locality. The linearly expanding capillitium with many coils characterizing A. monticola consists of very elastic longitudinal tubes, short lateral tubes, and many small intricate nets. A longitudinal tube coils around a small intricate net, which forms a core. In contrast, A. imperialis, the other known Arcyria species with a linearly expanding capillitium, has neither short lateral tubes nor nets. Geastrum berkeleyi, G. fornicatum, and G. minimum are newly recorded from Japan. A peristome of G. fornicatum has hitherto been described as indistinct, whereas the Japanese specimens have a well-delimited, fibrillose peristome. Geastrum minus, reported for the first time from Japan by Sanshi Imai, represents G. quadrifidum. Cycloanthranilylproline (1) and its derivatives (2--4) were isolated from field-collected fruit-bodies of a myxomycete Fuligo candida and their structures were elucidated by spectral data. Compound 4, which was contained in the water-soluble fraction of the extract of this myxomycete, was unstable and quite susceptible to decarboxylation to yield compound 2, which was a major constituent of the EtOAc-soluble fraction of this extract.

Cribrarione B (1), a new naphthoquinone pigment, has been isolated from the myxomycete Cribrariacancellata, and its structure was elucidated as 2,5,8-trihydroxy-6-(1-hydroxyethyl)-[1,4]-naphthoquinone by NMR and mass spectral data.

Three new naphthoquinone pigments, 6,7-dimethoxydihydrolindbladione (1), dihydrolindbladione (2), and 6-methoxydihydrolindbladione (3), have been isolated from a myxomycete Lindbladia tubulina, and their structures were elucidated by spectral data. Compound 3 appreciably exhibited a reversal effect of multidrug resistance. Lindbladione (4), the major pigment of this myxomycete, was also isolated from Cribraria intricata.
