The lack of a QMS will affect the manufacturing sector which leads to a complete failure because there will be a lot of wastage, rework, time wastage and loss of money. Quality assurance's main aim is to do regular and continuous assessment of the general project to meet quality standards. The quality management system ISO 9001 also helps manufacturing companies to ensure that they comply with satisfactory production procedures and other relevant management measures. The study set out to put the theoretical concepts of QMS into practice in the context of manufacturing sector in South Africa. The research took place in Johannesburg, South Africa. The scope of this research was limited to quality management in the manufacturing sector (manufacturing plant and warehouses) and employee participation in the introduction of QMS. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach. Data was gathered and analyzed using descriptive analysis. This indicates that the data was collected using a welldesigned questionnaire. The paper presents the data on the Exploratory Analysis of Factors involved in location decision factors of manufacturing and service SMMEs in Johannesburg, South Africa. This study is a descriptive exploratory study based on the importance and satisfaction of location decision factors. The statistical sample included manufacturing and service SMMEs owners or managers. A questionnaire adapted from previous studies was develop in order to collect data. The reliability and validity of the questionnaires were validated using SPSS. The Exploratory Factor Analysis technique was used to categorize, simplify, and explain location decision factors identified in the literature. Two hundred and eleven (211) questionnaires were collected and used in the analysis. The findings of the Exploratory Factor Analysis resulted in 12 main factors of location decision. Since Factor Analysis can lead to an infinite number of solutions, it was therefore up to the researcher to determine which one to choose. Hence, considerable researcher judgment was critical in conducting Exploratory Factor Analysis and achieving rational results. This research contributes in the body knowledge of operations management, precisely location decision. The aim of this study is to assess the gaps between the importance and satisfaction of location decision factors of manufacturing and service SMMEs located in Johannesburg (South Africa). The current study implemented a quantitative approach by using paired sample t-test to examine and compare responses of importance and satisfaction of location decisions. The study revealed that ten out of twelve factors present a significant gap between the importance and satisfaction of location decision. Factors such as cost, employment creation, rental rate, and green building present a negative significant gap between the two groups of comparison. Nevertheless, basic need present moderate gap. Factors including safe environment, social climate, proximity to supplier, proximity to competitors, proximity to customers however recorded positive mean difference on the two groups of comparison. This research contribute to knowledge of Operations Management, particularly in the arear of location decision. This research was done at Wadeville industrial park, located in Johannesburg, basically the area is still in progress of eco-industrialisation and much waste is being lost. Waste is one of the major environmental factors affecting sustainability. South Africa produces millions of tons of waste per year. The main aim of the study was to identify the nature and quantity the waste and identify most effective ways of disposal. The study was conducted using both the qualitative and quantitative research. The overall number of the industries that were given survey questionnaires and 19 responded and some are on the waiting list. The idea behind interviews was to find out what managers and supervisors of industries think about EIP, looking at the managers' perceptions and attitudes towards the idea. It was noted that Waste reduction and minimization efforts need to be increased and the problem clearly calls for going a step further by initiating an industrial ecology approach. Waste management is critical and pivotal in creating or establishing industrial symbiosis hence leading to sustainability.
