Abstract

The article presents the author's commentary on the article "Modern-Day Comfort Women: The U.S. Military, Transnational Crime, and the Trafficking of Women," by Donna M. Hughes, Katherine Y. Chon, and Derek P. Ellerman, which appeared in the September 2007 issue. The author argues that the sole responsibility for unsafe migration and labor issues between Korea and the United States should not be places on the U.S. military.
