The article focuses on a survey by the National Assembly Library of Korea on management of electronic theses at several university libraries in Korea. The survey found that 91 percent of the libraries are digitizing theses and dissertations, 73 percent had a copyright policy for electronic dissertations, while 46 percent libraries provided access to full-text via the Internet. The survey has reportedly investigated digitization, standardization, and information access and retrieval issues. The survey recommends standardization of metadata scheme for exchanging information between the member libraries and the implementation of an Integrated Electronic Thesis Dissertation (IETD) system model.
