Abstract

The F0 larva of Onychogomphus cazuma, of which only the final exuvia was known, is described, and illustrated for the first time, from materials collected in two locations in the Valencian Community (Spain). The morphological characteristics of the larvae are analysed, and a key is built for the determination of the five species of the genus Onychogomphus present in the Iberian Peninsula and the Maghreb. A key is also provided to separate the genus Gomphus from the genus Onychogomphus, without using the palp structure of the prementum. Additional data about the habitat of the species are provided and a protection figure is proposed at the regional level. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
