Chronically elevated blood pressure was a prominent risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. The management of hypertension, especially in community settings, should combine pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. This study aimed to evaluate whether music-assisted progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) using Gamelan, Javanese classical music, could reduce blood pressure more effectively in hypertensive elderly individuals in Malang, Indonesia, than PMR alone. This study employed a pre-test and post-test study design with a control group. Fifty-eight respondents were randomly assigned to the intervention group (n=31) and the control group (n=27). Three respondents in the control group did not complete the study; thus, they were excluded from the analysis. The intervention group was trained and guided to perform PMR while listening to Gamelan. Meanwhile, the control group only received PMR. The intervention was conducted twice a week for 20 minutes for eight weeks. Dependent variables in this study were systolic and diastolic blood pressure, which were measured using an aneroid sphygmomanometer. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired t-tests, independent t-tests, and Mann-Whitney test. We found a significant decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure in both groups. A Mann-Whitney test showed that there was a significant difference in the reduction of systolic blood pressure in the intervention group compared to the control group (p=0.000). Meanwhile, the independent t-test showed that the diastolic blood pressure in the intervention group reduced more significantly than that in the control group. The efficacy of Gamelan-assisted PMR in significantly reducing both systolic and diastolic blood pressure showcases the potential of such combined interventions in managing hypertension. Water quality is an essential component in effective water management, specifically in the reservoir planning. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the water quality of the Malang Suko Reservoir, Malang Regency, Indonesia, by examining temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), chemical oxygen demand (COD), and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5). To achieve this goal, the dynamic system approach for reservoir management was employed, and the software used for water quality modelling was the System Thinking Educational Learning Laboratory with Animation (Stella). The analysis considered several contributing factors, such as settlements, agriculture, and temperature. The results showed that the water quality status of the Malang Suko Reservoir was moderately polluted. The dynamic subsystem simulation had a high level of accuracy with a mean absolute percentage error of 1.1% and 0% for the settlement and agricultural submodels, respectively. Therefore, several scenarios for managing the inflow of waste into the reservoir were suggested, with the role of the community being the most crucial. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Self-care management is the way to prevent the complication in diabetes. However, adherence to self-care management is low. This study aims to assess the association of personal characteristics, supports the system, including families and community, with the self-care behavior among diabetes patients. A cross-sectional study was used in this research. 158 participants were randomly selected based on the primary health care database in Malang City, Indonesia. There are eight parts of the questionnaire as the instruments in this study. Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the association of all independent variables with self-care behavior as a dependent variable. This study showed that 60.80% of respondents had complications while the less practicing self-care behavior was 46.84%. Furthermore, the ordinal regression logistic showed that duration of DM (OR:4.347, 95%CI 1.671-11.310), illness perception (OR: 0.028, 95%CI 6.090- 51.346), family supports (OR: 3.295, 95%CI 1.325-8.192), and community supports (2.802, 95%CI 1.209-6.493) were associated with self-care behavior among diabetes Mellitus. Objective: Adequate and appropriate nutrition education is expected to contribute towards preventing risk of child stunting and maternal overweight/obesity. Understanding women's information-seeking behaviours is an important key step for health professionals and departments of health in order to improve the development of optimal and targeted nutrition education during pregnancy. This study investigated the experience of Indonesian women in seeking and receiving nutritional information during pregnancy and its relationship to women's socio-demographic and pregnancy characteristics.Design: An online cross-sectional study.Setting: Malang City, Indonesia.Participants: Women who had given birth within the past 2 years (n 335).Results: All women in this study sought or received food and nutrition information from multiple sources, including social and health professional contacts and media sources. The women frequently discussed nutrition issues with their family, particularly their husband (98·2 %) and mother or mother-in-law (91·6 %). This study identified four groups of sources based on women's search habits. Women from high socio-economic strata were more likely to discuss food and nutrition issues or received nutrition information from obstetricians, their family or online sources (adjusted R2 = 26·3 %). Women from low socio-economic strata were more likely to receive nutrition information from midwives, health volunteers or Maternal and Child Health books (adjusted R2 = 14·5 %).Conclusions: A variety of nutrition information sources needs to be provided for women from different socio-economic strata. Involvement of family members in antenatal nutrition education may improve the communication and effectiveness of young mothers' dietary and nutrition education. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Academic resilience can be understood as a student’s ability to respond, adapt, and remain persistent in difficult situations. Current situation of the Covid-19 pandemic has changed many aspects of life, including the learning method. This situation led to impossibility to gather in large numbers in one place, making learning to be held by distance through online media. However, online learning in fact also causes its stressors for students especially “Bidik Misi grantee” students in such problems as internet bills issues, networks, and most importantly understanding of the material presented by the lecturer from different location. The purpose of this research is to know the description of the academic resilience of Bidik Misi grantee students in Malang during the Covid-19 pandemic using online approach in lectures. The data collection method was done through a questionnaire via google form with 61 Bidik Misi grantee as respondents. The instrument in this study used the resilience instrument from Cassidy (2016), the results of the study showed that only 1 subject had very high academic resilience, 21 subjects had high academic resilience, 25 subjects had moderate academic resilience,9 subjects had low resilience and 5 subjects had very low academic resilience.
