This study investigates the influence of seven motivational factors on pandemic giving. As COVID-19 struck, many philanthropic donations were initiated in the form of fundraising, and surprisingly, the collections were enormous, even within a limited timeframe. However, such situation is limitedly researched, albeit it may help to improve the approach and strategies of charity organisations in increasing fund collection. Thus, adopting the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB), this study analyses three core components of TPB; attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavioural control, together with another four variables hypothesized to influence giving behaviour; altruism, trust, religiosity and financial wellness. A survey was administered via convenient purposive sampling to test the hypotheses using logistic regression. Findings indicate that cash was the highest option of giving followed by food, manpower, equipment, expertise, and others. Findings also revealed that intention, number of dependents and monthly saving as the best predictor in influencing pandemic giving behaviour among Muslims especially for cash, equipment and expertise giving. Hence, this study suggests charity marketers to focus on strategies that will increase the intention and appropriately target the groups who are willing to contribute. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Renewable energy investments possess great potential for reducing the consumption of fossil fuels influenced by various determinants. This study investigates the individual investors' renewable energy investments' intention within the framework of the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) based on a survey conducted in 3 major states in Malaysia. The results indicate that one's intention to invest in renewable energy investments is influenced by attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioural control and evaluation of regulatory framework. Risk aversion on the other hand was found to have no effect on investors' intention towards such investments. The findings also reveal that the evaluation of regulatory framework is the most important determinant. This outcome contradicts the outcomes arrived at by the previous studies that focus on investment behaviours or other types of pro-environmentally intention or behaviours. This research also investigates the indirect effects of TPB on explaining investor's intention towards renewable energy investments through the evaluation of regulatory framework. The results indicate that the investors' intention towards renewable energy investments is indirectly influenced by attitude and perceived behavioural control. Subjective norm does not have an indirect effect on investors' intention towards renewable energy investments. In the present work, the extended Theory of Planned Behaviour was utilised in order to examine and unearth the consumer milk powder purchase intention after the milk powder scare. For this reason, a self-administered questionnaire was developed using established scales. Moreover, a survey on 200 respondents was conducted in Penang, Malaysia through an online survey questionnaire. Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) was utilised to analyse the data. The findings revealed that product knowledge, product involvement, and perceived benefit were positively and significantly related to purchase intention. Surprisingly, perceived risk and country of origin's image do not have any significant relationship with purchase intention. Attitude, playing the role of the mediating variable in the present work, was discovered to have a mediating effect on the relationships among product knowledge, product involvement, perceived benefit, perceived risk, country of origin's image, and purchase intention regarding milk powder. The present work shines a new light on Malaysian consumers' purchase intention towards milk powder. Furthermore, the results of the present work can be adopted as a source of reference by milk powder companies in order to formulate strategic marketing plans, for instance during the food scare crisis. Despite the increase in the usage of renewable energy in Malaysia, the proportion of renewable energy (RE) within the energy mix lags far behind satisfactory levels, at a mere 23% in 2020 compared to the 31% target by 2025 as per Malaysia's Energy Transition Roadmap. The public acceptance towards RE is one of the many obstacles that hinders the proliferation of RE in Malaysia. It is therefore imperative to determine the key factors which shape an individual's intention to utilize RE. In this study, three models are compared and assessed in terms of their efficacy in predicting such behavioural intention, namely the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) and an extended model that combines the characteristics of the two prior theories. Partial-least-squares structural equation modelling, finite mixture partial least squares (FIMIX-PLS), and important-performance map analysis (IPMA) were performed on the collected survey dataset with 524 responses. Analyses revealed that attitude and perceived behavioural control are important factors of intention to adopt renewable energy technology, with perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness in turn being significant antecedents of attitude, whereas subjective norm did not influence intention. Among the three models, the extended model triumphs in terms of path significance and explanatory power, followed by TPB and then TAM. Results show that costs, ease of use and accessibility of RE remain limiting factors towards RE adoption in Malaysia, hence the need of appropriate policies/programmes, such as targeted incentive campaigns, to alleviate this issue. • Factors affecting the intention to use renewable energy in Malaysia are revealed. • Quantitative research was conducted through online and physical surveys. • Three models (TAM, TPB, TAM + TPB) are adopted in the analysis. • Moderation, FIMIX and IPMA analyses were performed. The present study examined the roles of work factors (i.e. job demands and job resources), work–family conflicts and culture on predictors of healthy intentions (fruit and vegetable consumption, low‐fat diet and physical activity) within the framework of the theory of planned behaviour (TPB). Employees from the United Kingdom (N = 278) and Malaysia (N = 325) participated in the study. Results indicated that higher job demands were significantly related to lower intentions to eat a low‐fat diet. Women reported higher intentions to eat a low‐fat diet than men did, while participants from the United Kingdom had lower intentions to engage in physical activity compared with those from Malaysia. The efficacy of TPB variables in explaining intentions was verified, with perceived behavioural control (i.e. self‐efficacy), attitudes and descriptive norms combined with past behaviour predictive across the samples. The results also suggest the roles of culture and work interference with family variables in moderating TPB–intention relationships and confirm that TPB variables mediate the effects of job demands and job resources on intentions. Practically, to promote health, identifying strategies to reduce stress factors; specifying important cognitive factors affecting work factors and thus, healthy intentions; and acknowledging cultural‐specific determinants of healthy intentions are recommended.
