The article focuses on a study with regards to the inverse relation between Alzheimer's disease and cancer. It says that the participants for the study underwent a biennial examinations, wherein cases of Alzheimer's disease and cancer were verified. It states that 1278 participants with or without cancer aged 65 and up were analyzed, and those with verified cases of Alzheimer's disease were matched to controls by sex and age. Furthermore, results show that the survivors of cancer had a lower risk of having Alzheimer's disease, wherein the risk is lower for those that survived in smoking related cancers. Moreover, it also mentions that those participants with Alzheimer's disease had a lower risk of having cancer.
