A rich experimental program is currently being prepared at a new laboratory for high-intensity electron scattering at the Mainz Energy recovering Superconducting Accelerator (MESA). The physics program will explore the limits of the standard model both in terms of the strong interaction and beyond standard model physics using the two main experiments: MAGIX and P2. They will be complemented by the dedicated beam dump experiment DarkMESA. MESA is a low-energy, high-intensity electron accelerator for precision experiments with polarized electrons at beam energies of up to 155 MeV.
