The COVID-19 pandemic represents a risk for the mental health because it has changed the context of adolescents and young people. The study was aimed to analyze psychological responses of Mexican adolescents and young students to the pandemic and compare those variables by the lockdown time. The participants were 197 students aged 13 to 24 years from the State of Puebla in Mexico, participated. The COVID-19' Youth Perception Survey was applied to evaluate fears and worries, stress, school pressures, and routine changes, as well as some conditions related to the COVID-19. Girls present more stress, fears, and school pressure than boys do. In addition, adolescents who have been in confinement for a longer time have higher scores in all these areas evaluated, which could increase the probability of emotional problems. Therefore, design selective based-evidence strategies for youth are needed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
