Abstract: A new species of Weltrichia (Williamsoniaceae: Bennettitales) is described from the Middle Jurassic of Oaxaca. The specimens come from the Tecomazuchil Formation in the Ayuquila region, at the border between the Oaxaca and Puebla states. Fossils are preserved as impressions and compressions, in a fine-grained sublitharenite sequence deposited in a fluvial environment. Preserved diagnostic characters include: large size; a cup-shaped receptacle showing seven radially arranged and basically fused microsporophylls bearing synangia. Microsporophylls are ornamented with longitudinal striations and fine brittled hairs on the edge of their wide base, and taper into a narrow distal tip. In the adaxial part of the microsporophylls seven to nine synangia are observed. These characters differentiate the new species Weltrichia mixtequensis from all previously recorded species from Mexico or elsewhere. The presence of this new species in the Middle Jurassic strata of the Ayuquila region add to the scarce fossil record of microsporangiate structures in the Jurassic flora of Mexico. The article describes a clinical case of a woman with spinocerebellar ataxia type 10 (SCA10) who presents suicidal behavior and associated endocrinopathies. SCA10 is an autosomal dominant disease characterized by ataxia, psychiatric disorders, and seizures. It is caused by expansions of the ATXN10 gene on chromosome 22q13.11. This disease is more common in Mexican, Brazilian, and Argentine populations. In addition to motor symptoms, patients with SCA10 may experience fatigue, severe depression, anxiety, and endocrine disorders. In this case, the patient also presents epilepsy, personality changes, suicide attempts, major depressive disorder, congenital hypothyroidism, and amenorrhea-galactorrhea. This study describes the case of a woman with spinocerebellar ataxia type 10 (SCA10) who presents suicidal behavior and endocrinopathies associated with the massive expansion of the ATXN10 gene. The patient also presents seizures, parkinsonism, hypothyroidism, and galactorrhea. An expansion of approximately 5000 repetitions of the pentanucleotide ATTCT was found in the ATXN10 gene. This case is the first to report these symptoms associated with a high-penetrance expansion in SCA10. The article presents a case of a patient with spinocerebellar ataxia type 10 (SCA10) who experiences behavioral alterations, including suicidal behavior, and associated endocrinopathies. It is mentioned that behavioral alterations could be related to cortical atrophy, the raphe nucleus, and the mesencephalon, as well as the involvement of the serotonergic and dopaminergic pathways. Additionally, the importance of conducting further clinical studies in patients with SCA10 to expand the understanding of the psychiatric and endocrinological phenotype of this disease is highlighted. The Anticlinorium of Huayacocotla has several outcrops of geological and paleontological importance. However, reports of localities with paleoflora have been scarce so far. In this study, we report three new localities in the Cisuralian, the diversity and composition of which lead us to propose that the paleoflora may have been derived from vegetation that grew in an arid environment with seasonal wetness. The plant remains from the localities of Papaxtla and Calnali are highly transported and their diversity indicates the presence of several groups of plants that were shared with the La Virgen locality, which yielded the best preserved plant fossils. Changes in paleoenvironmental conditions indicate that the preservation of the flora was affected by the tectonic evolution of the region associated with sea level changes. The data presented here increase our knowledge of both the Cisuralian fossil flora and paleoenvironment in the south-central region of the Huayacocotla Anticlinorium, Hidalgo state. Spinocerebellar ataxia type 10 (SCA10) is characteri- zed by ataxia, psychiatric disorders convulsions, and locus at 22q13.311. It is caused by expansions between 800-4500 pentanucleotide ATTCT repeats in intron 9 of the ATXN10 gene1-2. The ATXN10 gene encodes ataxin-10 protein (known as E46L) involved in neuritogenesis 1. SCA10 has a founder origin in Mexican, Brazilian, Argentine populattons but is rare in others.
