This research conducts an analysis of gender inequality in the participation of women and men in different higher education training fields and its connection with labor market gender gaps present in Mexico. For this, data from the two spheres are presented for the period 2020-2021, emphasizing that gender roles are transferred to education and the economy in a transversal way, tending to perpetuate and reproduce inequalities between women and men in a structural way. Concluding that the data makes visible the need to break paradigms about gender gaps in the fields of study as well as to strengthen the linkage schemes between the institution and the labor market in order not to undermine the work of graduation. This article aims to show, from an ethnographic approach, the producers of jeans in San Mateo Ayecac, Tlaxcala, Mexico, as rural subjects who manage their own precariousness and see flexibility as an opportunity to generate productive businesses on their own, making use of immediate resources: farmland, housing and relationships based on trust that allow them to create a type of subordinate economy, where they take on the figure of owners and workers at the same time; flexibility and precariousness are transversal to their lifestyle, the process of socialization and working conditions and organization. That is, they emerge as new rural subjects from the pores of neoliberal capitalism, as surplus population and, at the same time, responsible for their own survival and maintenance. Objective: To explore the association between the biopsychosocial factors and the Functional Dependency (FD) in elderly people who attend the National Institute for Elderly Persons (INAPAM). Methods: Information related to the sociodemographic, clinic, environmental, and personal characteristics of patients were collected. Furthermore, the Disability Assessment Schedule (WHODAS 2.0) was applied in a sample of 250 elders, from 20th September to 30th November of 2017. Results: The prevalence of FD was 66.4%. The bivariate analysis shows association with female sex RM:1.8 (IC95%:1.08-3), the category "not having a regular partner" of the civil status RM:1.9 (IC95%:1.1-3.3), the negative self-perception of health status RM:2.8 (IC95%:1.6-4.8), the absent of facilitators RM:2.6 (IC95%:1.4-5.1), the presence of barriers RM:3.4 (IC95%:1.8-6.7) and the non-attendance to medical appointments RM:0.5 (IC95%:0.3-0.8). Conclusions: This study analyses the biopsychosocial factors of FD, showing synthetically the biological, social, and personal interactions associated with.
