The article focuses on insurance disputes after the Hurricane Katrina. It has been about a month since Katrina made landfall, but total insured losses remain anyone's guess. The upper-end estimate hovers around $100 billion. No one expects a more definitive conclusion any time soon. More than 10,000 adjusters have blanketed Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, but businesses in and around New Orleans will still be processing claims well into 2007, according to industry sources. It is argued that many Katrina disputes will end up in court.
