The article discusses long-term sources of funding that would help sustain nature and biodiversity conservation projects. The authors cite subsidies, regulatory frameworks, international aids, tax incentives, the role of philanthropists and the compensation scheme for land owners as possible sources of funding. A strategy for meeting conservation targets, which are discussed at the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) meeting in Nagoya, Japan in October 2010, is mentioned.
