The article focuses on the paintings donated to the Brooklyn Museum of Art in New York. The painting "Stalling Elephants," by Bertram H. Schaffner, which shows one of the examples of the Deccani tradition of working in marbled paper, has been on loan to the museum since 1986 and was donated to mark the 90th birthday of Schaffner. The "Maharana Jawan Singh of Mewar Receiving the Governor General of India, Lord William Cavendish Bentick at the Ajmer Darbar, 8th February 1832" is another painting donated by the Alvin E. Friedman-Kien Foundation.
