The article focuses on political and social issues of the U.S. It states that unlike the last time, the antiwar effort is starting in the center, rather than at the radical edges of politics in the U.S. Catholic bishops went on record this month against the U.S. aggressive action. During early days of the Vietnam era, the Catholic hierarchy was a major supporter of the war party. The article also reports that annihilation of unions of newspapers is around the corner in New York City. Its peal could be the death knell of at least one of the city's four major dailies and cause further hemorrhaging of the union movement.
