Abstract

The article discusses the expected growth in oil exploration in North America resulting from higher oil prices and gas and rising awareness of a possible supply shortage. Incentives in the market include undiscovered reserves in the region, a well-developed surface infrastructure, established markets and low political risk. The authors believe that the region's onshore basins are mature because of the wells drilled in each basin.
