The article discusses ocean debris. An example is given of the Pacific Garbage Patch which is an area of the Pacific ocean, midway between Hawaii and California, that contains a large amount of floating debris mostly made up of plastic. Topics include an overview of how the patch was discovered, the type of trash within the patch, and the environmental impact of ocean trash on marine organisms.
