In the '50s some European countries did the first step towards an economic cooperation that was supposed to bring them stability and prosperity. Their approaches led to the creation of the Economic and Monetary Union in the early 90's. Nowadays, the economic and financial crisis strikes it, therefore, there have been taken emergency measures. As a solution to this situation, 25 member states of European Union (among them Romania as well) signed the Treaty on Stability, Coordination and Governance on the 2nd of March 2012. Also known as the Fiscal Compact, it establishes, especially for the countries in the euro area, a "balanced budget rule" and an automatic mechanism to take corrective action. It also stipulates that the states which don't submit this rule will be fined. This way, the treaty aims to strengthen fiscal discipline in order to reestablish the economic and financial stability and to prevent future European sovereign debt crisis. Moreover, it talks about the governance of the euro area, meaning that it also moves forward to the complete economic integration stage. The Romanian-Hungarian border, drawn at the end of the peace process that followed the First World War, was from the beginning, and continues today, a controversial topic in historical research of the two neighboring countries. The intensity whereby each of the two dialogue partners have sustained more or less argued over time their thesis, that were launched on the internal and external market of the history books, has fluctuated, being influenced by a complexity of political, ideological or economical factors. In this study I want to present a brief image of the themes and topics that dominate the Hungarian and Romanian research, namely the causality relationships that are tied in the argumentations of their studies. The article analyzes the commencement of the first Romanian state and international relations during the first half of 14th century. It notes the external relations of Poland and Hungary to limit the power of Mongols at the eastern zone of the European continent. It cites the foundation of the state Walachia as a result from the political coordinates drawn by Poland and Hungary. It explains the role of the 1330 Posada battle of Hungary and Poland in Minor Russia for international relations.
