Three new species of predatory mites belonging to the genus Amblyseius Berlese (Acari: Phytoseiidae), A. latisetosussp. nov., A. unodentatussp. nov., and A. altaiensissp. nov. are described based on the material collected from Altai Republic, Russia. The new species are assigned to the obtusus species group and andersoni species subgroup by having setae J2 and Z1, short and minute setae z4, sub-pentagonal ventrianal shield, and bell-shaped calyx of spermatheca. All new species were compared with each other and all other Amblyseius species known to date. The main diagnostic characters of these species are measurements of prominent dorsal setae, ventral setae JV5 and macrosetae on leg IV, cheliceral dentition, number of setae on genu II as well as small rounded and distinct pre-anal pores on ventrianal shield. Russian species of the genus Paraseiulus Muma (Acari: Phytoseiidae) were reviewed based on the material collected in this study as well as previous literature reports. As a result, a new species, P. pseudoincognitussp. nov., collected from leaves of Ulmus sp. (Ulmaceae) in Omsk Region, Russia, was described and illustrated from adults of both sexes. Moreover, supplementary descriptions and new illustrations of four species, P. incognitus Wainstein & Arutunjan, P. soleiger (Ribaga), P. triporus (Chant & Yoshida-Shaul) and P. xiningensis (Chen & Chu) were provided, based on the newly collected specimens to facilitate species delimitation. In addition, P. intermixtus Kolodochka was proposed as a new junior synonym of P. soleiger, and both P. trimediosetus (Xin, Liang & Ke) and P. inobservatus Kolodochka were synonymized with P. xiningensis. This paper reports on a new species of mite of the genus Gaeolaelaps from Western Siberia, Russia, Gaeolaelaps hajiqanbari Joharchi & Nemati sp. nov. collected from soil of a salt marsh in vicinity of Omsk. The present study is based on oribatid mite material collected from Altai Mountains, southern part of Western Siberia, Altai Republic, Russia. A list of 30 species, belonging to 30 genera and 24 families, is presented. Of these, one genus (Neotrichoppia) and three species (Epidamaeus munkhbayari, Proteremaeus chadaevae, Peloribates angulatus) are recorded for the first time in Russia. One new species – Neotrichoppia (Confinoppia) ulaganensis Ermilov sp. nov. – is described which is different from closely related species/subspecies – N. (C.) confinis confinis, N. (C.) confinis tenuiseta and N. (C.) variabilis – by the relatively large distance between lamellar and interlamellar setae, and localization of interlamellar seta between bothridia (behind costulae and transcostula). Two new species of the genus Typhlodromus Scheuten, Typhlodromus (Typhlodromus) dombayensis Khaustov and Döker sp. nov. and Typhlodromus (Typhlodromus) kurganensis Khaustov and Döker sp. nov. are described and illustrated based on material collected in Caucasus and Kurgan provinces, Russia, respectively. In addition, a little known species, Typhlodromus (Typhlodromus) olympicus Papadoulis and Emmanouel, is re-described and discovered for the first time after its original description. Surveys were carried out to assess Phytoseiidae (Acari: Mesostigmata) diversity in various habitats and ecosystems during the last two years in Russia. This study aimed to provide a review of the Russian species belonging to the genus Transeius Chant & McMurtry (Acari: Phytoseiidae) mostly based on the materials collected in this study as well as previous records. As a result, T. avetianae (Arutunjan & Ohandjanian) and T. proximus (Kolodochka) are reported for the first time in Russia. We provide the first description of the female of Dendrolaelaps sinodendronis Wiśniewski and Hirschmann (Acari: Mesostigmata: Digamasellidae) associated with Sinodendron cylindricum (L.) (Coleoptera: Lucanidae) from Tyumen Province, Western Siberia, Russia. We also redescribe Proctolaelaps epuraeae Hirschmann (Acari: Mesostigmata: Melicharidae) from the adult female, collected on Cucujus sp. Two little known species of the genus Neoseiulus Hughes, N. plantagenis (Kolodochka) and N. tervus Meshkov are redescribed based on the specimens collected from grass-soil in North Caucasus, and Tyumen province, Russia, respectively. Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) tetraporus sp. nov., collected on grasses in Crimea, is proposed as a new species for science. The new species can be separated from all known species of Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) by the combination of following characters; peritreme extending almost to level of setae j1, four pairs of solenostomes on dorsal shield, two pairs of setae on sternal shield, a sclerotised v-shaped plate posterior to sternal shield, four pairs of pre-anal setae, a pair of small rounded pre-anal solenostomes, differentiated and larger atrium of spermatheca and eight setae on genu II. In addition, T. (A.) montanus Chant Yoshida-Shaul (Acari: Phytoseiidae), a species only known based on its original description from Canada is reported for the first time in Russia. The new record is redescribed and illustrated based on female specimens collected from Prunus padus L. (Rosaceae) where it was associated with eriophyid mites in Pereval Seminskiy, Altai Republic. This species may be an important predator as a potential biological control agent of eriophyid mites.

This paper reports on three species of mites of the genus Gaeolaelaps from Altai Mountains, Russia. Gaeolaelaps altaiensis sp. nov., G. lenis Vatankhah Nemati were collected from nests of Lasius sp. and Formica sp. (Hymenoptera: Formicidae), respectively, and G. euparadactylifer sp. nov. from moss on the shore of the Teletskoye Lake. The new species have the unusual character state of short peritremes, ending near the middle of coxae II. In G. euparadactylifer sp. nov., the pretarsal paradactyli on legs II-IV are strongly elongated, apically pointed and with their tips projecting well beyond the claws. Both new species are described based on morphological characters of the adults. In addition, the male of Gaeolaelaps lenis is described for the first time.
