The article reports on the move by a growing number of scientists to study the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to predict earthquakes. They analyzed seismic data to better understand earthquakes, forecast how they will behave, and provide quicker and accurate early warnings. Katherine M. Scharer, a geologist with the U.S. Geological Survey, conducted a study of nine earthquakes occurred along the Southern California portion of the San Andreas fault.
