Abstract

The article presents a study which aims to assess self-rated successful aging in terms of psychological, physical, and cognitive assessments. The study assessed 1,006 adults ages from 50-99 years in San Diego County, California using a structured multicohort design, and evaluate by telephone interview for 25 minutes. Moreover, results show that self-rated successful aging is associated by depression and resilience, wherein it promotes psychiatry's role in successful aging.
