This study is an attempt to explore war-related trauma, its stressful effects, and the coping strategies of Saudi schoolchildren. The authors hypothesized that children exposed to war-related trauma will show higher levels of PTSD, and that those with higher levels of PTSD symptoms use more maladaptive coping strategies. The study describes the correlation between traumatic events and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as well as coping strategies. Five hundred twenty-seven intermediate and high school students, 12 to 18 years old, living in the conflict zone in southern Saudi Arabia completed three standardized self-reported scales: the War Zone Traumatic Events Checklist, the Child PTSD Symptom Scale, and the Children's Coping Strategies Checklist. Each participating student was randomly chosen. Analysis was based on two groups: the high-PTSD symptoms group (182 children) and the low-PTSD symptoms group (345 children). The study was conducted between September 2020 and April 2022 while the war was ongoing as part of an ongoing larger study. Children exposed to war-related traumatic events exhibited greater prevalence rates for PTSD. The children reported high levels of PTSD symptoms and applied a variety of coping strategies to manage related stress. Participants rarely reported that psychological or educational interventions had been used to manage the war-related traumatic experiences and PTSD or to improve related coping styles. The results are discussed in the context of mental health services needed for children in the conflict zone. To bridge the gap between health care services and the needs of children with PTSD, and for better understanding and interventions, health professionals are invited to develop a biopsychosocial model that identifies the risks of PTSD related to exposure to war-related traumatic events in school-aged children and, hence, provide a multidisciplinary intervention program that educates, encourages, and supports teachers and parents in following medical recommendations and goals. This paper addresses the research gap concerning the impact of thermal diffusivity on cooling energy consumption in buildings, specifically in the context of Saudi Arabia's hot climate. The objective is to determine the optimal thermal diffusivity of building walls for different climate conditions in Saudi Arabia to minimize the cooling energy consumption of residential buildings. The study analyzes four locations in Saudi Arabia, namely, Riyadh, Jeddah, Abha, and Tabuk, to understand the correlation between optimal thermal diffusivity and cooling degree days. The study includes numerical modeling using the finite-difference method and developing a calibrated building energy model of an existing residential building. Sensitivity analysis is conducted to evaluate the influence of thermal conductivity and heat capacity on cooling energy consumption. Correlation analysis is performed to assess the relationship between optimal thermal diffusivity and cooling degree days. The results highlight the importance of finding a balance between thermal insulation and thermal mass for energy-efficient buildings, considering the unique climate conditions in Saudi Arabia. Finally, this study considered the development of the Saudi Energy Conservation Code (SBC-602), which provides guidelines and regulations for energy-efficient building design in Saudi Arabia by recommending the selection criteria for the optimal thermal properties of building walls while considering the outdoor climate conditions. By aligning the findings of this study with the requirements and recommendations of the SBC-602, the study aims to contribute to the effective implementation of energy-efficient strategies in building design. This study investigates the community's perception of mental health in Saudi Arabia, emphasizing its influence on attitudes toward the causes, treatment, and prevention of mental health issues. This understanding is vital for creating evidence-based mental health interventions. A cross-sectional nationalmental health screening was conducted in 2023, utilizing proportional quota sampling for age, gender, and regional representation among 4547 Saudi participants aged 18-90, randomly selected from national databases. Data were gathered using the ZDataCloud system. The study covered all 13 administrative regions of Saudi Arabia: Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, Qassim, Eastern Province, Asir, Tabuk, Hail, Northern Borders, Jazan, Najran, Baha, and Al-Jouf. The majority (86.5%) had no personal history of mental health diagnosis or treatment. Key findings identified psychological trauma (78.36%) and substance abuse (72.88%) as primary perceived causes of mental disorders. Preferred treatments included non-pharmacological psychotherapies (74.97%) and pharmacological methods (71.08%). Prevention strategies focused on raising awareness of mental illness (80.4%) and enhancing positive relationships (70.6%). A multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed significant associations between demographic variables and perceptions of mental disorder causes, treatments, and prevention strategies. Females were more likely than males to perceive psychological trauma, drug and alcohol abuse, and domestic violence and sexual harassment as causes of mental disorders. Regarding treatments, females and those with personal or close connections to mental health issues were more likely to endorse non-pharmacological psychotherapy and Roquia in the Qur'an. For prevention strategies, females, those with a mental health diagnosis, and those living with someone diagnosed with a mental disorder were more likely to endorse increasing awareness, positive social relationships, and physical activity. Background: Vaccine hesitancy is a significant global problem resulting from the interaction of multiple factors, including mental health factors. However, the association of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy with mental health has not been well-examined, especially in Arab culture. This study aims to identify the correlation between anxiety/fear of COVID-19 and vaccine hesitancy among Saudi adults. Methods: An online-based survey was administered to 558 participants from all regions of Saudi Arabia using the snowball technique. However, this sample may not be representative of the Saudi adult population. Participants responded to the Questionnaire of Vaccine Hesitancy, the COVID-19-Anxiety Questionnaire (C-19-A), and the Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S). Data were analyzed on vaccine uptake, vaccine hesitancy, coronavirus infection, and demographic variables. The predictive factors of vaccine hesitancy were examined in one model using multiple regression analysis by the Enter method (P= 0.05). Results: COVID-19 anxiety and fear have significant correlations with vaccine hesitancy (Phi=0.33, P=0.017; Phi=0.29, P=0.013, respectively). Anxiety and fear were higher among unhesitating participants (t =2.469, P=0.014; t=2.025, P=0.043, respectively). Participants who had previously been infected with coronavirus were more likely to be hesitant (X² = 23.126, P=0.000). Participants who scored high in anxiety were more likely to be vaccinated (F=3.979, P=0.019) and have a secondary school or college education (F=4.903 P=0.002). COVID-19 anxiety, gender, and coronavirus infection significantly predicted vaccine hesitancy. Conclusion: Anxiety and fear of COVID-19 are among the most important factors correlated with vaccine hesitancy; unhesitant people are more likely to have anxiety and fear. COVID-19 anxiety significantly predicted vaccine hesitancy. We recommend integrating psychological care into vaccination plans to help increase the uptake rate during potential subsequent pandemics. Relevant intervention programs can be designed to help increase vaccine acceptance, deal with vaccine hesitancy, and relieve psychological symptoms during major pandemics. Background: Nursing incivility, defined as disrespectful behaviour toward nurses, is increasingly recognized as a pressing issue that affects nurses' well-being and quality of care. However, research on the pathways linking incivility to outcomes is limited, especially in Saudi hospitals. Methods: This cross-sectional study examined relationships between perceived nursing incivility, nurse stress, patient engagement, and health outcomes in four Saudi hospitals. Using validated scales, 289 nurses and 512 patients completed surveys on exposure to incivility, stress levels, activation, and medication adherence. The outcomes included readmissions at 30 days and satisfaction. Results: More than two-thirds of nurses reported experiencing moderate to severe workplace incivility. Correlation and regression analyzes revealed that nursing incivility was positively associated with nursing stress. An inverse relationship was found between stress and patient participation. Serial mediation analysis illuminated a detrimental cascade, incivility contributing to increased nurse stress, subsequently diminishing patient engagement, ultimately worsening care quality. Conclusions The findings present robust evidence that nursing incivility has adverse ripple effects, directly impacting nurse well-being while indirectly affecting patient outcomes through reduced care involvement. Practical implications advocate for systemic interventions focused on constructive nursing cultures and patient empowerment to improve both healthcare provider conditions and quality of care. This study provides compelling information to inform policies and strategies to mitigate workplace mistreatment and encourage participation among nurses and patients to improve health outcomes. Background: Identifying the potential factors of depression among medical students is the first step towards academic excellence and future safe medical practice. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted from December 2019 to February 2020 at the University of Bisha, College of Medicine (UBCOM), Bisha Province, Saudi Arabia. Male medical students from year one to year six were involved. A self-administered questionnaire was used to collect data about students' socio-demographic and academic characteristics. The Arabic version of the PHQ-9 scale with a score of ≥10 was used to identify depression. Logistic regression analysis was used to assess the prevalence and correlates of depression. Results: Of the 190 male students enrolled, 26.8% had depressive symptoms, of whom 45.1% were experiencing moderate to severe symptoms. The significantly highest depression rate was found among the second-year students, at 43.8% (OR = 2.544; 95% CI 1.178–5.714; p = 0.018), and the lowest rate was found among year one students, at 8.9% (OR = 0.203; 95% CI 0.075–0.560; p = 0.002). Univariate regression revealed a significant correlation between depression and dissatisfaction with family income, loss of family members, having psychological illness, difficulties in personal relationships, regretting studying medicine, failure in an academic year, a lower grade than expected, conflict with tutors, lack of college facilities and heavy academic load. In multivariate analysis, loss of family members (AOR = 3.69; 95% CI 1.86–7.413), difficulties in personal relationships (AOR = 2.371; 95% CI 1.009–5.575), regretting studying medicine (AOR = 3.764; 95% CI 1.657–8.550), and failing an academic year (AOR = 2.559; 95% CI 1.112–5.887) were independently correlated with depression. Conclusions: The study concluded that medical students at UBCOM experience depressive symptoms associated with various risk indicators. Background: The aim of the study is to evaluate the prevalence of non-carious cervical lesions in Abha city, Saudi Arabia. Methods: This study includes clinical examination of dental patients attending OPD at College of Dentistry, King Khalid University. A convenient sample size of 486 patients (Male=281; Female=205) participants aged between 20 and 60 years was included. Voluntary informed consent was obtained from the parents before the examination of the child. Dental examinations were carried out using a standard mouth mirror and dental probe. The following parameters were recorded: the diagnoses of abrasion, erosion, and abfraction and data was collected. The results were recorded and analyzed for statistical significance using the Chi-square test and t-test with a P-value of <0.05 considered significant. Results: There were more male patients (58%), and the sex ratio was 1.37. Graduates were the most represented professional category (39%), and 311 (64%) patients resided in urban area. A total of 91 of the 486 patients who were examined in this study. All up, there were 91 patients, with 1432 teeth that were affected. The following NCCL were recorded, Abrasion lesions were encountered the most, and they concerned 610 teeth (42.5%), followed by Abfraction, which was found on 442 teeth or 30.8%. and erosion, which was diagnosed on 380 teeth or 26.5%. Conclusions: In our study, the prevalence of NCCLs was 18.72% reported. The first molars are the most commonly affected teeth by NCCLs in the Saudi population, followed by premolars, canines, and incisors. This distribution may vary among different populations and can be influenced by dietary habits, oral hygiene practices, and other environmental factors. Study Design: Cross-sectional Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the knowledge, attitude, and awareness in dentists on the computer technology applications in surgical implant dentistry. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted after receiving clarifications regarding the objectives of the research and signing a statement of informed consent. The participants of the study comprised of total number of 300 dental surgeons (Male-186; Female-114) with age range from 20- to 55- years-old to understand the knowledge, attitude, and perception among dentists on the computer technology applications in surgical implant dentistry. The questionnaire was formulated and given and data was collected from dental surgeon. The data were entered and analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS 20). A P-value of less than 0.05 was considered to be statistically significant. Results: The majority of participants, 198(66%) were said that they were aware of the use of digital technologies in your practice? (e.g.-RVG, CBCT, Intraoral Scanner). Majority of participants 267(89%) agreed that currently available digital technologies users friendly. Participants 155 (52%) stated that they will prefer OPG as imaging modality while planning implants. Majority of the dentists 219 (73%) agreed that their patients would prefer implant placement over conventional methods for replacing tooth. Conclusions: Study findings revealed that dental professionals possess a high level of knowledge and education towards dental implants with digital applications. However, further progress is needed on all educational levels, in addition to advanced level training of dental implant placement for the purpose of enabling dentists to carry out dental implant procedures with a higher level of confidence. Background: Nearly half of the Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients develop lung involvement. The study assessed the extent of pulmonary involvement among SLE patients and to identify the associated factors in the population. Methodology: This retrospective cohort study was conducted at Aseer Hospital and Khamis Myshat Hospital in the Southern region of Saudi Arabia. The study spanned from January 1, 2016, to June 3, 2023. Patient inclusion criteria encompassed individuals who received a definitive diagnosis and classification as per American College of Rheumatology criteria, while patients under 18 years of age and those with mixed connective tissue diseases were exclude. Results: A total of 247 participants were included. 41.7% (n=103) aged 41 years and older, 95.1% (n = 235) were females. Around 10.10% had diabetes mellitus and 17.00% had hypertension and hypothyroidism. Lupus Nephritis was in 15.40%. Chest involvement was reported in 21.9%, in the form of pleuritis (6.10%), pleural effusion (4.00%), and lupus pneumonitis (4.00%), interstitial lung disease (4.00%), pulmonary embolism (3.60%) of individuals, and pulmonary hemorrhage (2.80%). The respiratory symptoms reported by SLE were; dyspnea, cough, and chest pain each having a prevalence of around 18.0%. Palpitations have a relatively high occurrence at 13.80%. Meanwhile, hemoptysis (blood coughing) has a lower prevalence of 1.20%, and fever is reported at 2.80%. Having chronic kidney disease and hypertension were significantly associated with having pulmonary involvement; (χ 2=3.308, p=0.027) and (χ 2=7.782, Fisher's p=0.002) respectively. The seropositivity for antiphospholipid Abs, anti-CCP, and antids-DNA were significantly associated with pulmonary involvement (χ 2=3.239, =p=0.049), (χ 2=4.621, Fisher's p=0.023), and (χ 2=8.248, p=0.010) respectively. Conclusion: The study found that 21.9% of SLE patients experience chest involvement, with varying degrees of pulmonary symptoms. Factors such as chronic kidney disease, hypertension, antiphospholipid antibodies, Anti-CCP positivity, and seropositivity for Anti-dsDNA were found to be significant associations with lung involvement, contributing to our understanding of SLE. Background. Emergency departments suffer from authoritarian and manipulative leadership styles that affect team dynamics, emotional exhaustion, and quality patient care. However, little research specifically explores these toxic leadership effects on conflict management and nurses' organizational commitment. Objectives. This cross-sectional study aimed to assess the correlations between perceived toxic leadership, conflict resolution strategies, and commitment dimensions among emergency nurses while evaluating conflict tendencies as a mediating mechanism. Methods. A cross-sectional design that included multiple regression and mediation analyses was utilized. The sample consisted of 387 emergency nurses from five major Saudi hospitals surveyed using validated scales that measure perceived toxic leadership, conflict styles, and organizational commitment. Results. High prevalence rates for perceived authoritarian (77%), narcissistic (75%), and unpredictable (63%) leadership were reported. Increased toxicity was positively related to dominating and avoiding conflict styles but negatively related to integrating and compromising strategies. Toxic leadership is also associated with lower affective/normative commitment but higher continuance commitment. Conflict management partially mediated the leadership-commitment relationship, which explained 29% of the total effect. Finally, higher experience and education predicted greater perceived toxicity. Conclusions. The significant correlations between destructive leadership, adverse conflict, and reduced commitment in emergency nurses underscore the need for context-specific leadership training. Fostering supportive environments through multifaceted interventions can counteract toxicity impacts, impart constructive communication techniques, improve nurse well-being, and ensure high-quality patient care. The aim of this study is to examine, for the first time, the mental health literacy of the Saudi general population. Additionally, we aim to identify demographic factors associated with elevated mental health literacy scores. Methods: A cross-sectional study using a phone interview survey with quota sampling was conducted for equal distribution of sexes, age and administrative regions. Mental health literacy was assessed by the previously validated mental health literacy scale (MHLS). The MHLS ranges from 35 to 160, and a higher score indicates greater level of mental health literacy. Results: In this study, 4,547 (70.2%) agreed to complete the interview. The sample was equally distributed across Saudi Arabia's 13 administrative regions with 50.1% female and mean age 35.9 (SD: ± 12.8). In terms of education, 55.1% have a bachelor's degree or above. The nationally weighted score on the original MHLS was 110.75. the MHLS Saudi validation score was influenced by various variables including: marital status, healthcare-related job, sex, education level, and proximity to individuals with mental health issues. Conclusion: The study offers data for the first time on Saudi Arabian mental health literacy status. The high MHLS score reflects good societal awareness and understanding of mental health related concepts and issues in the Saudi population. The results of this study set the baseline for mental health literacy in Saudi Arabia. Future research may focus on utilizing the validated MHLS and the method used in this study to explore the effect of other social and individual factors on mental health literacy. Background: The World Health Organization recommends companionship as a critical element of respectful maternity care. However, there is paucity of literature regarding women's attitudes, related factors, and barriers of implementation in Saudi Arabia. Objective: This study aimed to assess women's attitudes toward birth companionship during labor and delivery, related factors, and barriers of implementing labor companionship in Saudi Arabia. Design/Methods: This study was carried out in Al Ahsa, Saudi Arabia, using a cross-sectional design. The data collection took place over a period of approximately 6 months, specifically from 16 August 2021 to 20 February 2022. A total of 418 women who had given birth at three governmental hospitals and three private hospitals in Al Ahsa participated in the survey. The study included women between the ages of 18 and 49 years who had delivered during the study period. Results: The study revealed that while around 82.8% of mothers expressed a desire for companionship during labor, only 43.2% actually had a labor companion present during delivery. The primary obstacle to labor companionship reported by 21.5% of respondents was hospital policies. Other barriers identified included husbands' fear of being present during labor (4.7%) and limited availability of time for companionship (3.8%). Conclusion: The study concludes that birth companionship is highly desired by women in the study area. However, various physical, emotional, and institutional barriers, such as hospital policies and regulations, impede its implementation. Addressing these barriers and promoting supportive policies are essential to facilitate the provision of birth companionship and improve the childbirth experience for women in Al Ahsa. (1) Background: Musculoskeletal pain is common among orthopedic surgeons. Their common musculoskeletal issues include shoulder pain and disability. Many associated factors could lead to this pain and disability; by identifying these, we can prevent orthopedic surgeons' pain and improve their functional capacity. (2) Methods: This study aimed to gather quantitative data regarding the shoulder pain and disability experienced by orthopedic surgeons. It also aimed to explore the potential correlations between demographic characteristics and work-related factors and their pain and disability. This study interviewed 150 orthopedic surgeons working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, asking questions on the Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI) scale and about their demographic characteristics. (3) Results: All interviewed orthopedic surgeons were male, married, and nonsmokers. Their SPADI pain subsection score was 25.24%, their SPADI disability subsection score was 21.25%, and their total SPADI score was 22.79%. Among the examined demographic characteristics, total SPADI scores have a significant positive correlation with body weight (Spearman's ρ = 0.432; p < 0.05) and body mass index (BMI; ρ = 0.349; p < 0.05). (4) Conclusions: Our findings indicate that all orthopedic surgeons generally suffer from moderate shoulder pain and disability. Objective: This study aimed to validate the Arabic Version of the Mental Health Literacy Scale (Arabic-MHLS) among the Saudi Arabian general population, assessing its internal consistency, test-retest reliability, and structural validity. Methods: A total of 700 Arabic-speaking Saudi adults were randomly selected to complete the electronic questionnaire in May 2023, which generated 544 participants. Data were coded and stored in the ZdataCloud research data collection system database. Test-retest reliability was assessed using a subsample of 48 participants who completed the questionnaire twice, with a one-week interval. Structural validity was examined using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). Results: The Arabic-MHLS demonstrated good internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.87) and test-retest reliability (intraclass correlation coefficient = 0.89). EFA revealed a four-factor model closely resembling the model identified in the Slovenian validation of MHLS, with factor loadings ranging from 0.40 to 0.85. The four factors included knowledge of mental health disorders, knowledge of help-seeking, knowledge of self-help strategies, and knowledge of professional help also showed good internal consistency. Conclusion: The Arabic-MHLS is a valid and reliable tool for assessing mental health literacy in the Saudi Arabian general population. However, further research is needed to refine the measurement tool and understand the complex relationships between mental health literacy and other mental health-related concepts. This will contribute to the development of targeted interventions and policies aimed at improving mental health literacy and promoting mental well-being in the Saudi Arabian population and beyond. INTRODUCTION Tobacco use remains high in Saudi Arabia, necessitating an understanding of the influence of cultural and social events on smoking cessation. This study examined whether cultural and social events like Ramadan, Eids, and birthdays, motivate Saudi adults to quit smoking. METHODS Convenience sampling of 742 Saudi tobacco users was conducted between July 2021 and May 2022. A cross-sectional survey was used to assess self-reported desire to quit (1 = 'least desire' to 10 = 'highest desire') and behaviors in relation to special occasions. Multiple linear regression was performed to examine the association between cultural and social occasions and the desire to quit, while logistic regression was used to assess the relationship between cultural and social occasions and historical quit attempts, medicinal nicotine product use, visiting smoking cessation clinics, and calling the national Quitline. Demographic variables and tobacco types were controlled for in the analyses. RESULTS Considering quitting during Ramadan, Eids, and birthdays was associated with a higher desire to quit (Ramadan: B=2.99; 95% CI: 2.51-3.47, Eids: B=2.83; 95% CI: 2.12-3.54, and birthdays: B=2.76; 95% CI: 1.93-3.60, p<0.01) and a greater likelihood of past quit attempts (Ramadan: AOR=8.2; 95% CI: 5.5-12.1, Eids: AOR=5.8; 95% CI: 3.2-10.5, and birthdays: AOR=4.8; 95% CI: 2.4-9.4). Only considering quitting during Ramadan was associated with calling the national Quitline (AOR=2.9; 95% CI: 1.8-4.9). CONCLUSIONS Cultural and social events like Ramadan and Eids motivate adults in Saudi Arabia to attempt tobacco cessation. Targeting interventions around meaningful cultural occasions may promote successful quitting. Background: Integrating family-centered care (FCC) and developmental care (DC) principles in neonatal care settings may improve neurodevelopmental outcomes for high-risk neonates. However, the combined impact of FCC and DC has been underexplored. This study aimed to investigate the effects of integrated FCC and DC on neurodevelopment and length of hospital stay in high-risk neonates. Methods: A quasi-experimental pre–post study was conducted among 200 high-risk neonates (<32 weeks gestation or <1500 g) admitted to neonatal intensive care units (NICU) in Saudi Arabia. The intervention group (n = 100) received integrated FCC and DC for 6 months. The control group (n = 100) received standard care. Neurodevelopment was assessed using the Bayley Scales of Infant Development-III. Length of stay and readmissions were extracted from medical records. Results: The intervention group showed significant improvements in cognitive, motor, and language scores compared to controls (p < 0.05). The intervention group had a 4.3-day reduction in the mean length of stay versus a 1.4-day reduction in controls (p = 0.02). Integrated care independently predicted higher cognitive scores (p = 0.001) and shorter stays (p = 0.006) in regression models. Conclusion: Integrating FCC and DC in neonatal care enhances neurodevelopmental outcomes and reduces hospitalization for high-risk neonates compared to standard care. Objective: To investigate comorbidity of oppositional-defiant disorder (ODD), conduct disorder (CD), anxiety, and depression and to investigate the impaired social and academic developments among children with ADHD in primary school settings in Saudi Arabia. Method: Data for the purpose of this study are obtained from parent and teachers of 652 primary school children attending Grades 1 to 3 (children aged between 7 and 9 years). Vanderbilt ADHD diagnostic rating scale, which has relevance and found to be reliable by previous studies, is used in the study. Results: ODD and CD are reported to be present in close to two thirds (73%) of children with ADHD, as assessed with "DSM-IV-TR" criteria. Anxiety and depression disorder are estimated to be present in 36% of children with ADHD. Children with ADHD show high levels of impairment in academic achievements (63%) and social performance (90%), compared with non-ADHD children. Conclusion: These findings suggest that a significant minority of disruptive children may have their difficulties compounded by the presence of ADHD, which raises the question whether their problems are known and whether they have received appropriate help. It is important to develop a specific set of psychological clinical intervention for helping children with ADHD, ODD, CD, and other related problems. Knowing the fluctuation of solar radiation is essential for reliable and safe operation of power systems with a high share of solar PV power plants. This paper introduces a novel method for forecasting the distortion in global solar radiation during the midday time (during the peak of solar radiation at which the generation of the PV plants is maximum), by analyzing the solar radiation during the very early hours. This paper shows that there is a strong relation between the condition of the solar radiation during the very early minutes of the day (when the generation of the PV plants is low) and the condition of the solar radiation during the midday hours (when the output of the PV plants is enormous). This relation can be utilized to help power systems operators in determining the safe share of PV plants that can be fed to power systems. We analyzed real data of one complete year for two sites in Saudi Arabia to approve this approach. The difference between each two readings was calculated for the hours 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. Then, the negative, zero, and amplitude of the difference was used to formulate a distortion index (DI) that predicts the distortion/fluctuation in the global radiation. It was concluded that the DI could classify the days into three categories: clean, distorted, and medium level according to the value of the DI. BACKGROUND: Rare bleeding disorder (RBDs) encompasses a deficiency of one or more of FXIII, FXI, FX, FVII, FV, FII, and FI clotting factors, leading to bleeding disorders with variable presentations and outcomes ranging from none or minimal to life-threatening events. RBDs are still underdiagnosed and underreported, especially in Saudi population with a high prevalence of consanguinity. OBJECTIVES: The study aimed to determine the frequency of RBDs, grading of their bleeding severity, and assessment of clinical manifestations and management of RBDs in tertiary Saudi Arabian hospitals. DESIGN AND SETTINGS: This retrospective study of RBDs describes the clinicopathological features of refereed cases to both Prince Sultan Military Medical City and King Khaled University Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from September 2018 to September 2021. Any patient who had already been diagnosed or suspected to have RBDs was enrolled in the study. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Patient's medical records were reviewed for demographic data, clinical presentations, bleeding and family history, consanguinity, treatment outcomes, and molecular testing. Samples were run in specialized coagulation laboratories. Patients with liver dysfunction or acquired factor deficiency were excluded. Patients were categorized into four groups according to the severity of bleeding episodes: asymptomatic, Grade I, Grade II, and Grade III. RESULTS: A total of 26 cases with RBDs were identified during the study period. Most of the included patients are males and pediatrics (<14 years) representing 15 (57.7%) and 14 (53.8%), respectively. FVII was the most common factor deficiency encountered in 9 (35%) patients, followed by FXIII in 5 (19%), FXI in 4 (15%), FX in 3 (11.5%), FV in 3 (11.5%), and combined factor deficiency in 2 (8%) patients. 17 (65.4%) RBD patients presented with bleeding manifestation either with Grade I (9%), Grade II (39%), or Grade III (15%), whereas 47% were asymptomatic. CONCLUSION: The study emphasizes on importance of establishing a national registry of RBDs in Saudi Arabia and the need for further genetic studies to clarify the genotype/phenotype relationships. This multi-disciplinary, cross-sectional, and descriptive study investigated health care students' face mask use knowledge, attitude, and practices (KAP) and social distancing attitudes. The study was carried out from October to December 2021 and surveyed 543 health care students selected via convenience sampling from the three Shaqra University campuses in Saudi Arabia. Standard multiple linear regressions were conducted on face mask use KAP and social distancing attitude to identify their significant associated factors. The students in this study had poor knowledge and a neutral attitude towards and modest use practices of face masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Being female, being a nursing student, and having greater self-reported COVID-19-prevention knowledge were related to higher levels of face mask use knowledge. Having higher face mask use knowledge was linked to better attitude and practice. Knowledge of COVID-19 and its prevention and decreased COVID-19 risk perception were associated with better face mask use practices. The students had more positive than negative attitudes toward social distancing. Having known someone who was infected by the virus, lower risk perception, and better face mask use practices were associated with more positive social distancing attitudes. The findings imply the need to ensure that future health care practitioners are knowledgeable, have a positive attitude and good practices concerning face mask use, and have positive attitudes toward social distancing. Background: The International Severe Acute Respiratory and Emerging Infections Consortium (ISARIC) 4C mortality score has been used before as a valuable tool for predicting mortality in COVID-19 patients. We aimed to address the utility of the 4C score in a well-defined Saudi population with COVID-19 admitted to a large tertiary referral hospital in Saudi Arabia. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted that included all adults COVID-19 patients admitted to the Armed Forces Hospital Southern Region (AFHSR), between January 2021 and September 2022. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve depicted the diagnostic performance of the 4C Score for mortality prediction. Results: A total of 1,853 patients were enrolled. The ROC curve of the 4C score had an area under the curve of 0.73 (95% CI: 0.702-0.758), p<0.001. The sensitivity and specificity with scores >8 were 80% and 58%, respectively, the positive and negative predictive values were 28% and 93%, respectively. Three hundred and sixteen (17.1%), 638 (34.4%), 814 (43.9%), and 85 (4.6%) patients had low, intermediate, high, and very high values, respectively. There were significant differences between survivors and non-survivors with regard to all variables used in the calculation of the 4C score. Multivariable logistic regression analysis revealed that all components of the 4C score, except gender and O2 saturation, were independent significant predictors of mortality. Conclusions: Our data support previous international and Saudi studies that the 4C mortality score is a reliable tool with good sensitivity and specificity in the mortality prediction of COVID-19 patients. The Anxiety Inventory for Respiratory Disease (AIR) is a reliable and valid scale for examining the anxiety in patients with COPD. This study aimed to cross-culturally adapt and translate the original AIR scale into the Arabic language and to examine its reliability and validity in Arab patients with COPD. This was a validation study conducted on 70 Arabic patients with COPD. The AIR-A and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) were completed on the first assessment. After two weeks, 55 patients completed the AIR-A scale again. The reliability was assessed by Cronbach's α and intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC2,1). Exploratory factor analysis (EFA), and the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were used to measure the structural validity. The construct validity was also explored. The AIR-A questionnaire had a Cronbach's α of 0.91 and ICC2,1 of 0.86. The EFA revealed that the AIR-A was unidimensional. The CFA showed the single-factor model required minor modifications to reach the best fit. The AIR-A was correlated with the HADS- anxiety (r = 0.89, p < 0.001). The Arabic version of AIR scale is reliable, and valid for assessing the anxiety disorder in Arabic speaking patients with COPD worldwide. The Arabic version of AIR will be useful for examining anxiety in Arabic speaking patients with COPD worldwide. Diabetes mellites (DM) is one of the most common systemic disorders in Saudi Arabia and worldwide. Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a potentially blinding ophthalmic consequence of uncontrolled DM. The early detection of DR leads to an earlier intervention, which might be sight-saving. Our aim in this cross-sectional study is to assess patients' knowledge and practices regarding DR, and to detect the barriers for eye screening and receiving a check-up from an ophthalmologist. The study included 386 diabetic patients. One hundred and thirty-one patients (33.9%) had T1DM and 188 (48.7%) had T2DM. Most of the diabetic patients (73.3%) know that they must have an eye check-up regardless of their blood sugar level. DM was agreed to affect the retina in 80.3% of the patients, 56% of patients agree that DM complications are always symptomatic, and 84.5% know that DM could affect their eyes. The fact that blindness is a complication of diabetic retinopathy was known by 65% of the diabetic patients. A better knowledge was detected among patients older than 50 years of age (54.9%) compared to those aged less than 35 years (40.9%), which was statistically significant (p = 0.030). Additionally, 61.2% of diabetic patients who were university graduates had a significantly better knowledge in comparison to 33.3% of illiterate patients (p = 0.006). Considering the barriers to not getting one's eyes screened earlier, a lack of knowledge was reported by 38.3% of the patients, followed by lack of access to eye care (24.4%). In conclusion, there is a remarkable increase in the awareness of DR among the Saudi population. This awareness might lead to an earlier detection and management of DR. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The COVID-19 pandemic has rekindled interest in online learning as a desirable substitute. In Saudi Arabia's educational system, technology and online learning are becoming more and more significant. In order to prepare students for the digital age and Saudi Vision 2030, there is an increasing desire for educational institutions to use e-learning. Students and faculty at Saudi institutions now have more opportunities to better grasp the globalized digital age thanks to the integration and acceptance of digital technology into learning and teaching. Therefore, this study aims to analyze and investigate the educational quality, social influence, and TAM Model factors that increase the students' attitude toward using e-learning; thus, it affects students' satisfaction and academic performance. The study was conducted at two universities in Saudi Arabia. Structural equation modeling (SEM) and route analysis were used to evaluate the research model and analyze data from e-learning users through a questionnaire. The findings revealed that perceived ease of use (PEU) and perceived usefulness (PU) mediate the effects of educational quality (EDQ), social influence (SOI), and perceived enjoyment (PE), which in turn affect students' attitude toward use (ATU), and students' satisfaction with using e-learning systems (SSE). Additionally, the results demonstrated that the mediator factors had favorable "R square (R2)" values for adopting e-learning systems in higher education, with PEU = 0.562, PU = 0.712, ATU = 0.608, and SSE = 0.636. Objective: The goal of the study is to appraise the diagnostic validity of carotid Doppler ultrasound in stroke patients. Design: Retrospective Setting: Aseer central Hospital, Abha, Saudi Arabia Methods: A total of 77 stroke patients, admitted to Asir Central Hospital (ACH), Saudi Arabia, from January 2017 to December 2018 were enrolled. The degree of carotid artery stenosis was assessed by CT-angiography and carotid Doppler ultrasonography. The degree of stenosis was classified as: <70% or >70% and <50% or >50%. Considering CT-angiography the gold standard reference test, the diagnostic validity of carotid Doppler ultrasonography was calculated. Results: The location of stenosis was in the internal carotid artery among 69% of patients, while in 19%, it involved both the common carotid and the internal carotid arteries. Doppler ultrasonography had a sensitivity of 100%, a specificity of 87.5%, a positive predictive value of 94.6%, a negative predictive value of 87.5%, and an overall accuracy of 96.1%, when considering cut-off point of 50% stenosis. Conclusion: Carotid Doppler ultrasound offers high diagnostic validity among stroke patients. It is highly recommended for screening cases with symptoms of transient ischemic attacks or for differential diagnosis of stroke. However, since it is operator-dependent, continued training of radiographers and the use of enhanced technology are essential to improve its diagnostic validity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

BACKGROUND: Anxiety and concern are among the most common problems facing healthcare workers (HCWs) during epidemic diseases. OBJECTIVE: To identify the predictive factors of anxiety, fears, and psychological distress among healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. METHODS: An online survey method was used on a sample of 153 of HCWs; (110) frontline and (43) non-frontline HCWs. They answered on the Hamilton anxiety rating scale, the Kessler psychological distress scale (K10), and the COVID-19 Concerns Questionnaire. RESULTS: The results demonstrated that 47.05% of HCWs have a severe level of fear related to COVID-19, 43.13% have very severe anxiety, and 30.71% experience severe psychological distress. The differences between frontline and non-frontline HCWs, female and male HCWs, and HCWs working in medical clinics, on quarantine, or in another place were significant in the three scales. Predictive factors of anxiety, fear, and psychological distress include working on the front lines, being female, and being over 50 years old. Meanwhile, working in a workplace with COVID-19 patients predicted anxiety and psychological distress, but not fears associated with COVID-19. Background: Inadequate neuromuscular recovery might impair pulmonary function among adult patients who undergo general anaesthesia and might thus contribute to critical respiratory events in the post-anaesthesia care unit (PACU). The pilot study aims to understand the baseline incidence of residual neuromuscular blockade (RNMB) and postoperative critical respiratory events (CREs), which are described in a modified Murphy's criteria in the PACU. Method: This is a prospective cohort study from January to March 2017 from a tertiary hospital in Saudi Arabia with thirty adult patients over 18 years old scheduled for elective surgery under general anaesthesia with neuromuscular blocking drugs (NMBDs) who were enrolled in the study. The Mann-Whitney U tests, chi-square tests and independent-samples T tests were used. The train-of-four (TOF) ratios were measured upon arrival in the PACU by using acceleromyography with TOF-Scan. Subjects' demographics, perioperative data and the occurrence of postoperative CREs in the PACU were recorded. Results: Twenty-six (86.7%) patients out of thirty in the study have received rocuronium as NMBDs whilst neostigmine as a reversal drug with only 23 (76.7%). The incidence of RNMB (TOF ratio < 0.9) was in 16 patients (53.3%). The incidence of RNMB was significantly higher in female patients (p = 0.033), in patients who had not undergone quantitative neuromuscular monitoring before extubation (p = 0.046) and in patients with a shorter duration of surgery (p = 0.001). Postoperative CREs occurred in twenty patients (66.7%), and there were significantly more of these CREs among patients with RNMB (p = 0.001). In addition, a statistically significant difference was observed in the occurrence of CREs according to body mass index (p = 0.047). Conclusion: This research showed that RNMB is a significant contributing factor to the development of critical respiratory events during PACU stay. Therefore, routine quantitative neuromuscular monitoring is recommended to reduce the incidence of RNMB. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

BACKGROUND: Over the past few months, there has been a significant increase in mortality and morbidity due to Coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Less attention has been paid to stigmatism, psychological well-being, hope, and religiosity, and how these may impact a patient's recovery. OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to detect the difference in religiosity, hope, self-stigma, and psychological well-being (PWB) due to demographic variables (age, education level, social status, and level of income). Additionally, the research sought to test the mediation role of religiosity and hope in the relationship between self-stigma and psychological well-being among COVID-19 patients. METHOD: A random sample of 426 COVID-19 patients answered an online questionnaire that contained four scales (Religiosity, Hope, stigma, and PWB). The data collected from the study participants were analyzed quantitatively by using One-way ANOVA, Exploratory Factor Analysis EFA, Confirmatory Factor Analysis CFA, and Structural Equation Model (IBM SPSS statistics 21, and Amos v.25). RESULTS: The current results showed statistically significant differences due to age in hope and well-being, in favor of the sample members belonging to the age group from 30 years old and over old, while there were no differences in religiosity and stigma due to age. There were no differences due to education level in religiosity, hope, stigma, and well-being. Results showed statistically significant differences in well-being in favor of the married group, while there were no differences in religiosity, hope, and stigma due to social status. Regarding the effect of income level in the study variables, the results showed no differences due to religiosity, hope, stigma, and well-being. Moreover, the findings found that both religiosity and hope play a mediating role. CONCLUSION: Religiosity and hope play a mediating role in the relationship between stigma associated with COVID-19 and psychological well-being. These results indicate several strategies to reduce the adverse effects of the stigma associated with COVID-19 and increase well-being among COVID-19 patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Prevalence of frailty has been previously established in different Western countries; however, the prevalence and the burden of in the aging populations of Saudi Arabia has not been examined. Therefore, the aim of this study was to examine the prevalence of frailty, and associated factors among Saudi older population.Methods: The study included a total of 486 community-dwelling elderly adults aged 60 years and over living in the Riyadh area. This study took place from August 2019 to June 2020. The prevalence of frailty was determined using the Fried's frailty phenotype. Association between sociodemographic features and clinical factors and frailty was estimated by Odds Ratio and confidence intervals (OR, IC 95%) using a multinomial logistic regression model.Results: The overall prevalence of pre-frailty and frailty were 47.3 and 21.4%, respectively. The following factors were associated with being frail: age (OR: 6.92; 95%CI 3.11-15.41); living alone (OR: 2.50; 95%CI: 1.12-5.59); had more chronic conditions (OR: 1.96; 95%CI: 1.16-3.30); and cognitive impairment (OR: 7.07; 95%CI: 3.92-12.74).Conclusions: The Compared with other populations, the prevalence of frailty and pre-frailty in the Riyadh region of Saudi Arabia was high. Acute appendicitis it a quite common abdominal disorder and considered as a difficult diagnosis. An accurate diagnosis is essential to prevent any complication from delayed surgical intervention. Aim: To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of ultrasound in acute appendicitis cases in Saudi Arabia compared with histopathology. Moreover, to determine whether there is a correlation between the accuracy of ultrasound in acute appendicitis and the sonographers' expertise. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted, including patients who admitted to the emergency room with clinical symptoms of suspected acute appendicitis and underwent ultrasound examinations. Diagnostic features, including diameter of the appendix ≥7 mm, free fluid, lack of compressibility, no appendix seen, normal appearance, and thick wall, were recorded for each patient. Results: Only 61 of the 132 patients in the study were accurately diagnosed with the use of ultrasound. Just 44 of them were diagnosed with appendicitis (true positives) and 17 without appendicitis (true negatives). However, 69 patients who had positive histopathologic results received a negative ultrasound diagnosis (false negatives), and 2 patients with negative histopathologic findings had a positive ultrasound diagnosis (false positives). There was no significant association between the accuracy of the ultrasound diagnosis and the years of experience of the sonographers. Conclusion: a low level of diagnostic accuracy was demonstrated when utilizing ultrasound to diagnose cases of acute appendicitis. Introduction: Dentistry is considered a stressful profession. Stress is defined as a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or demanding circumstances. In particular to paediatric dentistry, dental student’s anxiety and stress level is elevated to the peak as managing a child in the dental chair is a great challenge for any dentist. Aim: To evaluate self-reported levels of stress of dental students about performing different procedures in paediatric dentistry in Riyadh city. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among final year dental students in seven different dental schools in Riyadh city. The final questionnaire was used following literature review of similar studies, focus group and piloting stage. The questionnaire addressed upon stress of performing treatment on a child patient and the future specialty preference for final year dental students. Descriptive analysis was done using Microsoft Excel. The statistical analysis were performed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) (Version 22.0. Armonk, NY: IBM Corp.) and conducted at a Confidence Interval (CI) of 95%, and a significance level of 0.05. Internal consistency of the questionnaire was assessed by calculating Cronbach’s alpha. The level of significance was set at p-value <0.05. Results: The study included 176 participants of which 92 males and 84 females. A 43.8% of the dental students are not stressed of having the patient’s guardian in the clinic during the time of treatment, some are little confident in using the non-pharmacological management approaches for uncooperative child. A 54% of the students are quite stressed when performing dental treatment for preschool children. Conclusion: The current study revealed that both genders show some similarity in their answers, with the majority having no or little stress providing paediatric treatment. The World Health Organization (WHO), on March 11th 2020, upgraded the status of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) from epidemic to pandemic. Over two million individuals have been infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus causing COVID-19, and as of April, 14th 2020, there were over 5000 confirmed cases in Saudi Arabia (SA). Many countries, including SA, have imposed major restrictions on travel, and everyday life, and the implications of these necessary changes are being felt in liver transplant (LT) centers in SA. Concerns remain that there is an increased risk for individuals over 65 years of age, with underlying medical conditions, or for those who are immunocompromised. Therefore, the Saudi Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and Transplantation (SASLT) established an urgent task force to launch a statement that can be utilized by LT centers as a guidance in the management of patients with advanced liver disease from the time of LT listing to the post-operative care of transplanted patients. Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a major public health problem and represents commonest form of dementia that affects many aspects of brain functions and contributes to 60–70% of dementia cases. No study has been conducted in Saudi Arabia to measure the prevalence of AD. However, approximately there are at least 50,000 patients in Saudi Arabia based on an expert's estimation. Public knowledge and awareness about Alzheimer's disease are crucial for early diagnosis and management. Objective: To investigate the public's knowledge and attitudes toward Alzheimer's disease in Aseer region. Subject and methods: Cross-sectional study has employed an electronic online, semi-structured, and self-administered questionnaire, randomly distributed among participants. The questions included sociodemographics, attitudes, and knowledge panels toward Alzheimer's disease based on Alzheimer's Disease Knowledge Scale (ADKS). Results: The study included 1374 participants with a mean age 33 ± 11 years (ages18–70). The majority of the participants (77%) had no family history with Alzheimer's disease. Less than 50% of the questions were answered correctly and the mean knowledge score was 10.77 ± 5.11. The results revealed that young-aged participants, females, and those having a family history of the disease, have significantly (P < 0.05) better AD-related knowledge. Conclusion: The study revealed an inadequate AD-related knowledge as indicated by the low mean knowledge score. However, participants have demonstrated a positive attitude toward AD patients. Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the correlations of religiosity and psychological resilience with mental health among cancer patients and to examine whether religiosity and psychological resilience can predict mental health. Method: The sample consisted of 329 patients. Researchers applied Islamic Religiosity Scale, Wagnild and Young Resilience Scale, and the scale of Hospital Anxiety and Depression. Results: The results showed that there are positive, statistically significant correlations between religiosity and psychological resilience, while there were negative, statistically significant correlations of religiosity and psychological resilience with mental health. And there are correlations between the alternative therapeutic interventions currently used to religiosity and psychological resilience, while there were no statistically significant correlations between alternative therapeutic interventions that the patient will use in the future to religiosity and psychological resilience. The results also revealed the possibility of predicting mental health through religiosity and psychological resilience. This research was designed to investigate the effects of using online undergraduate courses, based on Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) strategies, in order to enhance students' self-regulation and academic outcomes at the University of Bisha in Saudi Arabia. A quasi-experimental design was applied in this study. Sampling consisted of 70 female students from the Educational Faculty at the University of Bisha. Two types of online courses were used to teach the same concept. A group of students was taught online course supported on SRL strategies and the other group by using an online course not supported on SRL strategies. The result of independent samples ttest and one-way analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) showed that the online course supported on SRL strategies has a significant effect on students' selfregulation and academic outcomes. The causes and treatment of epilepsy might be influenced by social and cultural effects. Research indicates that laypeople in general in Saudi Arabia may hold cultural beliefs about seizures. This qualitative study was carried out to explore how parents understand seizures, realize the suffering of their children and whether their understanding affects the way they seek appropriate help. Parents believed seizures are attributed to cultural and spiritual factors. For health professionals in Saudi Arabia, developing a model of cultural competence for the management of epilepsy is seen as an important goal for better understanding and better interventions. The purpose of this study is to provide quantitative data on parental experiences with their children with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and to focus more on their opinion about medication and the role of psychological assessment and interventions. The study sample included 211 parents of children with ADHD. More than half of the parents think that ADHD could be treated without medication and that their child is too young to have psychotropic medication with its side effects. There were concerns about misdiagnosis and being too quick to prescribe medications. Psychometric assessment and psychological intervention were infrequently used and their experience with combined interventions is almost rare. Pressure from schools to prescribe medication was one of the parents’ concerns. Parental satisfaction with medication occurred when an improvement in school performance was noted. It is essential for health professionals to be aware of parents’ experiences and to develop a proper evidence-based intervention for ADHD which includes psychological counselling or combined interventions and not to rely on medication intervention alone. The current study was designed to explore the prevalence of attention-deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD) in primary schools in Saudi Arabia. The study collected data from both teachers and parents for 708 primary school pupils attending grades 1-3 (7-9 years old), using DSM-IV criteria of ADHD. The result showed that the overall rate of ADHD was 2.7%, and in particular, the rate of attention types, 2.0%; hyperactive/impulsivity type, 1.4% and combined type, 0.7%. Teachers reported ADHD in a higher frequency than parents. However, applying a combination of reports from teachers and parents, screening of ADHD is likely to be more accurate. Mobile Enterprise and the reliance on consumer devices to conduct business are the backbone of the current mobile trend and enterprises are realizing the need to transform to mobile enabled enterprises and are adopting different frameworks and methodologies to accomplish this purpose. This paper utilises the Mobile Holistic Enterprise Transformation Framework (MHETF) to plan for a mobile transformation and suggested transitioning model. The case study concerns an application covering five management divisions (Human Resources, IT, Quality Assurance, Operation Excellency and Engineering) in a large Saudi company which intends to automate the visits of their representatives’ to their regional branches which are required to be carried out regularly, and to minimize their workload. This paper presents an overview of ethical issues in professional psychology. Specifically, it addresses the broad ethical ideas and views of psychological practices, in light of cultural competency. Its aim is to be the first Saudi document about ethics and professionalism, with a specific purpose as a guideline for trainees becoming culturally competent ethical psychologists. This paper describes the ethical code through three main categories: General Ethical Standards; Ethical Issues about Assessment and Treatments; and Cultural Competency and Professionalism Issues. Furthermore, it attempts to illustrate some of the cultural dilemmas connected with the application of international psychological ethical guidelines, particularly in Saudi Arabia. Patient' needs have been found to be crucial to the success of rehabilitation and recovery. To understand what patients want from their rehabilitation services should be addressed in the rehabilitation intervention. This study aims to examine patients' needs for rehabilitation services as well as to examine the validity of a self-report questionnaire that developed to measure what patient needs from rehabilitation services in Saudi Arabia. Tow hundreds-eighty patients, from inpatients and outpatients, with stroke, spinal cord and brain injury completed the Patient's Needs Questionnaire (PNQ). In general, the result showed that patients are in highly needs for Psychological Interventions, even before Rehabilitation and Treatment component. In detail, Psychological Intervention and Emotional Support were significantly greater in inpatients than in outpatients. Outpatients, in contrast, affirmed the Religious Support component significantly more than inpatients did. The statistical analysis of PNQ yielded four components: psychological interventions, rehabilitation and treatment, religious support, and explanation/reassurance. These components accounted for 48.71% of the total variances. Rehabilitation services is not only the component of rehabilitation intervention and medical treatments, indeed, it is a holistic intervention that understand the psychological, religious, and reassurance demands. The health provider in Saudi Arabia should develop a rehabilitation goal menu based on patient-centred care needs. Digital transformation of businesses has seen tremendous growth recently, moreover, COVID-19 has increased online shopping. However, it is important for businesses that customers' online shopping experience is secure and joyful. In this paper, customers' security perception regarding some leading mobile commerce applications in Saudi Arabia is explored. Our survey questions focused on three aspects, namely: Consumer rating, trustworthiness, and credit card security. The results highlight that consumers perceive that mobile commerce applications in Saudi Arabia need further improvement in security. In this work, a model to improve customers' security perception in Saudi Arabia is presented. This model can be generalized to other geographical regions as well. Objective To develop a self-report questionnaire to measure the beliefs of Arabic primary care patients about the causes of their physical symptoms; to use this to quantify the beliefs of patients consulting their general practitioners (GPs) in Saudi Arabia; and to test whether patients with psychological problems differ from others in their beliefs, particularly religious and supernatural beliefs. Methods Consecutive patients ( N = 224) completed a specially developed aetiological beliefs’ questionnaire. Patients were divided into two groups (cases and non-cases of emotional disorder) according to the GHQ-12. Results Religious and supernatural aspects of culture colour patients’ symptom beliefs: that their symptoms were a test or punishment from Allah’ was the most common belief. Even in non-cases, around half the patients also endorsed nerves and stress as a cause of their physical symptoms. Cases were more likely than non-cases to endorse items related to both religious and psychological factors. Conclusion There is no support for the view that Saudi Arabian patients explain symptoms supernaturally as a way of denying psychological factors. GPs and health professionals in Saudi primary care need to understand what patients believe to be the cause of their problems and to appreciate that religious and psychological beliefs are both very common. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a broad, umbrella term that encompasses the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks normally requiring human intelligence. The aim of this study is to assess the radiology community's attitude in Saudi Arabia toward the applications of AI. Methods: Data for this study were collected using electronic questionnaires in 2019 and 2020. The study included a total of 714 participants. Data analysis was performed using SPSS Statistics (version 25). Results: The majority of the participants (61.2%) had read or heard about the role of AI in radiology. We also found that radiologists had statistically different responses and tended to read more about AI compared to all other specialists. In addition, 82% of the participants thought that AI must be included in the curriculum of medical and allied health colleges, and 86% of the participants agreed that AI would be essential in the future. Even though human–machine interaction was considered to be one of the most important skills in the future, 89% of the participants thought that it would never replace radiologists. Conclusion: Because AI plays a vital role in radiology, it is important to ensure that radiologists and radiographers have at least a minimum understanding of the technology. Our finding shows an acceptable level of knowledge regarding AI technology and that AI applications should be included in the curriculum of the medical and health sciences colleges. Background: Hand grip strength (HGS) is an important function of upper extremities for older adults. Several studies have shown the importance of measuring HGS in different settings. Current established normative values of HGS are applicable for Western countries. However, there is limited information of normative values of HGS after considering demographics in Saudi population. Therefore, this study aimed to establish normative values of HGS stratified by age and gender, and to determine the association of anthropometric measurements with the HGS in Saudi population.Methods: A cross-sectional study included a total of 1048 participants (mean age 73 ± 5 years). Grip strength was calculated by the average peak force of three trials for the dominant hand using a dynamometer. Sociodemographic data on age, gender, marital status, educational levels were collected. Anthropometric measurements including height, body mass index, arm circumference, and upper arm length were obtained. The sample was categorized into three age groups: 65-69 years, 70-74 years, and 75-80 years. Linear regression analysis was used to assess the association between the sociodemographic and anthropometric data and HGS.Results: The mean values of HGS (kg) for men for each age group were 36.9 ± 8.3 for the younger group, 35.7 ± 7.4 for the 70-74 years group and 30.5 ± 7.1 for the older group. The mean values of HGS for women for each group were 23.2 ± 4.7 for the younger group, 21.1 ± 4.6 for the 70-74 years group and 18.8 ± 4.9 for the older group. The HGS was negatively associated with the age for men (B = -.40, 95% confidence interval (CI) [-.52, -.29], p < 0.001) and women (B = -.30, 95% CI [- 0.38, - 0.22], p < 0.001), and positively associated with the arm length in men (B = .87, 95% CI [.60, 1.15], p < 0.001). The HGS was positively associated with the educational level in men (B = .66, 95% CI [.09,1.21], p = .02), but negatively associated in women (B = -.42, 95% CI [- 0.75, - 0.08], p = .01).Conclusion: This study is the first that established normative values of HGS for older adults in Saudi Arabia.
