Highlights: [•] The Fe–Ti-rich gabbros in western Shandong were emplaced at ∼1.21Ga. [•] They are grouped into the alkaline and sub-alkaline series. [•] A combination of the Fe-rich source and low fO2 resulted in the Fe–Ti enrichment. [•] They were likely generated by partial melting of garnet-spinel transitional mantle.
