Background: The mental health of students is affected by COVID-19. We aim to evaluate the anxiety and depression symptoms among college students during COVID-19 pandemic, analyze the influence factors that contribute to college students' anxiety and depression symptoms, and provide some suggestions for improving the mental health of college students. Methods: With 179 college students participating, an online questionnaire consisting of a general questionnaire, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7), and Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) was conducted in universities in Shanghai. The anxiety and depression symptoms among college students were evaluated using GAD-7 and PHQ-9 scales, and influence factors were analyzed using an unordered multi-class Logistic regression model. Results: The reliability and validity of the GAD-7 and PHQ-9 scales were good (reliability ≥ 0.9, validity = 100%). The incidence of anxiety was 32.4%, of which were 23.5%, 8.4%, and 0.6% in mild, moderate, and severe, respectively; and the incidence of depression was 46.40%, of which in mild, moderate, moderate to severe, and severe were 28.5%, 10.1%, 7.3%, and 0.6%, respectively. Multivariate analysis revealed that male students with strong psychological quality, who were not easily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, who received less negative or false information, and who had a strong grasp of psychology and related knowledge were less likely to suffer from mild or moderate anxiety symptoms [OR (95% CI) 0.18 (0.04, 0.81), 0.12 (0.05, 0.33), 0.23 (0.06, 0.89) and 0.07 (0.01, 0.74)]. Furthermore, college students who were not affected by the COVID-19 pandemic were less likely to suffer from mild, moderate, and moderate to severe depression symptoms [OR (95% CI) 0.23 (0.08, 0.65), 0.22 (0.05, 0.93), 0.10 (0.02, 0.54)]. Conclusion: The GAD-7 and PHQ-9 scales are suitable for evaluating anxiety and depression symptoms in college students. The COVID-19 pandemic was associated with a high incidence of anxiety and depression symptoms among college students, although gender and mental state fluctuations during the pandemic, negative and false information, and exposure to psychology and related courses were the main influencing factors. The potential roles of solar ultraviolet radiation (UVR) as an environmental risk factor in inducing atopic dermatitis (AD) have not been well quantified. To determine the short-term associations between UVR and AD outpatient visits, we obtained daily outpatient visits of AD in Shanghai Skin Disease Hospital from 2013 to 2018. Data of hourly ground UVR were collected. We applied overdispersed generalized additive model to explore its associations. We found that daily exposure to UVR-A rather than UVR-B was positively associated with AD outpatient visits. The visits increased on the present day (lag 0 days) and decreased appreciably with longer lags and became insignificant at lag 4 days. For 10 w/m2 increase in daytime mean and noontime mean exposure to overall UVR and UVR-A from lag 0 to 6 days, the cumulative relative risk of AD was 1.12/1.13 and 1.08/1.08, respectively. Stronger effects of UVR exposure on AD occurred in patients aged 0–7 and > 45 years and in the cold seasons. The association between residential greenspace and preterm birth (PTB) risk remained inconclusive. The PTB subtypes have been ignored and the effect of co-exposure of PM 2.5 on PTB risk is still unclear. To investigate the independent, interactive, and mixed effects of residential greenspace and PM 2.5 on the risk of PTB subtypes. A total of 19,900 singleton births from 20 hospitals in Shanghai, China, from 2015 to 2017 were included. The Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) within 500 m and 1000 m buffers of the maternal residence and a combined geoscience-statistical model-derived PM 2.5 and its six components were used as the exposure measures. PTB (<37 completed weeks of gestation) were divided into early PTB (24–33 weeks) vs. late PTB (34–36 weeks) and into spontaneous PTB (sPTB), preterm premature rupture of the fetal membranes (PPROM), and iatrogenic PTB. Multivariable logistic regression models were applied to assess the independent and interactive effects of NDVI and PM 2.5 on PTB in each trimester. The quantile g-computation approach was employed to explore the mixture effect of PM 2.5 components and greenspace across the pregnancy and to determine the main contributors. Levels of PM 2.5 and greenspace were associated with increased [aOR (95%CI) ranging from 1.18 (1.07, 1.30) to 3.36 (2.45, 4.64)] and decreased risks [aORs (95%CI) ranging from 0.64 (0.53, 0.78) to 0.86 (0.73, 0.99)] of PTB subtypes, respectively. At the same PM 2.5 level, higher residential greenspace was associated with lower risks, and vice versa. All these associations were more pronounced in late pregnancy. Early PTB and PPROM were the main affected subtypes, and the main drivers in PM 2.5 were black carbon and ammonium. Residential greenspace may mitigate the PTB risks due to PM 2.5 exposure during pregnancy. We assessed the potential contribution of hospitals to contaminations of wastewater by enteric protists, including Cryptosporidium spp., Giardia duodenalis, and Enterocytozoon bieneusi in raw wastewater. Wastewater samples were collected from storage tanks in two hospitals and one associated wastewater treatment plant in Shanghai, China, from March to November 2009. Enteric pathogens were detected and identified using PCR and DNA sequencing techniques. Among a total of 164 samples analyzed, 31 (18.9%), 45 (27.4%), and 122 (74.4%) were positive for Cryptosporidium spp., G. duodenalis, and E. bieneusi, respectively. Altogether, three Cryptosporidium species, four G. duodenalis assemblages, and 12 E. bieneusi genotypes were detected. Cryptosporidium hominis, G. duodenalis sub-assemblage AII, and E. bieneusi genotype D were the dominant ones in wastewater from both hospitals and the wastewater treatment plant. A similar distribution in genotypes of enteric pathogens was seen between samples from hospitals and the wastewater treatment plant, suggesting that humans are one of the major sources for these pathogens and hospitals are important contributors of enteric parasites in urban wastewater. Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of postoperative concurrent chemoradiation therapy using weekly docetaxel in patients with high-risk oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC).Methods and Materials: This is a prospective single-arm study from a single institute in Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai, China. Patients with locally stage III to IV OSCC who underwent radical surgery with at least 1 high-risk feature were enrolled for the study. High-risk features evaluated included (1) pathologically confirmed positive or close margins in the primary site or extracapsular nodal extension; (2) histologic involvement of ≥2 regional lymph nodes; and (3) locoregional recurrent OSCC (after initial surgery alone) treated with salvage surgery with curative intent. Docetaxel was administered at a dose of 20 mg/m2 concurrently with postoperative radiation therapy (total dose 60-66 Gy). The primary outcome was 2-year disease-free survival (DFS). Secondary endpoints included 2-year locoregional progress-free survival, 2-year overall survival (OS), and toxicities.Results: From March 2016 to February 2018, 91 patients (59 males, 32 females) were recruited. Median age was 59 years (range, 26-70). All patients were included in final analysis. Fifty-eight patients (63.7%) completed the 6 planned cycles of docetaxel, and all patients completed postoperative radiation therapy. With a median follow-up of 24 months, the 2-year DFS and OS were 75.3% (95% confidence interval, 65.7%-84.2%) and 82.4% (95% confidence interval, 73.0%-89.6%), respectively. Patterns of failure were 13 local recurrences, 2 regional lymph nodes recurrences, and 8 distant failures. Seven patients (7.7%) were recorded as having grade 3 oral cavity mucositis. Two patients had grade 3 hypersensitivity reaction. No other grade 3 or higher adverse events, including hematologic toxicities, were observed.Conclusions: The addition of low-dose weekly docetaxel with concurrent radiation therapy is a tolerable regimen with favorable DFS and OS in patients with high-risk, resected OSCC.
