The article reports on research conducted to perform an analysis of elite supercross bicycle motocross athletes. Researchers evaluated 26 male and female elite riders in video footage. They found that the elite men took 39.62 ± 0.78 seconds to complete a track, using 30.45 ± 3.2 pedal strokes and spent 11.83 ± 1.11, 9.64 ± 1.79, and 1 7.05 ± 1.51 seconds pedaling, jumping, and pumping, and that the women did not perform as quickly and spent more time pedaling, jumping and pumping.
