Abstract

The article presents a study of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) polymorphism within the Daic and Austro-Asiatic families in Southeast Asia. HVS-1 region sequencing was applied to classify all the Daic populations from different places. The authors express that the mtDNA data of the studied families have significant use in the study of human history in East Asia.
