Abstract

The article discusses the development of a method to sense sound remotely without relying in an interferometer or a window by researchers from Bar-Ilan University in Israel and the Universitat de València in Spain. The method uses a single laser beam that is shone on the monitored subjects such as humans or a cellular telephone. The speckles that appear in an out-of-focus image of the object are tracked and produced information from a spectogram.
