To evaluate the level of knowledge and adherence to Clinical Practice Guidelines on fibromyalgia of physiotherapists in Spain. A cross-sectional study using an ad-hoc online survey was implemented to assess aspects on the assessment, treatment, and decision of the length of the therapeutic approach on fibromyalgia. Based on the results, professionals were classified as adherent, partially adherent, or non-adherent. The level of agreement with several statements on the condition was also evaluated across the professionals surveyed to evaluate the potential consensus. A total of 240 physiotherapists met inclusion criteria, amongst which 68 (28.33%) were adherent. The academic level of studies (Chi-square = 48.601, p-value = 0.001) and having had previous training in fibromyalgia (Chi-square = 151.011, p-value = 0.001) displayed statistically significant differences across adherence-based groups. Consensus was reached for 15 out of 24 statements. Our findings highlight the presence of an acceptable level of knowledge and adherence to clinical practice guidelines in the field of fibromyalgia among physiotherapists in Spain. Practice implications Our results also reveal the existence of an evidence-to-practice gap in the field, with potential room for improvement: further efforts on promoting and reinforcing the importance of evidence-based therapies are needed, from university teaching plans to clinical updates for daily practice. Background: Recently, Europe has seen an emergence of mosquito-borne viruses (MBVs). Understanding citizens' perceptions of and behaviours towards mosquitoes and MBVs is crucial to reduce disease risk. We investigated and compared perceptions, knowledge, and determinants of citizens' behavioural intentions related to mosquitoes and MBVs in the Netherlands and Spain, to help improve public health interventions. Methods: Using the validated MosquitoWise survey, data was collected through participant panels in Spain (N = 475) and the Netherlands (N = 438). Health Belief Model scores measuring behavioural intent, knowledge, and information scores were calculated. Confidence Interval-Based Estimation of Relevance was used, together with potential for change indexes, to identify promising determinants for improving prevention measure use. Results: Spanish participants' responses showed slightly higher intent to use prevention measures compared to those of Dutch participants (29.1 and 28.2, respectively, p 0.03). Most participants in Spain (92.2%) and the Netherlands (91.8%) indicated they used at least one prevention measure, but differences were observed in which types they used. More Spanish participants indicated to have received information on mosquitoes and MBVs compared to Dutch participants. Spanish participants preferred health professional information sources, while Dutch participants favoured government websites. Determinants for intent to use prevention measures included "Knowledge", "Reminders to Use Prevention Measures", and "Information" in the Netherlands and Spain. Determinants for repellent use included "Perceived Benefits" and "Cues to Action", with "Perceived Benefits" having a high potential for behavioural change in both countries. "Self-Efficacy" and "Knowledge" were determinants in both countries for breeding site removal. Conclusion: This study found differences in knowledge between the Netherlands and Spain but similarities in determinants for intent to use prevention measures, intent to use repellents and intent to remove mosquito breeding sites. Although scales that evaluate postpartum stress exist, they lack specificity in maternal postpartum stress. The MPSS was created because there was a need to assess maternal stress during the postpartum stage. The introduction of the MPSS has enriched the evaluation tools for postpartum stress and has helped understand maternal stress at various postpartum time points and identify women at high risk for postpartum stress during this period. The aim was to translate the MPSS into Spanish and study its psychometric properties. Postpartum women (N = 167) with a mean age of 34.26 (SD = 4.71) were involved in this study. In addition to the MPSS, a battery of instruments was administered: a demographic sheet, the Birth Satisfaction Scale-Revised (BSS-R) and the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS). The MPSS data were analyzed, checking item communality first. As a result, three items showed unsatisfactory communality values (h2 < 0.40). Confirmatory Factor Analysis was conducted, comparing factor models using the full pool of MPSS items or the version without items with unacceptable communality. As a result, the original three-factor structure was endorsed on the Spanish MPSS, with better fit indices when removing items with low communality (RMSEA = 0.067, CFI = 0.99, TLI = 0.99). The reliability of this version was satisfactory (ω = 0.93). Finally, group comparisons for some perinatal variables were performed, showing no significant differences between groups of interest (p = 0.05 and above). Aim. Transculturally adapt the Pieper-Zulkowski Pressure Ulcer Knowledge Test V2 to the healthcare context of pressure injuries in Galicia and determine the psychometric properties of the questionnaire adapted to Galician. Methods. Cross-cultural adaptation of the questionnaire following the steps of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research, estimating face and content validity and crosssectional observational study with descriptive, bivariate and psychometric analysis: Rasch, reliability, stability of the self-administered questionnaire PZ-PUKT 72 adapted to Galician. Results. The Galician PZ-PKUT has good conceptual-semantic equivalence to the original questionnaire, as well as very good face validity and content validity (x̄ : 0.96; R: 0.87-1). A total of 121 health professionals participated, with a mean age of 44.6 years and 104 were women (86%). The total average score was 72.7%, with statistically significant differences between the score and sociodemographic variables. The items have a good fit of the Rasch model and a wide range of difficulty (R: -37.32-2.55). Cronbach's alpha 0.809. Intraclass Correlation Coefficient was 0.906 and the stability represented by the Bland-Altman diagram was acceptable. Discussion. The Galician PZ-PUKT 72 has good face and content validity relate the original version, showing appropriate psychometric characteristics: good reliability if administered completely, temporal stability and construct validity. It requires studies that evaluate its properties in other samples and the possibility of dividing the instrument into 3 subscales. Background: Several instruments have been designed to assess the childbirth experience. The Childbirth Experience Questionnaire (CEQ) is one of the most widely used tools. There is an improved version of this instrument, the Childbirth Experience Questionnaire (CEQ 2.0), which has not been adapted or validated for use in Spain. The aim of present study is to adapt the CEQ 2.0 to the Spanish context and evaluate its psychometric properties. Methods: This research was carried out in 2 stages. In the first stage, a methodological study was carried out in which the instrument was translated and back-translated, content validity was assessed by 10 experts (by calculating Aiken's V coefficient) and face validity was assessed in a sample of 30 postpartum women. In the second stage, a cross-sectional study was carried out to evaluate construct validity by using confirmatory factor analysis, reliability evaluation (internal consistency and temporal stability) and validation by known groups. Results: In Stage 1, a Spanish version of the CEQ 2.0 (CEQ-E 2.0) was obtained with adequate face and content validity, with Aiken V scores greater than 0.70 for all items. A final sample of 500 women participated in Stage 2 of the study. The fit values for the obtained four-domain model were RMSEA = 0.038 [95% CI: 0.038–0.042], CFI = 0.989 [95% CI: 0.984–0.991], and GFI = 0.990 [95% CI: 0.982–0.991]. The overall Omega and Cronbach's Alpha coefficients were 0.872 [95% CI: 0.850–0.891] and 0.870 [95% CI: 0.849–0.890] respectively. A coefficient of intraclass correlation of 0.824 [95% CI: 0.314–0.936] (p ≤ 0.001) and a concordance coefficient of 0.694 [95% CI: 0.523–0.811] were obtained. Purpose: To describe the self-reported practices on the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) by ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialists in Spain to identify potential areas for management optimization. Methods: A cross-sectional online survey with 16 questions was carried out. Recruitment was performed by emailing registered ENT specialists in the Spanish Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery (SEORL-CCC). Results: In total, 127 ENT specialists completed the survey. Fifty-one percent of respondents combined clinical criteria and objective evidence of mucosal inflammation to diagnose CRSwNP. Patient interview and, to a lower degree, a visual analogue scale were the most employed diagnostic tools to quantify symptom severity. Less than half (45%) routinely used the 22-item sino-nasal outcomes test (SNOT-22) to assess the impact of CRSwNP disease in quality of life. The use of patient-reported outcomes and other clinical evaluation tools showed a larger uptake among ENT specialists that worked at an ENT department with an available rhinology unit. Almost all the specialists surveyed (95%) recommended biological treatment, particularly in patients with uncontrolled CRSwNP with respiratory comorbidities (76%), as well as in candidates for revision surgery (66%). Conclusion: Spanish otorhinolaryngologists showed a trend toward incorporating CRSwNP guideline recommendations in their clinical practice. The observed low uptake of patient-reported outcomes and objective clinical evaluation tools in routine clinical practise have been identified as areas for optimizing the management of patients with CRSwNP. The objective is to assess the perception of gynecologists regarding patients' adherence to vulvovaginal atrophy (VVA) treatments, to evaluate the gynecologists' opinions on what their patients think about treatment adherence, and to compare the gynecologists' opinions with the patients' own perceptions within the CRETA study. Spanish gynecologists who participated in the CRETA study were asked to fill out an online 41-item questionnaire to evaluate their views on VVA management. From 29 centers across Spain, 44 gynecologists completed the survey. Their mean age was 47.2 years old, two-thirds of them were women, and the average professional experience was over 20 years. According to the gynecologists, the therapy most frequently used by VVA-diagnosed women was vaginal moisturizers (45.5%), followed by local estrogen therapy (36.4%) and ospemifene (18.2%). Nevertheless, ospemifene was viewed as the therapeutic option with the most efficacy, easiest route of administration, shorter time to symptom improvement, lower percentage of dropouts, and higher treatment adherence. Spanish gynecologists are in general agreement with their patients regarding VVA treatment preferences and the main issues for adherence and effectiveness. Obstetric violence refers to dehumanized or derogative treatment of women in their pregnancy, childbirth or postpartum periods and may be manifested in different ways. Currently, there is no tool validated in Spain to measure women's perception of obstetric violence. The objective of this study was to carry out the cultural adaptation and validation of an existing 14-item obstetric violence scale in the Spanish context and to evaluate its psychometric properties. The research was conducted in two phases: first, a methodological study designed to evaluate content validity, through assessments by eight experts (calculating the Aiken V coefficient) and face validity in a sample of 20 women; second, a cross-sectional study to evaluate construct validity (through confirmatory factor analysis and Rasch analysis), divergent validity against a scale of birth satisfaction, known-groups validity and, finally, reliability. In Phase 1, Aiken V values higher than 0.71 were obtained for all items. Phase 2 was conducted on a sample of 256 women and the fit values for the unidimensional model were RMSEA: 0.070 (95% CI: 0.059–0.105) and GFI: 0.982 (95% CI: 0.823–0.990). The Rasch analysis indicated poor performance of item 2, which was removed. The Omega and Cronbach's Alpha coefficients were 0.863 and 0.860, respectively. A final 13-item version of the Obstetric Violence Scale was produced, with a total score ranging from 0 (no obstetric violence perception) to 52 (maximum obstetric violence perception). This study aimed to evaluate the self-reported satisfaction of Spanish postmenopausal women currently treated for vulvovaginal atrophy (VVA) symptoms. The CRETA (CRoss sectional European sTudy on Adherence) is a multicenter cross-sectional study conducted in 29 public and private hospitals in Spain, which enrolled postmenopausal women receiving treatment with ospemifene, local hormone therapy (HT) or vaginal moisturizers for VVA. After the prior informed consent of the patients, sociodemographic and treatment perception data were collected using a structured questionnaire. Among 752 women who completed the survey, the satisfaction score was significantly higher for the group treated with ospemifene (mean 8.3 ± 1.4) compared with the local HT group (7.2 ± 1.7) and the vaginal moisturizer group (6.5 ± 2.1) according to a 10-point Likert scale (p < 0.0001). Compared to vaginal moisturizers and local HT, participants treated with ospemifene reported the highest adherence (96.7% vs. 70.2% and 78.6%, respectively) and the lowest number of missed doses in the last month (0.6 ± 1.3 standard deviation [SD] vs. 3.5 ± 4.3 SD and 2.0 ± 2.8 SD, respectively) (p < 0.0001). Ospemifene was significantly perceived as easy to use (83.9% vs. 44.9% and 58.6%, respectively; p < 0.0001), efficacious in reducing the time to relieve symptoms (17.1% vs. 7.0% and 6.7%, p = 0.0005 and p = 0.0006, respectively) and convenient for sexual life (53.1% vs. 25.6% and 42.3%, p < 0.0001 and p = 0.0234, respectively). Among postmenopausal women with VVA, treatment with ospemifene has the most positive perceptions and the highest overall satisfaction level and could be an optimal therapeutic approach, maximizing patient adherence. To assess the correlation of different vulvovaginal atrophy therapeutic options with the quality of life of postmenopausal women. The CRETA study is a descriptive, observational, cross-sectional, multicenter study designed to measure, besides treatment satisfaction and adherence, the quality of life of postmenopausal women diagnosed with vulvovaginal atrophy in 29 hospitals and centers across Spain. The study enrolled postmenopausal women currently receiving treatment with vaginal moisturizers, local estrogen therapy or ospemifene. Clinical features and treatment perceptions were collected by self-report questionnaire and quality of life was evaluated using the Cervantes scale. Among the 752 women included, the ospemifene cohort showed a statistically significant lower global score (44.9 ± 21.7) on the Cervantes scale (and therefore, a better quality of life) than the cohorts treated with moisturizers (52.5 ± 21.6, p = 0.003) or local estrogen therapy (49.2 ± 23.8, p = 0.0473). In the analysis by domains, ospemifene-treated women showed statistically significant better scores in menopause & health and psychological status than moisturizers-treated women (p < 0.05). In the domains of sexuality and couple relations, the score for the quality of life of the ospemifene cohort was statistically significantly better than the scores in either of the cohorts treated with moisturizers (p < 0.001) or local estrogen therapy (p < 0.05). Postmenopausal women diagnosed with vulvovaginal atrophy and treated with ospemifene have better quality of life than women treated with vaginal moisturizers or local estrogen therapy. Purpose: To develop and validate a tool to evaluate the NANDA International, Inc. diagnostic classification. Methods: The tool, EVALUAN‐I, was validated in a non‐probabilistic sample (N = 460) on Spanish Registered Nurses (September–December 2019) in two phases. First, design and construct the instrument in three steps: (1) literature review to define the construct focusing on the orientation toward nursing concepts and theoretical foundations, the level of scientific evidence, the structural configuration, the applicability, the nurses' clinical reasoning skills, and the attitudes toward nursing diagnosis, (2) substantiation of the questionnaire items and design according to the criteria for a diagnostic classification, (3) expert test to establish the face validity and content validity. The second phase revolved around (4) conducting a pilot test and measuring the temporal stability (test‐retest) and Cohen's kappa coefficient; assessing psychometric properties by measuring (5) reliability (internal consistency using Cronbach alpha and interfactor correlation) and (6) construct validity (exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis). The manuscript follows the STROBE checklist. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee with registration number 2019‐190‐1. Findings: EVALUAN‐I displayed moderate test‐retest stability, adequate construct validity, and excellent reliability. The confirmatory factor analysis provided evidence about the configuration of EVALUAN‐I in relation to nine analytical dimensions: clinical competence, nurses' reasoning skills, attitudes towards nursing diagnosis, discipline's central concepts, classification's contents, physiopathological attributes, level of scientific evidence, diagnostic precision, and conceptual correspondence between terminologies. Conclusions: EVALUAN‐I is a valid and reliable instrument, which can be used to improve the epistemological, normative, and intuitive configuration of NANDA International, Inc. in a structured, systematic manner. Implications for Nursing Practice: Comprehensive evaluation of NANDA International, Inc. in different clinical settings around the world using a validated instrument, like EVALUAN‐I, would allow strengths and weaknesses to be identified and contribute to the classification's development and practical application. Introduction: eating disorders (EDs) entail a therapeutic challenge. Objective: to describe ED care from the perspective of Nutrition Units (NU) in relation to human and care resources, the activities carried out, and satisfaction with care in Spain; to collect demands from professionals to improve assistance. Methods: a cross-sectional, observational study based on a questionnaire sent online to members of the Spanish Society of Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (SENPE) and to the Nutrition Area of the Spanish Society of Endocrinology and Nutrition (SEEN). The data were analyzed according to number of beds of the hospitals surveyed (< 500/= 500). Results: 23 responses from 8 autonomous communities. In 87 % of NUs care was given to eating disorders; 65.2 % had a specific process; 91.3 % collaborated with Psychiatry; 34.8 % had their own hospitalization area; 56.5 % had a day hospital, but 21.7 % participated in it; 39.1 % had a monographic consultation office; nutritional education was carried out in 87 %, especially by nursing; individualized diets and oral supplements were frequently prescribed in 39.1 % and 56.5 %, respectively; only the largest hospitals participated in research on EDs (62.5 %), and 21.7 % collaborated with patient associations. Hospitals with = 500 beds had more resources and were more satisfied. Professionals demanded resources and processes agreed with Psychiatry. Conclusions: resources and care practices are uneven in the NUs surveyed, as well as multidisciplinary collaboration. The collected evidence allows us to design improvement strategies in this area. The current study examined the interrelationships among potentially relevant family and social factors associated with family health. A cross-sectional study was conducted by collecting demographic information from 432 families, including family typology, family life cycle (FLC), and social status as well as social support and stressful life events (SLEs), with self-perception of family health being measured as a dependent variable. Descriptive analysis of the sample and univariate and multivariate linear regression analyses were performed. Multivariate analyses showed that the FLC stage of families as launching centers, lower educational level of household heads, and impact of SLEs were negatively associated with family health, whereas adequate perceived social support and the number of close friends and relatives were positively associated with family health. Therefore, these factors must be considered by family nurses to promote family health and prevent family dysfunction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have a significantly increased risk of sexual dysfunction. However, it is not properly included in commonly used questionnaires to assess health-related quality of life in RA. Qualisex is a questionnaire developed in France to assess the impact of RA on patients´ sexual function. Our aim was to adapt and validate this questionnaire for use with Spanish RA patients. Two independent translations and a backward translation were obtained. The final version was tested in a pilot study with 10 RA patients to detect any aspects that could hinder interpretation. The validity and reliability of the linguistically validated questionnaire were studied in a multicenter cross-sectional study, with a longitudinal component for reliability estimation. 125 RA patients were included. The response process, discrimination, internal consistency, internal structure, convergent validity (correlation with MGH-SFQ questionnaire, DAS-28, physician global assessment, patient global health assessment, RAID, HAQ, HADS and SF-12©) and reliability were analyzed. The inclusion of two extra items was proposed in the pilot study. The validity analysis detected responses for item 10 that were not coherent with responses for the rest of items. The Cronbach alpha coefficient was 0.971. The highest correlation (0.665) was obtained with MGH-SFQ (questionnaire measuring sexual functioning), followed by RAID (0.516). The intra-class correlation was 0.880 (95% CI 0.815; 0.923), higher than 0.85, which indicates excellent reliability. All parameters used to assess this questionnaire show highly acceptable values. Background: Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) and patient-reported experiences measures (PREMs) are crucial for understanding the impact of GD on quality of life and patient's perceptions on care, but also to guide decision-making processes. Nevertheless, no specific PREMs in GD have been published, neither PROMs for Spanish GD patients have been developed., Methods: Two project coordinators selected key-points to be included in a PROMs/PREMs questionnaire, and the scientific committee and a group of expert patients contributed to the initial draft. Then, 9 meetings with experts were held to discuss controversial points. After, a questionnaire with 103 items regarding symptomatology, aspects of daily life and care experience was developed. Finally, it was conducted a Delphi survey among a multidisciplinary group of experts in GD., Results: Consensus was reached on 85 out of the 103 items. Recommendations on PROMs and PREMs regarding symptomatology, aspects of daily life and care experience were obtained. Consensus was reached on the importance of considering fatigue, concentration problems, and communication issues in GD patients using 5-step analog scales. Panelists recommended asking GD patients about the impact on social functioning and work/school performance. Finally, consensus was reached on considering care experiences, such as treatment satisfaction, treatment interruptions or transitions and healthcare professionals involved in patient's management to perceive patient's perceptions., Conclusion: This expert consensus may help developing GD-specific PROMs/PREMs for improving GD management. Background: The differences in clinical bioethics between the Mediterranean and Latin American cultures have not been analyzed. The objective of the study is to compare the ethical conflicts that internists in Spain, Mexico and Argentina have., Methods: Cross-sectional observational study through a survey directed at internists from Spain, Argentina and Mexico. The survey was administered to affiliated members of the National Societies of Internal Medicine across three countries via an online platform., Results: 762 internists participated, 261 from Spain, 154 from Argentina and 347 from Mexico. The main ethical conflicts that internists in Spain, Argentina and Mexico have are related (in order) to the end of life, to the clinical relationship and to the patient's autonomy. Withholding and withdrawing life-sustaining treatment is the most frequent conflict in Spain and Argentina and the second in Mexico., Conclusions: Internists from Spain and Argentina identify very similar ethical conflicts. Furthermore, they consider them more frequent and difficult than in Mexico. In Argentina they are less satisfied with the way they are resolved. Background: One of the obstacles to seeking help for suicide is its social stigma. The literature suggests that suicide knowledge could impact this stigma. The present study aims to examine levels and predictors of suicide stigma and suicide literacy among Spanish-speaking individuals from Spain and Latin America., Method: A total of 678 adults completed an online survey conducted from December 2021 to May 2022. The survey assessed sociodemographic and clinical variables, including the Literacy of Suicide Scale (LOSS-SF) and Stigma of Suicide Scale (SOSS-SF)., Results: Results showed the presence of stigmatization and a moderate level of suicide literacy. Latin Americans presented significantly more stigmatizing attitudes and lower levels of suicide literacy than Spaniards. Older age and stronger religious/spiritual beliefs were correlated with lower suicide literacy. Suicide stigma was regressed on lower suicide literacy, gender (men), stronger religious/spiritual beliefs, and lacking knowledge about how to find help. Furthermore, the region was significantly associated with the suicide glorification subscale, reporting Latin Americans' greater glorification., Conclusions: By examining these factors, we aim to foster a deeper understanding of the attitudes and beliefs toward suicide. Background: A deep knowledge of the healthcare system and the organization of neurology departments is important for planning and optimizing changes to facilitate the successful implementation of anti-amyloid antibodies treatments., Objective: We aimed to assess the necessary changes prior to introducing these therapies in our setting., Methods: We conducted a key informant survey among heads of departments of neurology from 16 hospitals in Spain. The questionnaire comprised questions about changes in the organization and functioning of the departments of neurology with the introduction of anti-amyloid drugs, changes in diagnosis and patient care, use of diagnostic techniques, patients, families and public information, resources allocation, and research., Results: Sixteen key informants completed the survey. They strongly agreed that the introduction of anti-amyloid drugs will impact the functioning of neurology services, especially in hospitals with dementia units. Consensus was reached regarding referring all Alzheimer's disease patients eligible for therapy to dementia units. There was also agreement on the need to expand the neurology services, day hospital units, extend visit durations, and hire more professionals, especially neurologists, neuropsychologists, and nuclear medicine physicians. Furthermore, consensus was achieved on increasing the use of MRI, amyloid PET, cerebrospinal fluid biomarkers, APOE genotyping, and the necessity of advancing blood biomarkers and tau tracers., Conclusions: Our study highlights the need for extensive changes within Spanish neurological departments to effectively integrate anti-amyloid antibodies. Objectives: To evaluate health-related quality of life perceived by patients with the most prevalent immune-mediated inflammatory diseases in Spain: inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), psoriasis (Ps), psoriatic arthritis (AP), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and spondyloarthropathies (SpAs), and to determine the factors that influence patient quality of life., Methods: The SACVINFA study (SA = satisfaction, CV = quality of life, IN = immune-mediated, FA = pharmacy) consisted of an observational study conducted in 4 hospitals in the Community of Madrid. A cross-sectional analysis was made of adult patients diagnosed with an immune-mediated inflammatory disease who attended the Pharmacy Service. Quality of life was assessed using the EQ-5D-5L questionnaire (mobility, self-care, usual activities, pain/discomfort and anxiety/depression) and specific questionnaires: SIBDQ-9, DLQI, PsAQoL, QoL-RA and ASQoL., Results: A total of 578 patients were analyzed (inflammatory bowel disease = 25.3%; psoriasis = 19.7%; spondyloarthropathies = 18.7%; rheumatoid arthritis = 18.5%; psoriatic arthritis = 17.8%). The mean age (SD) was 49.8 (12.3) years and 50.7% were male. The average score (SD) for the global EQ-5D- 5 L was 0.771 (0.2) and the mean (SD) visual analogue scale score was 71.5 (20.0). Type of immune-mediated inflammatory diseases was associated with differences in quality of life showing psoriasis and inflammatory bowel disease higher values of EQ-5D-5L than psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and spondyloarthropathies, p < 0,05 in all comparisons. Patients with RA, IBD, and Ps achieved 70% of the maximum score, while patients with PsA and SpAs did not reach 50% of the maximum possible score. Female gender, a state of moderate/severe disease severity, an older age and a higher number of previous treatments were correlated with worse quality of life. The current study aimed to investigate the association between predicted vitamin D status and depression in a prospective Spanish cohort of university graduates. The SUN Project is a dynamic cohort study designed to investigate multiple aspects of health and lifestyle. Participants were asked to complete a comprehensive questionnaire consisting of 556 items, that included a validated food-frequency questionnaire. Participants initially free of depression were classified as incident cases if they reported a medical diagnosis of depression during follow-up. Serum vitamin D levels were predicted by a previously validated equation. Vitamin D deficiency was defined as vitamin D levels below 20 ng/mL. Cox models were used to estimate adjusted hazard ratios (HR) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CI). We included 15,175 Spanish university graduates [mean (SD) age: 36.9 year (11.5)] followed-up for a median of 12.7 years. Among 192,976 person-years of follow-up, we identified 753 incident cases of depression. Participants with vitamin D deficiency had a 27% higher risk of depression as compared to those with vitamin D sufficiency (HR: 1.27, 95% CI: 1.09-1.48; p = 0.002) after adjusting for potential confounders. Furthermore, a significant effect modification by female sex was observed with higher depression risks associated with vitamin D deficiency in women than in men (p for interaction = 0.034). Objective: To determine the preferences regarding injection, medication frequency and complexity of GLP1 receptor agonists among patients with type 2 diabetes, treatment-naïve for such drugs in Spain. Additionally, patients' willingness to pay according to these attributes was evaluated., Methods: A discrete-choice experiment survey designed to evaluate patients' preferences over three attributes discriminating by age, sex and patients experience with previous injectable treatment was fulfilled by patients. The resulting model was analyzed using a conditional (fixed-effects) logistic regression., Results: A total of 180 patients (63.35 ± 11.49 years, 63.28% men, 48.41% with previous cardiovascular disease, 54.69% with a time of evolution of diabetes >10 years) recruited from 5 health care centers in Spain completed the survey. Patients viewed positively weekly injections (vs daily injections), but rated negatively a complex preparation of the dose (vs simple preparation). Whereas naïve patients for injectable medications did not consider administration timing of importance, no naïve patients considered it relevant. No relevant differences were observed according to age or gender. Patients were willing to pay 83.25€for a "no preparation required" dose. No naïve and naïve patients were willing to pay 34.61€ and 14.35€; p  = 0.000, to change daily injection for a weekly injection., Conclusions: Patients highly valued the avoidance of injections, with weekly dosing clearly preferred over daily dosing, as well as reducing the treatment complexity. These findings may provide a better understanding of what patients prefer and value in their treatment and provide guidance for clinicians making therapeutic decisions regarding treatments of patients with type 2 diabetes.

Background: Promoting quality of life (QoL) is one of the main goals in interventions carried out with children and adolescents with cerebral palsy (CP)., Aims: The aim of this study was to analyze the determinants of QoL in children with CP, including evaluations by the children themselves and their parents, and to identify discrepancies between evaluators., Methods and Procedures: The adapted Spanish version of the Cerebral Palsy Quality of Life (CP-QOL) for children and adolescents (self-report and primary caregiver-reports versions) was applied to a sample of 74 children with CP and their respective parents (totaling 222 participants), as well as instruments to measure functioning (i.e., GMFCS, MACS, CFCS and EDACS). The average age of the children was 12.50 (SD=4.07), with a higher number of boys (55.7 %)., Outcomes and Results: The lowest QoL levels were found in the Functional dimension in both assessments (M children/adolescents =70.21, M parents =58.14). For children, the highest rated dimension was Social Well-being (M=74.54), while for parents it was School (M=71.03). The degree of agreement between evaluators was low in almost all dimensions (ICC≤.40). More satisfactory predictive models were constructed from the evaluations carried out by parents, except in the case of the Access to Services dimension, with functioning measures being the main predictors of QoL levels., Conclusions and Implications: The CP-QOL in its two available versions is a useful and specific instrument for assessing QoL in children with CP in both research and professional fields., (Copyright © 2024 The Authors. Background: The number of validated questionnaires that assess the level of breastfeeding competence of primary care professionals who attend lactating mothers is limited., Research Aim: To validate the CAPA (Competència en l'Atenció Primària sobre Alletament [Breastfeeding Competence in Primary Care]) questionnaire into Spanish in collaboration with professionals from the primary care services of the Comunidad de Madrid (Spain)., Methods: In this multicentric study, four bilingual healthcare professionals translated the CAPA questionnaire into Spanish and back-translated it into Catalan. The cross-cultural adaptation included a discussion by an expert committee, a review by a philologist, and a pilot study that involved 13 healthcare residents. We randomly selected professionals from specialties involved in breastfeeding. The re-test was conducted 3 weeks later, aiming to avoid changes in the studied population. We performed a factor analysis to identify underlying constructs and hypothesis-testing to assess the validity of the questionnaire and estimated the Cronbach Alpha and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) to assess its reliability., Results: A total of 198 professionals participated by responding to the questionnaire. Factorial analysis showed that the questionnaire was unidimensional. Hypothesis testing showed that, of all the considered professional groups, midwives achieved the highest mean score ( M  = 131.7, SD  = 10.9, p  < 0.001). Amongst the other professionals, only 26.5% achieved a basic level of breastfeeding competence. Gerontological interventions should address the various geriatric syndromes suffered by the elderly, such as neurodegenerative diseases. Therapeutic lying is an effective and humanizing strategy to deal with dementia, used by various disciplines in the social and healthcare fields. This intervention strategy is made up of all the different responses to reality that are given to a person with cognitive impairment. This study analyzes the validity of the Spanish adaptation of the Attitudes toward Lying to People with Dementia (ALPD) questionnaire, given to 253 social workers who directly and indirectly intervened with older people suffering from cognitive impairment in public and private centers in Spain during the year 2022. The results of the validity and reliability analyses support the psychometric quality of ALPD for use in Spanish social workers. The statistical results indicate a good fit of the bifactor model (person-focused and lie-focused) and show the questionnaire to be reliable, with adequate psychometric properties. Background: Internet has become an indispensable source of health-related information. However, several studies have shown there to be a lack of quality control for webpages related to disability. Specifically, available content concerning Down syndrome (DS) and dentistry is limited and of dubious quality., Objective: The aim of the present study was to assess the quality of online content in Spanish and Portuguese on dental care for individuals with DS., Methods: A simultaneous search in Google and Bing using the terms "Down syndrome" and "odontology/dentist/dental treatment" in Spanish and Portuguese was conducted in seven Ibero-American countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Mexico, and Portugal). The first 100 consecutive pages of results from the three combinations of terms in each of the search engines were accessed and selected by applying conventional exclusion criteria. The selected pages were classified according to their authorship, specificity and dissemination potential. The quality of the online content was assessed using the DISCERN questionnaire and the Questionnaire to Evaluate Health Web Sites According to European Criteria (QEEC). The presence of the Health On Net (HON) and Accredited Medical Website (AMW) seals was also assessed., Results: The mean DISCERN score was 2.51 ± 0.85 and 2.57 ± 0.86 for the Spanish and Portuguese webpages, respectively. The mean readability score was 3.43 ± 1.26 and 3.25 ± 1.08 for the Spanish and Portuguese webpages, respectively. Spain was close to meeting the 90-90-90-treatment target set by UNAIDS. However, data on health care quality regarding people with HIV and their health-related quality of life (HRQoL) after the COVID-19 pandemic onset is scarce. By considering the perspective of people with HIV and HIV specialists, we aimed to determine some aspects of the quality of care in Spain, such as access to health resources or satisfaction with primary and speciality care, and assess people with HIV health-related quality of life. Ex post facto cross-sectional surveys were administered to 502 people with HIV and 101 HIV clinicians. Unmet needs related to healthcare system and healthcare resources access and to antiretroviral treatment administered by hospital pharmacies were detected. There was also room for improvement in the primary care service delivery and in various aspects concerning people's with HIV HRQoL. About one-fourth of them experienced stigmatisation in the healthcare setting, which was significantly related to HRQoL. Women, heterosexual participants and those with problems accessing the healthcare system scored poorer in the HRQoL scales. Moreover, according to our data, HIV specialists did not seem to be fully aware of patients' with HIV needs and overestimated their HRQoL.

Background: In the management of individuals with venous leg ulcers, education serves as a pivotal tool for acquiring knowledge, fostering appropriate attitudes, and promoting best practices. Consequently, assessing knowledge, skills, attitudes, confidence, and commitment becomes essential, necessitating the development of suitable evaluation instruments. Pre- and post-test assessments align with Level 2 of Kirkpatrick's model. Moreover, nurse educators should integrate assessment into the teaching-learning sequences., Aim: To psychometrically validate an instrument designed to assess undergraduate nursing students' knowledge of the aetiology, prevention, and treatment of venous leg ulcers., Design: A multi-phase study was designed to develop the tool and subsequently validate its psychometric properties., Setting(s): The study was conducted at three sites within the University of the Basque Country and one site within the University of Alicante., Participants: A total of 516 students from all four years of the nursing degree program participated., Methods: The construct definition and instrument development were previously published. This article presents the psychometric evaluation, which involved classical item analysis, analysis of psychometric properties according to the Rasch model, differential item functioning analysis, construct validity analysis through hypothesis testing in known groups, and reliability analysis via internal consistency., Results: The results validated the Knowledge on Venous Leg Ulcer Questionnaire, reducing it from 72 initial items to 36 definitive items. It was found to be a valid and reliable instrument, capable of detecting statistically significant differences between known groups. Knowledge scores on a 0-100 scale were found to be 33.1 (SD = 19.5) for the first-second year groups, and 48.3 (SD = 17.5) for the third-fourth year groups, demonstrating a progressive and logical increase in knowledge each year., Conclusions: The Knowledge on Venous Leg Ulcer Questionnaire appears to be a valid and reliable instrument for measuring nursing students' knowledge of venous leg ulcers. Aim: This paper reports the first estimation of an SF-6D value set based on the SF-12 for Spain., Methods: A representative sample (n = 1020) of the Spanish general population valued a selection of 56 hypothetical SF-6D health states by means of a probability lottery equivalent (PLE) method. The value set was derived using both random effects and mean models estimated by ordinary least squares (OLS). The best model was chosen on the basis of its predictive ability assessed in terms of mean absolute error (MAE)., Results: The model yielding the lowest MAE (0.075) was that based on main effects using OLS. Pain was the most significant dimension in predicting health state severity. Comparison with the previous SF-6D (SF-36) model estimated for Spain revealed no significant differences, with a similar MAE (0.081). Nevertheless, the new SF-6D (SF-12) model predicted higher utilities than those generated by the SF-6D (SF-36) scoring algorithm (minimum value - 0.071 vs - 0.357)., Conclusion: A value set for the SF-6D (SF-12) based on Spanish general population preferences elicited by means of a PLE technique is successfully estimated. Introduction: Prostate cancer is the tumor with the highest incidence in Spanish men. The implementation of health literacy and therapeutic education programs adapted to the needs of the population could be a resource to minimize the sequelae derived from the treatments used to combat this pathology. To this end, it would be necessary to know the level of health literacy about prostate cancer., Objective: To determine the level of health literacy in prostate cancer in the Spanish male population using the validated version of the PCKQ-12 for the Spanish population., Methodology: Cross-sectional, population-based, descriptive study. Spanish-speaking men of legal age were included. To carry out the study, an ad hoc questionnaire was designed on the Google Forms platform, which was distributed via WhatsApp. Previously, it was necessary to validate the PCKQ-12 to the Spanish population in two phases, a first phase for translation and cross-cultural adaptation and a second phase to test the measurement properties., Results: The Spanish version of the PCKQ-12 showed good language, conceptual, semantic and content equivalence and could be used to assess health literacy in prostate cancer. Three hundred and seventy Spanish men with a mean age of 43.87 (SD 13.65) years responded to the questionnaire. Background and Objective: There is great heterogeneity in the methodology and evaluation in specialized health training (SHT) in otorhinolaryngology in our country. The figure of the resident tutor is the cornerstone on which the ESF system is based and the regulation and recognition of this figure varies. This article aims to take a snapshot of the current situation of the ESF in Spain and to describe the activity of tutors., Materials and Methods: During the month of September 2023, a survey was sent in a Google Forms® format through the Spanish Society of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. The survey consisted of 8 multiple-choice questions and 4 questions in which they were asked to rank a series of 5 weaknesses, threats, opportunities and strengths selected by the authors, in order to perform a SWOT analysis., Results: A total of 103 responses were obtained, of which 81 corresponded to accredited tutors. 63% of the tutors indicated that they did not have enough time to carry out their teaching work and 48% did not carry out a regular assessment of their residents. 64% of the tutors believe that the quality of otorhinolaryngology training in Spain is good and 61% are satisfied with their job as tutors. The main weakness was the short duration of the training programme, and the pressure of care was found to be the main threat. An experienced training system was considered the main strength and the creation of a national network of tutors was seen as an opportunity for improvement., Conclusions: The creation of a common and transversal otorhinolaryngology training pathway for all accredited centres and the creation of a network of mentors and residents are necessary to address the problems of SHT. Aim: To evaluate the opinions of the new internal resident physicians (IRP) on family and community medicine (FCM) and professional and personal issues., Methods: Anonymous survey of 837 new IRPs in the Madrid Region., Results: Mean age was 25.6±3.5 years, 525 (62.7%) had a specific subject of FCM during medical school, 799 (95.5%) did FCM practices during their medical degree, and 606 (72.4%) considered relevant to be some months in FCM during their medical residence. Only 103 (12.3%) consider becoming parents during residency, 416 (49.7%) have suffered from anxiety, 99 (11.8%) from depression, and 19 (2.3%) had previous suicidal thoughts. Although 638 (76.2%) have received training in ethical decisions, 345 (41.2%) did not know how to implement these decisions, 120 (14.3%) had studied artificial intelligence and 744 (88.9%) have a positive view of the College of Physicians. CONCLUSIóN: Most new medical residents of Madrid consider a Primary Care rotation relevant during their training, but only 63% have completed specific training in FCM as an undergraduate. The study aimed to identify precompetitive anxiety profiles and analyze the impact of those profiles in their reasons to adhere to running. A sample of 473 Spanish Amateur Athletes participated in the study. Results revealed the emergence of three profiles: (a) a high precompetitive anxiety profile characterized by high cognitive and somatic anxiety and low self-confidence; (b) a precompetitive medium-low anxiety profile characterized by medium-low scores in cognitive and somatic anxiety and medium self-confidence; (c) a precompetitive low anxiety profile characterized by low scores in cognitive and somatic anxiety and medium self-confidence. Results showed that most of the working runners, who participate in ten-kilometer races, who practice three days a week, and most experienced runners, belonged to the extremely low anxiety profile. In conclusion, the precompetitive low anxiety profile reported the most suited outcomes which mean that is a more adaptive profile.

Background: Medical education has undergone significant changes over the last decades. Scientific and technological progress alongside contemporary society's changing requirements have driven demand for highly trained, competent doctors. In response to this need, university faculties of medicine have sought innovative forms of teaching and evaluating the students on their degree courses. The aim of this study was to quantify the characteristics and extent of academic training in teaching methods, of participation in innovative teaching initiatives, and training in simulation and debriefing among the teaching personnel on the degree course in medicine at the University of Granada (Spain)., Methods: This transversal descriptive study was conducted among a population of 121 educators teaching on the medical degree course at the University of Granada, Spain. All responded to a specially designed CoRe-Content Representation questionnaire. This consisted of various parts: (a) demographic data; (b) teaching experience and qualifications; (c) specific information about training in teaching skills received. The Fisher test was applied whenever the dependent variable had two values (dichotomous) and the Chi-square test when it had more than two values (polytomic). Statistical significance was established with an alpha error of 5%., Results: The results showed that 87.60% of the educators had received no training in debriefing. There was a notable gender gap, whereby women held fewer management posts, fewer were engaged in clinical activity, and fewer had undergone training in clinical simulation. Teachers with degrees in medicine had undergone less regulated training than educators with other degree qualifications., Conclusion: The main areas of medical training that require improvement (and so present challenges to be met in the years to come) are as follows: a definitive solution to the existing gender gap, general implementation of new educational models and methods (especially learning based on clinical problem-solving and simulation), closing generation gaps, and improved training processes for educators with clinical attachment., (© 2024. Emotional Eating is eating in response to negative emotional states, such as boredom, loneliness, or anxiety. For some young people, both food and alcohol are a source of pleasure in their social life. A cross-sectional study was conducted in 2022-23 in the Health Sciences Faculty. Mediterranean Diet Adherence Test, alcohol use disorders identification test (AUDIT), Emotional Eater Questionnaire (EEQ), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Yale Food Addiction, Perceived Stress Scale, and Anxiety Questionnaire STAI, were employed. Emotional eater (EE) regarding to no emotional eater (NEE) presented a mild food addiction, a significantly high intake of carbohydrates, fat, and alcohol. Energy intake is dependent on saturated fat, also they are not conscious of their intake of calories, had worse sleep quality, high perceived stress, and worse healthy eating index (HEI) due to their intake of sweets and soft drinks. The diet quality could be affected by the stress of the pandemic. The association of emotional eating with the intake of sweet foods and alcoholic drinks maybe is a remaining situation of COVID-19. We suppose that maladaptive eating behaviors have improved over time during this pandemic. The KATITA-25 (Kidney AlloTransplant Immunosuppressive Therapy Adherence) Questionnaire is a multidimensional self-administered scale developed in Brazilian Portuguese that measures the predisposition for non-adherence to immunosuppressive medication in candidate patients for kidney transplantation, in the pre-transplant setting. The aim of this study was the cross-cultural validation of the Spanish version of the KATITA-25 scale. The translation/back-translation method was used, followed by cognitive interviews and a pre-test. The Spanish version of KATITA-25 was administered to 163 candidate patients for kidney transplantation from 2 kidney transplant centres and 2 dialysis centres in Catalonia, Spain. The scale was re-administered to the first 79 patients included into the study, after a 2 to 4 weeks interval. Internal consistency was assessed using Cronbach's alpha, test-retest reliability with the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC); construct validity with goodness of fit indices after confirmatory factor analysis using structural equation modelling. The Cronbach's alpha of the Spanish version was 0.83, the ICC was 0.86. Confirmatory factor analysis showed adequate fit of the structural model. Overall, the analytical results closely resembled those obtained in the validation of the original scale. Objective: To review and validate a questionnaire on knowledge of injectable insulin management (JH-SEFAC) by patients with diabetes for use in community pharmacies., Methods: Study design: cross-sectional observational in Spanish community pharmacies during the first half of 2023. Inclusion criteria: patients with diabetes, of legal age, on insulin treatment. Questionnaire design: a nominal group of community pharmacists reviewed and piloted the initial questionnaire to determine its feasibility. It was approved by the CEIC of Aragón (PI22/375). Content validation: by a multidisciplinary group of experts in diabetes, using an ad hoc evaluation questionnaire of 10 questions (Likert scale of 1-5). Reliability: by means of the internal consistency index (Cronbach's alpha) and the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). Reproducibility (test/retest): the results of the questionnaire administered twice 2-3 weeks apart to the group of patients were compared. Pharmacists members of the SEFAC Diabetes Working Group collaborated. Sample: calculated in 127 subjects (95% CI and precision of 10%)., Results: 20 community pharmacies from 13 autonomous communities included 131 patients. The expert assessment was 4.52 out of 5 (90.4%). The Keiser-Meyer-Olkin test was 0.626 and Bartlett's test was significant (p<0.001). The Cronbach's alpha of the global questionnaire was 0.804 and the ICC was 0.902. Citizens play a crucial role in attaining the United Nations 2030 sustainable development goals (SDGs). There is growing awareness of the importance of understanding citizen perspectives on environmental issues, in relation to developing and maintaining sustainable lifestyles, and in addressing perceived threats to protection and restoration of ecosystems and biodiversity. This analysis sought to understand people's attitudes towards environmental conservation, how they relate to perceived threats to the countryside, and to determine how attitudes and perceived threats vary demographically and between countries. A survey was administered to citizens (quota sampled on age, gender, education, and split between rural and urban residency) across five countries representative of differing biogeographical regions (N = 3,190): Czech Republic (n = 649) (Continental); Spain (Mediterranean) (n = 623); Sweden (Boreal) (n = 645); Switzerland (Alpine) (n = 641); United Kingdom (UK) (Atlantic) (n = 632). Attitudes were measured using the Environmental Attitudes Inventory (EAI-24) on 2 factors (utilization; preservation) and perceived threat to the countryside on 1-factor (15 items). Multigroup regression analysis indicated that preservationist attitudes were associated with greater perceived threat to the countryside in all five countries. Higher perceived threat was associated with activities linked to environmental degradation, socio-economic uncertainty and risks in agri-food supply chains in all countries. The "bad behaviour of visitors" was the greatest perceived threat in the Czech Republic, Switzerland and the UK, while "lack of young farmers taking over farming" was the greatest perceived threat in Spain and Sweden. To promote pro-environmental attitudes and obtain greater public support for policies and interventions targeting environmental conservation, communication about environmental threats is needed, together with threat mitigation measures. Background: Becoming a mother is a very important process because of the impact it can have on women and their families. Currently, there is no validated questionnaire that evaluates the process of becoming a mother in the Spanish population. Moreover, no consistent results have been obtained to identify significant differences between primiparous and multiparous mothers., Aim: (1) Linguistic and metric validation of the Being a Mother scale (BaM-13) in the Spanish population, (2) analysis of possible differences between primiparous and multiparous mothers' experience of motherhood., Methods: Instrumental design. In 2016-2017, a sample of 579 mothers with children between 6 and 11 months of age completed the Spanish version of BaM-13. The instrument was translated using forward and back translation. Construct validity, internal consistency, and criterion validity were empirically analyzed., Results: Factorial analyses showed that the scale presented two adequate factors. Internal consistency of the global scale ( α  = 0.818, ω  = 0.861), the Postnatal bonding factor ( α  = 0.773, ω  = 0.784), and the Adult's experience factor ( α  = 0.710, ω  = 0.721) was adequate. Significant associations were found with postpartum depression ( r  = 0.560), parental competence ( r  =  - 0.584) and postnatal bonding ( r  =  - 0.327). In terms of parity, primiparous mothers have greater difficulty in postnatal bonding, compared to multiparous mothers ( p  = 0.006)., Conclusions: The Spanish version of the BaM-13 scale is valid for measuring mothers' experience of motherhood in a wide range of domains. The findings of the study show the importance of considering parity in the experience of becoming a mother, highlighting the approach to postnatal bonding in primiparous mothers. Goals: To describe the exposure to psychosocial risks at work and the consumption of psychotropic drugs and opioids among women working as cleaners; and to analyse the association between their exposure to psychosocial risks and drug use., Methods: Observational cross-sectional study based on an online survey (collected during April and May 2021) from the wage-earning population in Spain. In this study, only women working in manual occupations were included (n=3430). Working conditions and drug consumption of cleaning workers were compared with those of other manual workers through bivariate analysis. The adjusted prevalence ratios and the corresponding 95% CIs were estimated using Poisson regression models with robust variance., Results: Cleaning workers were older and had more problems making ends meet than other manual workers and were significantly more exposed to low possibilities for development (85.2 (95% CI 81.8 to 88.0)), high strain (51.9 (95% CI 47.3 to 55.9)) and low social support from colleagues (72.0 (95% CI 68.1 to 75.7)) and supervisors (61.7 (95% CI 57.3 to 65.6)). They also scored higher prevalence rates for the use of tranquillisers (37.7 (95% CI 32.0 to 43.3)) and opioids (33.3 (95% CI 27.9 to 38.6)) consumption indicators. This consumption was associated significantly with high strain exposure and high insecurity over working conditions., Discussion: Under the umbrella of the 2012 labour reform, cleaning companies shift the pressure and burden they have on ordinary cleaning staff in the form of low wages and precarious working conditions. A brief version of the Alcohol Consumption Consequences Evaluation Scale (ACCE) [38] was developed to promptly detect possible risks related to alcohol consumption, such as Binge Drinking (BD), in university students. Using the "snowball" method, a sample of 595 students aged 18 to 20 (65.4% women) from the University of Valencia (Spain) was obtained during the 2019-2020 academic year. Items with the highest values of the discrimination parameter in the original version (ACCE) were selected and the Rasch model was applied. To verify the usefulness of this version, ROC analyses were conducted separately for men and women using the Audit score as the criterion. In the overall sample, the analysis had an area of 0.812 (SE = 0.018). In men, the area was 0.796 (SE = 0.032) and for women, it was 0.823 (SE = 0.021). In addition, a logistic regression analysis was performed, using a cut-off point of 3 based on the ROC analysis, to assess the utility of this version in classifying BD and non-BD. The odds ratio was 3.812 (p = 0.000), correctly classifying 89.2% of the young people and indicating that the probability of engaging in BD is 3.8 times higher for individuals obtaining more than 3 points on this scale. This result confirms the usefulness of this brief version (ACCE10) as a screening tool for early intervention, especially in clinical or university settings, since it allows young people to be situated within a range of severity according to their consumption patterns. Aim: To validate the Nurses' Global Assessment of Suicide Risk (NGASR) in Spanish for an early detection identification of the risk of suicide., Design: A descriptive cross-sectional survey design was used for this work through face-to-face clinical interviews with each participant., Method: Following EQUATOR TRIPOD checklist, the index was translated and administered to a sample of 30 mental health experts and 151 university students. To examine the psychometric properties of the NGASR, the questionnaires also included other standardised scales such as BDI, SBQ and SEEQ. The research was conducted between 2022 and 2023., Results: The content validity index-scale (CVI-S) was 81% and the NGASR presented high reliability with a Kuder-Richardson coefficient of 0.83. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) returned a six-factor structure for the NGASR items. The results showed that 21.7% of the students assessed had an intermediate to very high suicide risk. This study also revealed that people with mental health problems and depression had a higher risk of suicide., Public Contribution: Beyond the sociolinguistic Spanish validation of the scale, it should be noted that it is carried out on a young population in a nonclinical environment, something that many authors have been requesting in their previous validations. Increases in migration pressure from sub-Saharan Africa to Europe have increased in recent years. Despite this trend, the health literacy needs of migrants in host communities have not been sufficiently studied. This research aims to explore the health literacy of migrants newly arriving in Europe and compare it with the health literacy levels of the European population, utilizing data obtained from the European health literacy survey. A convenience sampling cross-sectional study was conducted at the Temporary Immigrant Stay Center in Melilla (Spain) in June 2022 using a validated French and Arabic version of the 16-item European health literacy survey questionnaire. A total of 106 sub-Saharan migrants ≥ 18 years of age were surveyed. The general health literacy index of the migrants was 30.02 points (on a scale of 50), placing it in the 'problematic' level. Of the participants, 57.54% had a limited ability to obtain, understand and apply health information and make appropriate health-related decisions. The largest gap compared to European citizens was observed in skills to understand information related to disease prevention. These results reinforce that migrant status is a social determinant of low health literacy and suggest that health professionals should extend their educational role to this vulnerable group., (© The Author(s) 2024. Achieving viral suppression alone does not fully resolve the multifaceted health challenges faced by people with HIV (PWH), such as early aging, multimorbidity, and low health-related quality of life. This co-creation pilot study to investigate patient-centered metrics for long-term well-being involved the development of a knowledge, attitudes, and practices survey through focus groups and its implementation among HIV care providers in Barcelona, Spain, in 2024. A collaborative approach of involving PWH from the community was essential in ensuring the relevance of the identified issues. The results underscored the importance of monitoring comorbidities such as mental health issues, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological disorders, alongside the use of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) and patient-reported experience measures (PREMs). The findings highlighted several barriers to implementing PROMs, including time constraints, patient health literacy, and technical issues. Overall, the study emphasizes the need for health systems in Barcelona, Spain, to integrate PROMs and PREMs into routine HIV care to enhance patient-centered care and address the comprehensive well-being of PWH.

Background: The aim of this study was to determine the psychometric properties of the Spanish-language version of the HIV-Symptom Index (HIV-SI) questionnaire in Spanish patients undergoing antiretroviral therapy., Methods: Between 2014 and 2016, an observational, multicenter, prospective cohort study was conducted in seventeen Spanish hospitals to validate HIV-SI questionnaire in terms of: construct validity (confirmatory factor analysis), internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha), convergent validity (Pearson's correlation coefficient) and Known-group validity. In addition, a sensitivity to change analysis was also performed., Results: A total of 232 patients were included in the study. They had a mean age of 46.17 (SD9.82) and were 75% male. The median overall score for the HIV-SI was 10 (IQR 4- 19.5) and the most common symptoms reported were feelings of nervousness or anxiety, fatigue or energy loss, feeling sad or depressed, stomach pain or bloating, and difficulty sleeping. In the current study, the Spanish HIV-SI questionnaire showed a high internal consistency (α = 0.89) and adequate construct validity (CFI and TLI > 0.90). When contrasted with the MOS-HIV questionnaire, an inverse correlation was found. It showed a good association with the mental (r=-0.61; P < 0.0001) and physical score (r=-0.60; P < 0.0001). In a multivariate analysis, the age of the patient, female condition, hepatitis C coinfection, concomitant treatment and non-adherence resulted in a higher HIV-SI score., Conclusions: Our study has shown that the Spanish HIV-SI is a valid and reliable self-administered PROM for routine measurement of patient- reported symptoms among Spanish patients on antiretroviral treatment., (© 2024. Aim: The aim of this study was to explore the perceptions and satisfaction of last-year nursing students with the Self-Learning Methodology in Simulated Environments (MAES©)., Background: As a learning method, clinical simulation uses elements that replicate real clinical practice scenarios and facilitates the acquisition of competencies and learning objectives. Simulations promote critical thinking, knowledge, techniques and teamwork in nursing students. The Self-Learning Methodology in Simulated Environments (MAES©) is a method that integrates problem-based learning with realistic clinical simulation., Design: A cross-sectional mixed-method study implemented a simulation learning method as part of the mandatory nursing training practice; that was registered in Open Science Framework (Registration DOI: https://doi.org/10.17605/OSF.IO/R89PZ)., Methods: Students were invited to complete a cross-sectional questionnaire about satisfaction with the simulation and were asked to participate in an interview about their perceptions on the simulation. All data were collected in December 2023 in a mid-sized southern Spanish university. A total of 69 last-year nursing students were enrolled in the simulation course and were selected using eligibility criteria., Results: Satisfaction measures showed no significant differences across gender, university access, or age (p>0.05 each). However, strong correlations were found between students' preference for the simulation method and perceived effort value (p<0.001 each). Qualitative analysis identified key themes in different stages of simulation (prebriefing, scenario, briefing, debriefing), simulation benefits (learning, usefulness, positive emotions) and challenges (difficulty, realism, time constraints). Despite some realism concerns, overall, students viewed the methodology positively., Conclusions: The findings of this study underscore the vital role of simulation-based learning in nursing education. This study aims to find out how adolescents' consumption of toxic substances such as tobacco and alcohol is influenced by the Positive Mental Health. A quantitative methodology with a cross-sectional design has been used to achieve the final conclusions. The intervention was carried out by applying the Positive Mental Health Questionnaire developed by Teresa Lluch to a group of adolescents from Don Juan Manuel High School in Guadalajara (Spain). Our results shows that the Positive Mental Health of adolescents have a great impact on the tobacco and alcohol consumption. Background and Objective: Reducing patient decision delay - the time elapsed between symptom onset and the moment the patient decides to seek medical attention - can help improve acute coronary syndrome survival. Patient decision delay is typically investigated in retrospective studies of acute coronary syndrome survivors that are prone to several biases. To offer an alternative approach, the goal of this research was to investigate anticipated patient decision delay in the general population in response to different symptom clusters., Methods: We developed scenarios representing four commonly experienced symptom clusters: classic (chest symptoms only), heavy (a large number of very intense symptoms including chest pain), diffuse (mild symptoms including chest pain), and weary (mild symptoms without clear chest involvement). The scenarios were administered in random order in a representative survey of 1002 adults ≥55 years old from the non-institutionalized general population in Spain. We measured help-seeking intentions, anticipated patient decision delay (waiting >30 min to seek help), and symptom attribution., Results: Patient decision delay was most common in the diffuse scenario (55%), followed by the weary (34%), classic (22%), and heavy (11%) scenarios. Attributing the symptoms to a cardiovascular cause and intentions to call emergency services were least frequent in the weary and diffuse scenarios. Women were less likely to intend to seek help than men in the classic (OR = 0.48, [0.27, 0.85], diffuse (OR = 0.67, [0.48, 0.92]), and weary (OR = 0.66, [0.44, 0.98]) scenarios, despite being more likely to attribute symptoms to cardiovascular causes. Participants with traditional cardiovascular risk factors (e.g., diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, hypertension) reported faster help-seeking, whereas participants with obesity and history of depression were more likely to delay., Discussion: The diverse manifestations of acute coronary syndrome generate fundamentally different appraisals. Anticipated patient decision delay varies as a function of socio-demographic characteristics and medical history, supporting findings from studies with patients who experienced ACS. Aim: To design and validate a tool to assess a woman's perception of whether she has experienced a situation of abuse or disrespect during childbirth attendance: "Childbirth Abuse and Respect Evaluation-Maternal Questionnaire" (CARE-MQ)., Methods: Multidisciplinary panel of experts (gynecologists, midwives, mothers) participated in creating CARE-MQ. A cross-sectional study was carried out on 901 Spanish women who had given birth between 1 and 3 months before to determine psychometric characteristics. Finally, an exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and a convergent validity study were carried out with the Quality Questionnaire from the Patient's Perspective-Intrapartum (QPP-I), and a reliability study using internal consistency (Cronbach's α) and coefficient of intraclass correlation (CCI)., Findings: The KMO test gave a value of 0.935, and Bartlett's sphericity test was <0.001. The EFA identified four components ("Emotional Abuse", "Inadequate Professionalism", "Physical Abuse" y "Lost contact") that explained 55.16 % of variance. In the CFA, a good fit was observed for most of the evaluated indicators. CARE-MQ correlated negatively with QPP-I (Spearman's rho = -0.641, 95 % CI: -0.679, -0.600; p < 0.001) and was statistically associated with variables related to childbirth experience (p < 0.005) such as the use of a birth plan, use of regional analgesia, type of birth, episiotomy, presence of severe tears, skin-to-skin contact, length of hospital stay and postpartum surgical intervention. Cronbach's α value was 0.903. Background: The quality of life and social support during pregnancy are two variables influencing the health of pregnants and neonates. The documented impact of these variables on mental health, specifically the risk of depression, is notable., Aim: To investigate the evolution of quality of life and social support at the beginning and end of pregnancy in pregnant women, and to examine the relationship between these variables., Methods: The proposed longitudinal study includes 188 pregnants from a northern region of Spain. Participants were selected through consecutive sampling from September 2021 to April 2023. Quality of life and social support will be assessed in the first and third trimesters of pregnancy using the SF-36 questionnaire and MOS-SSS questionnaire, respectively., Findings: The questionnaires show strong internal consistency (α = 0.91 and 0.97). Quality of life changes during pregnancy, declining in the physical component and rising in the mental component towards the end. Primiparous women have higher quality of life. Depression risk is 29.8 % in the 1st trimester, dropping to 22.9 % in the 3rd trimester. Social support decreases in the 3rd trimester, particularly among unmarried women. Significant positive correlations exist between quality of life and social support., Conclusion: This study emphasizes notable variations in quality of life and social support during pregnancy, impacting the health of pregnant individuals and neonates.
