In the last few decades, the study of terminology has undergone a cognitive shift that has led to the development of several approaches that study the social, linguistic, and cognitive dimension of terms, such as Communicative Theory of Terminology (CTT) and Frame-Based Terminology (FBT). CTT was developed in the early 1990s and argues that the study of terminology should be based on a communicative perspective, taking into account aspects such as the communicators and the context of communication. FBT has been developed from 2007 and uses certain aspects of Frame Semantics to conceptualise specialised domains and create non-language-specific representations through the analysis of the domain event and on the study of the behaviour of the terminological units in texts. The two theories share many of the same premises and propose the representation of the concepts of a domain in an ontology. FBT also proposes a representation in frames. We explore how these two methods of domain representation can be used to represent the terminology of the domain of seafood in Germany and Spain. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article provides a critical review of the theoretical and methodological aroaches that have prevailed in the Spanish literature on framing. It points out that most studies take news frames as independent variable, but they do not account for the process by which news frames are intentionally built and promoted by stakeholders. We contend that this media bias is the result of a conception of frames as the outcome of journalistic routines, which implies overlooking the social interactions and ideological implications involved in the production and negotiation of frames. Partner violence against women in Spain is now no longer regarded as an individual issue but a public problem. This article discusses the role of the media in this process. It analyses the news programmes broadcast by different television stations in Catalonia and shows that the news focuses on partner violence against women as a public problem. It argues that the frame of the news is not only a media issue, it is also connected to the social and political context. The feminist movement has played an essential role in the struggle against partner violence against women, but it is argued here that society’s intense rejection of this sort of violence and the magnitude of the public policies that have been implemented in Spain could not be explained without the particular involvement of the media. The mass media have a strong impact on International Relations. Foreign Correspondents are the key pieces of international information. This paper presents the model of peace journalism as a tool to analyze the frames that journalists give in covering a conflict. The case of study is the coverage made by correspondents in the Spanish press to the Israeli- Palestinian conflict in 2007 -2008. This paper analyses the arguments put forward by Mariano Rajoy, the leader of the Partido Popular (currently Spain's major opposition party and the principal representative of the country's right wing), in response to questions about the atmosphere of tension posed by a group of citizens during Tengo una pregunta para usted (2007), a television programme in which 100 representatives from a cross section of society quiz leading politicians on a wide range of issues. The theoretical-methodological approach is based on concepts taken from discourse analysis and a cognitive perspective, as well as from rhetoric, argumentation theory and pragmadialectics. This interdisciplinary approach enables us to better address the complexity of the various levels of discursive significance and their interrelation with ideological meaning in discourse whose persuasive intentionality targets agreement between the speaker and recipients. The analysis and interpretation of the data reveals Rajoy's general lack of attention to the citizen's point of view and his tendency to break the frameworks they activate, repeatedly replacing them with his own. This indicates his interest in presenting his political programme before the television audience, rather than offering each citizen a coherent (and well-structured within a critical argument) response. In establishing his ideological position, he frequently resorts to the use of supposedly objective data (extrinsic proof), as well as the use of argumentative places, and especially the overuse of the place of essence (which for Rajoy has an overriding argumentative value). From a pragmatic perspective, he breaks the expectations generated by the speech acts used by the citizens in their questions, thereby failing to answer what he has been asked. In addition, he fails to comply with several rules by misinterpreting the citizen's intention and digressing inappropriately. The terrorist attacks during March in Madrid explain again the decisive influence of radio, because of informative agility, but especially for the doubts on the responsibility of the attack raised by 'Cadena SER'. In spite of it, investigations that study the news on radio during the terrorist attacks have not been made. Therefore, it becomes necessary to determine the frame showed by radio in the event interpretation, analyzing the dominant types of frames in news of 'Cadena SER', from the 11 to the 14 of March-2004. The article presents information regarding development and validation of a computer program employed for designing and calculating rollover protective structure (ROPS). A computer program known as ESTREMA, which is the Spanish acronym for safety structure for mechanical agricultural tractor equipment, has been designed to overcome homologation test for tractors. ROPS was tested at the Spanish Authorized Station and passed the homologation test which falls under OECD Code 4. The computer program proved effective in providing adequate protection to the operator while overturning.
