In application of the principle of subsidiarity, the Code has opened the doors to development of the particular law of the Church which, in Spain, has been varied and abundant. The author presents in the first place areas subject to particular legislation, distinguishing those which are attributed to the Episcopal Conferences, those proper to the diocesan bishops and those shared. Then, the author dwells on the concrete study of particular law in Spain: first, in the norms of the Episcopal Conference since the enforcement of the Code; next in a selection of the more recent legislation, given its scope, of the dioceses of Spain and then in the groupings of particular Churches. The work ends with a final reflection, accompanied by proposals for the future, such as the creation of a database of particular legislation in force within the Spanish Episcopal Conference, at the disposition of the diocese.
