The diversity and abundance of cyclopoid copepods were investigated at four stations along the hydrothermal vent at Kueishantao Island, north-eastern Taiwan. Zooplankton samples were collected by surface tows. Qualitatively, 21 species of cyclopoids belonging to five genera and three families were observed. Our analysis revealed a number of abnormal protrusions (TLAs) on cyclopoid copepods, which were more frequent on the dorsal body surface and in members of the family Corycaeidae. The number of TLAs was highest at the hydrothermal vent plume (HVP) zone and among adult copepods. The potentially high levels of toxic minerals erupting from the hydrothermal vents as well as low pH and high temperatures may weaken the copepods' exoskeletons, thereby increasing susceptibility to infections, indicated by the HVP-related increase of tumoural processes. It is suggested that some of these abnormalities are related to the occurrence of symbiotic tantulocarids, a topic yet to be studied in this interesting environment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Swarming behaviour of copepods was studied at a coral reef in Lungdong Bay, northeastern Taiwan. Copepod distribution was documented by underwater photography and samples were obtained by SCUBA diving, deploying plankton nets, and suction devices. Copepod assemblages found at Lungdong Bay comprised four copepod orders (Calanoida, Cyclopoida, Harpacticoida and Poecilostomatoida). A new representative ofDioithonasp swarmed predominantly in summer (April to September 2008). The average density of the swarms was positively affected by temperature. Both the position and the average density were negatively affected by typhoons. Abundances were highest at the reef bottom, followed by the sea bottom outside the reef, in March and April 2008. In May, the highest densities were found at the water surface outside the reef. Adult females dominated the stage composition only at the reef surface during April, whereas early copepodids were most abundant at all other sampling dates and sites. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: To assess cancer risks in a population that received prolonged low dose-rate γ-irradiation for about 10 years as a result of occupying buildings containing 60Co-contaminated steel in Taiwan.Materials and methods: The cancer risks were compared with those populations with the same temporal and geographic characteristics in Taiwan by standardized incidence ratios (SIR), adjusted for age and gender. The association of cancer risks with excess cumulative exposure was further evaluated for their relative risks by the Poisson multiple regression analysis.Result: A total of 7271 people were registered as the exposed population, with 101,560 person-years at risk. The average excess cumulative exposure was approximately 47.8 mSv (range < 1 – 2,363 mSv). A total of 141 exposed subjects with various cancers were observed, while 95 developed leukemia or solid cancers after more than 2 or 10 years initial residence in contaminated buildings respectively. The SIR were significantly higher for all leukemia except chronic lymphocytic leukemia (n = 6, SIR = 3.6, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.2 – 7.4) in men, and marginally significant for thyroid cancers (n = 6, SIR = 2.6, 95% CI 1.0 – 5.7) in women. On the other hand, all cancers combined, all solid cancers combined were shown to exhibit significant exposure-dependent increased risks in individuals with the initial exposure before the age of 30, but not beyond this age.Conclusions: The results suggest that prolonged low dose-rate radiation exposure appeared to increase risks of developing certain cancers in specific subgroups of this population in Taiwan. This study compared the clinical efficacy, safety, and tolerability of daily subcutaneous injections of teriparatide and salmon calcitonin in the treatment of postmenopausal women with established osteoporosis in Taiwan. This 6-month, multicenter, randomized, controlled study enrolled 63 women with established osteoporosis. They were randomized to receive either teriparatide 20 µg or calcitonin 100 IU daily in an open-label fashion. Lumber spine, femoral neck, total hip bone mineral density (BMD), and biochemical markers of bone turnover were measured, and adverse events and tolerability were recorded. The results at 6 months showed that patients using teriparatide had larger mean increases in spinal BMD than those who used calcitonin (4.5% vs. 0.1%), but the BMD changes in these two groups at the femoral neck and the total hip were not significant. There were also larger mean increases in bone markers in the teriparatide group than in the calcitonin group (bone specific alkaline phosphatase 142% vs. 37%; osteocalcin 154% vs. 23%). We conclude that teriparatide has more positive effects on bone formation than salmon calcitonin, as shown by the larger increments of lumbar spine BMD and bone formation markers, and caused only mild adverse events and no significant change in liver, kidney or hematological parameters. The western North Pacific north of Taiwan is an area with high oceanographic complexity, both biological and physicochemical. The northward flowing Kuroshio Current passes here and turns northeastward at the break of the East China Sea continental shelf, inducing an upwelling. We used a NorPac plankton net with opening-closing mechanism to take plankton samples at six depth levels (0, 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 m) in four time series (00:00, 08:00, 15:00, and 21:00 local time) within 24 hours. Planktonic copepods were identified to species level when possible; depth and time of collecting, and abundance in individuals/m3 were recorded. Different patterns of diel vertical migration (DVM) were established for the dominant species, such as normal DVM in Paracalanus aculeatus, Clausocalanus furcatus, Temora discaudata, and Canthocalanus pauper, reverse DVM in Oithona atlantica, no apparent DVM in Oncaea venusta and Subeucalanus mucronatus, and bimodal vertical distribution in Clausocalanus mastigophorus and Cosmocalanus darwini. Four sampling groups and four copepod species assemblages were defined by using cluster analysis. Each of these sampling groups and species assemblages is characterized by a different DVM pattern. The copepod assemblage in the coastal waters of southwestern Taiwan was studied in January, June, and October 1997. Sixty-six species of copepods were found in samples collected in the upper 5 m of the water column. Abundant species included Acrocalanus gracilis , Canthocalanus pauper , Clausocalanus arcuicornis , Clausocalanus furcatus , Euchaeta rimana , Oncaea media , Paracalanus nanus , Temora turbinata , and Undinula vulgaris. Small copepods (<1 mm) made up the greatest proportion of the copepod community in terms of numerical abundance. Small- and medium-sized (1-2 mm) copepods contributed almost equally to the total copepod dry weight biomass. Large copepods (>2 mm) made up <5% of the copepod community in terms of numerical abundance and <20% in terms of dry weight biomass. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Weather conditions and social contact patterns provide some clues to understanding year-round influenza epidemics in the tropics. Recent studies suggest that contact patterns may direct influenza transmission in the tropics as critically as the aerosol channel in temperate regions. To examine this argument, we analysed a representative nationwide survey dataset of contact diaries with comprehensive weather data in Taiwan. Methods we used included model-free estimated relative changes in reproduction number, R 0; relative changes in the number of contacts; and model-based estimated relative changes in mean contacts using zero-inflated negative binomial regression models. Overall, social contact patterns clearly differ by demographics (such as age groups), personal idiosyncrasies (such as personality and happiness), and social institutions (such as the division of weekdays and weekend days). Further, weather conditions also turn out to be closely linked to contact patterns under various circumstances. Fleeting contacts, for example, tend to diminish when it rains hard on weekdays, while physical contacts also decrease during weekend days with heavy rain. Frequent social contacts on weekdays and under good weather conditions, including high temperature and low absolute humidity, all might facilitate the transmission of infectious diseases in tropical regions.

The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy and safety of strontium ranelate in the treatment of postmenopausal women with osteoporosis in Taiwan. In this 12-month multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, 125 women with osteoporosis were randomly given either strontium ranelate 2 g daily or placebo. Lumbar spine, femoral neck, and total-hip bone mineral density (BMD) and biochemical markers of bone turnover were measured; adverse events and tolerability were recorded and assessed. Subjects treated with strontium ranelate showed significant increases in BMD of 5.9% at the lumbar spine, 2.6% at the femoral neck, and 2.7% at the total hip, while the placebo group exhibited no significant change at 12 months. Serum level of a formation marker (bone-specific alkaline phosphatase) was also significantly increased at 6 and 12 months. Thus, although the sample size and the treatment duration of this study could not show its effect of reducing osteoprotic fractures, strontium ranelate showed bone protection effects by increasing BMD and concentrations of a bone formation marker. Safety assessment revealed adverse events were mild and not significantly different from placebo.

Background: Limited data are available on the life expectancy of patients with newly-diagnosed HIV infection in the era of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART)., Aim: To provide such an estimate using a semi-parametric projection., Design: Statistical analysis., Methods: Follow-up data for patients newly diagnosed with HIV infection in Taiwan (HIV/AIDS Cohort) from 1 May 1997 to 30 April 2003 (n = 3351, only 1% are injecting drug users) were analysed using the Kaplan-Meier method. The survival function for an age- and gender-matched reference population was generated by the Monte Carlo method from the life-table of the general population. A constant excess hazard model was used to project long-term survival of HIV-infected patients, with linear extrapolation of a logit-transformed curve of survival ratio between HIV-infected patients and the reference population., Results: The 5-year survival rate was 58% in patients who had already developed AIDS at diagnosis (AIDS group), and 89% in those who had not (non-AIDS group). Extrapolation yielded an expected mean survival time of 10.6 years after diagnosis for the AIDS group, and 21.5 years after diagnosis for the non-AIDS group., Discussion: Our results support the expansion of HIV screening programs to minimize delay in diagnosis. With continuing advances in HAART, this estimate of survival in initially asymptomatic patients may be conservative. Their long life expectancy raises questions about what kind of preventive heath services should be offered. These should be addressed through further analysis of overall benefit and cost-effectiveness.

The thalassemias are a heterogeneous group of inherited hypochromic anemias of varying severity. The mainstay of supportive treatment is regular blood transfusion accompanied by iron-chelating therapy. Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) provides an alternative option when curative therapy is considered. More than 400 patients in Taiwan have beta-thalassemia major or other transfusion-dependent thalassemias, and their treatment costs account for a considerable percentage of the National Health Insurance expenditure. In this report, we estimated the treatment costs of conventional therapy (regular blood transfusion accompanied by iron-chelating agents) and HSCT. The undiscounted medical cost of 20 years of follow-up (20 years from diagnosis) and the undiscounted total lifetime cost were NT$ 4 739 888 (NT$ means New Taiwan Dollars)/US$ 149 288 and NT$ 11 529 990/US$ 363 149, respectively, for patients undergoing conventional therapy, and NT$ 2 639 982/US$ 83 149 and NT$ 3 511 172/US$ 110 588, respectively, for those undergoing successful HSCT. Comparisons of treatment costs and other parameters between these two modalities can add to the information base on which policy is made by health authorities or clinicians.

Chen, W-L., Hwang, J-S., Hu, T-H., Chen, M-S. and Chang, W. P. Lenticular Opacities in Populations Exposed to Chronic Low-Dose-Rate Gamma Radiation from Radiocontaminated Buildings in Taiwan. Radiat. Res. 156, 71-77 (2001). Epidemiological and experimental studies have revealed the cataractogenic potential of large acute doses of radiation. However, studies on the dose-response effect and the incidence of lenticular changes after exposure to chronic low doses of radiation have seldom been conducted. To evaluate quantitatively the lenticular changes in a population exposed to chronic low-dose-rate gamma radiation in their daily living or school environment in steel buildings contaminated with (60)Co in Taiwan, a total of 114 exposed individuals participated in a thorough ophthalmological examination in 1998. The lenticular opacities were evaluated by slit-lamp biomicroscopy after full pupil dilatation and were scored by the Lens Opacities Classification System III (LOCS III) and a modified subclinical minor lenticular focal defects system. These individuals were further divided into those less than 20 years old, those between 20 and 40 years old, and those more than 40 years old to evaluate the effects of age. The cumulative doses were assessed for each individual using the Taiwan Cumulative Dose (TCD) estimation system. A significant dose-dependent increase in the numbers of focal lens defects in those less than 20 years old was demonstrated, while less significant changes were observed in the other two age groups or by the LOCS III scoring. Results suggested that chronic low-dose-rate irradiation might induce minor lenticular changes, especially in lenses of young subjects. The delayed clinical changes in these young exposed subjects warrants further long-term follow-up.

Forty-eight individuals, who received protracted low-dose rate gamma-irradiation from radioactive environments for 2-10 years, have been evaluated repetitively for cytogenetic damage by the cytochalasin-B micronuclei assay (CBMN) after they relocated from radioactive buildings. These subjects were shown to have a significant decrease in the CBMN frequencies during 26.2+/-8.4 months of follow-up. By the mixed effect multiple linear regression analysis, the CBMN frequencies in these 48 subjects during repetitive measurements were significantly associated with the relocation duration since leaving the radioactive environments (relocation time or RT in months; estimate -0.47, standard error 0. 0016, p value 0.0074). The alteration rate in the proportions of binucleates carrying a single micronucleus and those with multiple micronuclei was further compared among 26 of these exposed individuals. The proportions of binucleates with multi-micronuclei were shown to decline significantly faster than those with a mono-micronucleus between these two repetitive assays (proportional Z-test, p value 0.003). Moreover, some of the exposed subjects were shown to have a persistent increase in the total micronuclei frequencies or carrying multi-micronuclei in the binuclei even 3-4 years post-cessation of exposure. This suggests potential genomic instability in stem cells of the exposed individuals and the phenomenon deserves further closer monitoring. Understanding the dynamics of micronucleus expression in lymphocytes in subjects with previous mutagenic exposure would be of significant importance for human population monitoring.

The expected quality-adjusted survival (QAS) for an index population with a specific disease can be estimated by summing the product of the survival function and the mean quality of life function of the population. In many follow-up studies with heavy censoring, the expected QAS may not be well estimated due to the lack of data beyond the close of follow-up. In this paper, we first created a reference population from the life tables of the general population according to the Monte Carlo method. Secondly, we fitted a simple linear regression line to the logit of the ratio of quality-adjusted survival functions for the index and reference populations up to the end of follow-up. Finally, combining information on the reference population with the fitted line, we predicted the expected quality-adjusted survival curve beyond the follow-up period for the index population. Simulation studies have shown that the simple Monte Carlo estimation procedure is a potential approach for estimating expected QAS and the survival function beyond the follow-up with a certain degree of accuracy., (Copyright 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.)

Acute radiation exposure of humans was observed to induce various forms of cytogenetic damage, including increased frequencies of micronuclei and chromosomal aberrations. However, the cytogenetic effects of chronic low dose radiation exposure in vivo needs further characterization. Sixteen subjects with chronic low dose rates of gamma-radiation exposure from 60Co-contaminated steel in radioactive buildings were compared with seven non-exposed reference subjects for micronucleus frequencies after they relocated. By in situ hybridization using a digoxigenin-labeled anti-alpha all human centromere probe, the exposed subjects were shown to have a significant increase in cytochalasin B-modulated micronucleus (CBMN) frequencies, as well as a significant increase in centromere-positive (C+) CBMN, centromere-negative (C-) CBMN, total C+signals, single C+ MN signals and multiple C+ signals/1000 binucleated cells (BN). However, decreases in the ratios C+MN/C- MN and C+MN/total CBMN (%) were also noted in the exposed subjects. By mixed effects analysis, considering individuals from the same families, the C- MN and single C+ MN/1000 BN were both positively and moderately associated with previous cumulative exposure. When the time period of relocation post-exposure (relocation time or RT) was considered, total C+MN and multiple C+MN/1000 BN were negatively and significantly associated with RT. Moreover, the C+MN, C- MN, C+MN/C- MN ratio and single C+MN/1000 BN were all negatively and moderately associated with RT, but not with exposure dose. This suggested that acentromeric and single or multiple centromeric CBMN cytogenetic damage seems to disappear differentially in human subjects post chronic low dose radiation exposure.

The objective of this study was to empirically estimate the expected utility gained from the implementation of the 1997 helmet law in Taiwan by using quality-adjusted survival time (QAST). We randomly selected 400 out of 8221 registered cases of head injury and successfully interviewed 99 cases with the index of health-related quality of life (IHRQ). The function of IHRQ was then multiplied with the corresponding survival function to obtain the QAST for head injury. The total utility gained from the helmet law in Taipei within 1 year was estimated by multiplying the expected loss of utility per patient with the number of prevented cases. The results showed that after 80 months of follow-up, the QAST of the injured population was 66.3 quality-adjusted life-months (QALMs), while that of the reference population was 78.7 QALMs. We extrapolated the QAST for total life expectancy by simulating the survival of head injury cases using the life table data from the general population. The life-long utility loss of a head injury case was found to be 4.8 quality-adjusted life-years (QALY). The number of prevented cases during the first year of enforcement of the helmet law was estimated to be 1300 cases in Taipei, which amounted to 6240 QALYs gained. For lack of data, we were unable to calculate the possible gain from helmet on reduction of severity among nonfatal cases with head injury, and the estimation was only a lower bound. We concluded that the QAST approach is a feasible approach applicable to health policy decision-making, especially in cost-utility analysis.

This study is a part of the Study On Air Pollution and Health In Taiwan (SOAP&HIT), an ongoing research project involving cooperation of several universities in Taiwan. In this study, the objective was to evaluate the effects of ambient air pollution on respiratory symptoms and diseases of school children, in addition to considering indoor air pollution. Six communities were selected: one community located in a rural area (Taihsi), two in urban areas (Keelung and Sanchung), and the other three in petrochemical industrial areas (Toufen, Jenwu, and Linyuan). We sampled 5,072 primary school students in six communities from the main study population of SOAP&HIT. Respiratory health was assessed by evaluation of the children's respiratory symptoms and diseases using a parent-completed questionnaire. Data were analyzed using logistic regression analysis to compute odds ratios of adverse effect. The school children in the urban communities had significantly more respiratory symptoms (day or night cough, chronic cough, shortness of breath, and nasal symptoms) and diseases (sinusitis, wheezing or asthma, allergic rhinitis, and bronchitis) when compared with those living in the rural community. However, only nasal symptoms of children living in the petrochemical communities were more prevalent than in those living in the rural community. Although the association with ambient air pollution is suggestive, the cross-sectional study cannot confirm a causal relationship; thus further studies are needed.

In 1994-1995 a cross-sectional epidemiological study investigating the respiratory health of school children in two Taiwan areas was conducted; one area was located in a region with petrochemical manufacturing complexes (Linyuan), and the other was situated in a reference area with no local industrial emissions (Taihsi). All primary school children residing in the two areas were involved in the study. Four hundred seventy children were studied in the area with high exposure to industrial emissions, and 611 children lived in the reference area. Respiratory health was assessed by evaluation of the children's respiratory symptoms and illnesses, using a parent-completed questionnaire. Particulates, sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and acid aerosols levels were significantly higher in the exposed area than in the reference area. The school children in the petrochemical area had significantly more upper respiratory symptoms and asthma compared with the children living in the control area. Although the association with known petrochemical air pollution is suggestive, this cross-sectional study cannot confirm a causal relation and further studies are needed.

Since late 1992, over 100 building complexes in Taiwan, including both public and private schools, and 1,000 apartments have been identified as emitting elevated levels of gamma-radiation. These high levels of gamma-radiation have been traced to construction steel contaminated with 60Co. Accurate reconstruction of the radiation exposure dosage among residents is complicated by the discovery of multiple radioactive sources within the living spaces and by the lack of comprehensive information about resident life-style and occupancy patterns within these contaminated spaces. The objective of this study was to evaluate the sensitivity of current dose reconstruction approach employed in an epidemiological study for the health effects of these occupants. We apply a statistical method of local smoothing in dose rate estimation and examine factors that are closely associated with radiation exposure from multiple radioactive sources in the apartment. Two examples are used, a simulated measurement in a hypothetical room with three radioactive sources and a real apartment in Ming-Shan Villa, one of the contaminated buildings. The simulated and estimated means are compared along 5-10 selected points of measurement: by local smoothing approach, with the furniture-adjusted space, and with the occupancy time-weighted mean. We found that the local smoothing approach came much closer to theoretical values. The local smoothing approach may serve as a refined method of radiation dose distribution modeling in exposure estimation. Before environmental exposure assessment, "highly occupied zones" (HOZs) in the contaminated spaces must be identified. Estimates of the time spent in these HOZs are essential to obtain accurate dosage values. These results will facilitate a more accurate dose reconstruction in the assessment of residential exposure in apartments with elevated levels of radioactivity.

Urbanization and industrialization has resulted in a vast amount of artificial water containers in Taiwan, especially discarded automobile tires. 3.5 million automobile tires and several million motorcycle tires are discarded annually. The discarded tires contaminate the environment and also become a substantial number of breeding sites for the dengue vector mosquitoes. In order to establish a sound system for the recovery and disposal of discarded tires and to control dengue fever through source reduction, it has been emphasized that users must pay for their waste. It is necessary to recover and properly dispose of these discarded tired. The commercial firms which sell or manufacture tires are therefore advised to cooperate with the Environmental Protection Administration of the Executive Yuan, R.O.C. and follow the "Regulations of Recovery and Disposal of Discarded Tires". They are requested to establish foundations for the recovery of discarded tires. Those who are willing to join should prepay a deposit or related charge by the size of tire, which is imported or locally manufactured. The foundation utilizes the deposits for the recovery and disposal of discarded tires. From 1991 to 1993 the commercial tire firms had already achieved the 80% recovery rates declared by the authorities concerned. Some of the tires, after having been recovered, were recycled in the original form and the rest were cut into small pieces for recycling after physical treatment. It should be mentioned that the Department of Environmental Protection of Kaohsiung City has collected 80 thousand discarded automobile tires to be used as ocean jetty.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)

Due to rapid urbanization, industrialization and social changes in recent years, the use of packing materials and tires has dramatically increased in the Taiwan area. What is more is that some parts of southern Taiwan are short of water resources and water preservation with huge containers becomes part of custom in those areas. Storage water containers, waste vessels and tires are good habitats for Aedes. Meanwhile, some persons traveling to dengue endemic countries bring the dengue disease back to Taiwan. Surveys taken since 1988 show that dengue occurs mainly in the urban and coastal areas where Aedes aegypti is prevalent. This species is the most important, if not the only, vector of dengue in Taiwan. It appears that the types of Aedes breeding have changed quickly. In dengue fever epidemic areas, the most popular breeding sites are ornamental containers (38.8%), storage water containers (30.1%), discarded containers (25.4%), receptacles (3.3%) and water collection in the basement (2.2%). In dengue fever epidemic areas, those building basements, huge water containers, waste vessels and waste tires in open fields are most difficult to clean up and manage and become the most popular Aedes habitats. We established a waste recycling system and promoted a breeding site reduction campaign for waste management, including the application of Temephos in containers to kill larvae. For the drinking water management, fish were released in water containers to prevent larval breeding. It should be mentioned that with the integrated pest control and regular inspections of Aedes larvae in Taiwan the density figures 1, 2-5, and 6 or above for Aedes aegypti were 38.7%, 42.9%, and 18.4%, respectively, in 1988, and in 1993 were 90.8%, 9.2% and 0%. The incidence of dengue fever cases has 98% decreased since 1988. In 1990 and 1993, there was no indigenous cases. We have concluded that integrated pest control is the best and most effective method for dengue fever control, including solid waste and drinking water management.

An investigation made in May 1989 with questionnaires to 2,480 families in Liouchyou Prefecture, Pingtung County, showed that there were about 6,533 water containers in the whole village, of which 49.83% were used to store water for drinking, and the remaining 50.17% were used for washing clothes and watering plants. 32.42% of the residents volunteered to rear fish in the family water containers to control the mosquito population. During the period from April to October 1989, there was a total approximately 17,600 Gambusia affinis, Poecilia reticulata, Tilapia mossambica, and Sarotherodon niloticus released into the household water containers in the Liouchyou areas to control dengue vectors--Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. One month after the release, a comparison of the container index of Aedes larvae showed that among 530 containers with fish in them, the positive container index was 3.58; among the 3,219 containers without fish in them, it was 25.97. Furthermore, the positive container index without fish was as high as 97.32 in May 1989, and dropped to as low as 18.00 at the end of September 1989. This indicats that rearing fish to control household mosquitoes yielded significant results in the initial stage. Also, in some water containers Gambusia affinis and Porcilia reticulata lived longer than five months, and Gambusia affinis could eat 31.33 Aedes larvae/0.4078g fish per day on the average. It appears that the biological control of dengue vectors by fish in the Liouchyou areas would be advantageous.

Recently, because of concern about the effects of insecticide on the environment, increased attention is being given to the use of biological agents for controlling the vectors of human disease. Biological control may encompass the use of predators, pathogens, parasites, pheromones, insect growth regulators, and other factors. Of these agents only fish and bacteria have so far been used operationally in mosquito control. Since 1988 fish have been employed for controlling Aedes larvae in water containers in Liuchiu, Pingtung. A review of larvivorous fish (mainly Gambusia affinis) and the present status of the use of fish in mosquito control in Mainland China are thus made for ready reference for the workers in mosquito control in Taiwan.
