The article features the Rainbow Gardens Bookshop in Tucson, Arizona. The bookstore business was started by Chuck Everson and Gerry Williams in Vista, California, in 1972 but it was sold to Kevin and Helen Barber after they retired. According to Helen, they had purchased books from the previous owners of the store. To modernize the store, the new owners installed a point of sale system and replaced index card files with computer files.
