The article presents information on socio-political conditions of the several countries across the world. It is a long time since a State Convention of either party in Pennsylvania made an inspiring appeal to the voters. The Republican organization has been absolutely dominated by Quay; the Democratic bas for years been blighted by Bryanism. The Canadian rebellion at 1837 was brought to a happy conclusion only on such terms. It was the wisdom of Lord Durham, which found that road to peace in Canada; and the Ministry of Cape Colony has actually urged his example upon the British Government.
