Public policy as a field of study is a central object of scientific research in the social sciences. This article analyses the scientific production of Scopus on care policies in Europe and Latin America in the social sciences. It explores the academic literature through thematic trends, the evolution of publications and their distribution among countries. A bibliometric analysis of the entire scientific production of the Elsevier Scopus database is conducted. The query is executed on the category "care-poli*". The result is 4,412 documents. The data obtained were processed by the VOSviewer software. The results indicate that more than fifty percent were published in the last decade. In addition, key words such as "public health", "mental health" and "policy implementation" have come to the fore in recent years. Most of the scientific production comes from the UK, and only ten percent from Latin America. The predominance of Anglo-Saxon publications conditions the vision of care policies and creates gaps in the development of research and knowledge dedicated to the study of care policies.
