Abstract

The article discusses a study which highlights the pivotal role of Exposure-Response (E-R) analysis in understanding the adequacy and risk/benefit of the proposed starting dose of pasireotide for treatment of Cushing Disease and underscores the importance of quantitative analysis to maximize the use of available data in a rational manner for orphan drug development. It suggests the importance of examining the dose/E-R relationships for efficacy and safety to optimize the dose regimen.
